It'd be cool if the Rose Quartz have all of PD's healing properties, but none of her destructive powers. They'd be kind of like projections she made of the parts of herself she wanted and pretended to be.

I don't think Pearl would not have suggested such a disguise, if rose quartzes didn't exist or where not scheduled to be produced on earth.

Actually, the most diverse gem is pearls. There’s been purple pearls, yellow pearls, blue pearls, even multicolored pearls like ours! There’s so much customization that can happen.

I think that they would have healing powers and Quartz-level strength. My general explanation for Quartz varietals is that Amethysts have more pyrokinesis, Jaspers have more physical strength, and Rose Quartzes are the weakest in both, but get healing powers to make up for it. Amethysts and Jaspers act as front line soldiers, while Rose Quartzes are battlefield medics that can handle themselves in a scrap just fine. If our Rose could heal, then it would be weird that nobody would question why this Rose Quartz can manifest this whole-ass ability that none of the others have.

The only facts about the Rose Quartzes that can be relied on, are that: 1. They were created by Rose Quartz herself, not by or on behalf of the other Diamonds. 2. They were bubbled by or on the orders of Pink Diamond, because of the fact that they were Rose Quartzes. From the existence of her secret laboratory at the Diamonds Palace on Homeworld, we know that Pink Diamond was capable of designing and creating new species of Gems. It's possible that the Rose Quartzes were either the first or most successful of her designs. There appears to be much variation in appearance and personality among the Rose Quartzes, much more than between the Amethysts at The Zoo. So, there may have been a lot of Amethyst-level rowdies and goofballs in the Rose Quartz cut, and relatively few like Shy Rose Quartz with perception and intelligence. Why were they created? The simplest answer for me is that Pink Diamond wanted a corps of Quartz Gems to match the Amethysts of Blue Diamond and Citrines of Yellow Diamond, who were more versatile than just Jasper warriors, Agate administrators and Ruby soldier-laborers. From Eyeball's words, it seems that only our Rose Quartz had healing ability, doubtlessly derived from her power as a Diamond. While it can't be discounted, I doubt that the Rose Quartzes were made to run The Zoo, as there's far too many of them. I think that they were supposed to help Pink Diamond in the colonial development of the Earth, before she turned against that plan. Why were they bubbled? I can think of two possibilities: one, they were bubbled on the orders of the other Diamonds because a certain "Rose Quartz" was conducting a successful guerrilla rebellion that seemingly couldn't be put down by Pink Diamond; or two, that Pink Diamond caused this to protect them from shattering by the other Diamonds after she'd conceived the plan to fake her own death at the hands of "Rose Quartz"... if the other Diamonds knew that these Rose Quartzes were already safely bubbled at The Zoo, they couldn't accuse any of them of being the regicide Rose Quartz.

Well I mean to take inspiration from the real life gem quartz’s are commonly used in electricity due to them being good conductor so maybe they have powers like generating electricity or something similar like how in the episode “maximum capacity” Steven made the tv go all static but idk it’s just a theory

I assumed that Pink Diamond took the form of a typical rose quartz before any were made, but after they were designed. It's possible that rose quartz (plural) already existed as a possible off-color of other quartz, but were rare. There is unpredictability to how gems come out, but as someone who grows crystals in a lab, I can tell you that you know what your starting materials are and your expected main phase, so for the most part, you know what to expect.

I wish you'd discussed the fact that the Rose Quartzes were very conscientious: Navy RQ could tell Steven was okay, EMO RQ was sweet to Pearl and /knew what a back massage was/ and offered one without being asked to Garnet. OFC Garnet did not wanna be touched, but the mere fact they knew that I think says a lot about their job in the zoo. Navy RQ knew they were outstaying their welcome. I think its v interesting. I'm curious if they even /have/ innate gem weapons

That’s a really cool theory. It makes a lot of sense that the Rose Quartzes were made to take care of the humans. The other Diamonds put the humans in the zoo when Pink wanted to end the colonization of earth. That’s why Blue Diamond put more Quartz soldiers in the zoo after the Roses were bubbled. She prolly thought they’d be just as good since they were all quartzes from earth.

The Rose Quartz’s are some of the biggest victims of Pink Diamond, alongside our Pearl, Pink Pearl and Spinel. They had no choice in the matter but by the time they were born, they’re sub races were entirely slandered, they never stood a chance with Pink Diamond as their leader. She took their name down with them.

There is one nagging issue. If they were made to spec...they would have to have had time to 'cook'. If Rose was the first , and decided to make them after, that's a time period it doesn't seem to fit...now if she had designed them and they were modeled from her at the start, she could pass herself off as a first emergence even a bit early in Gem time. Doesn't the flash back story of Garnet, the one with the sihlloettes have a scene where we see the Gems growing in the Earth in a spiral pattern? I think that could give the answer...

I think that the Roses only show one part of her powers. Since this epilogue is showing that she also has destruction powers. If this is true, then possibly the wormy boy is a gem made after her destruction powers

The line about never seeing earth, I took that as the Rose Quartz line was designed specificlly to be the fall guys, a scape goat. So Pink can look like she is trying to capture Herself.

I thought that the Rose Quartzes and Steven said that they were made exclusively to take the fall for Pink's actions, that she made an entire new race of gems just to bubble them because otherwise it would be suspicious that there was only one Rose Quartz (which is in character for Pink as she has been recently described, harming others for the sake of her own selfishness).

Could the Rose Quartzes been created to simply to be a decoy? They were just made to be bubbled maybe that's why there is so much diversity in them.

doesn't make sense. The human zoo was created only after Pink Diamond already visited Earth disguised as a Rose Quartz, when she tried to negociate with Yellow and Blue. I can see only one possibility: - The Rose Quartz were made prior to the Amethysts on Earth, and designed to be simply Quartz soldiers. They were put in the human zoo only when the rebellion started, and were never designed for this purpose. It doesn't explain why Pink sees the Amethysts as the first gems to emerge on Earth, but maybe she simply didn't oversee herself the creation of the first Rose Quartzes.

I think rose quartz were built to be empaths. They were most likely built for the zoo, after all Pink didnt know about humans until she turned into a rose quartz, but pearl just said she could be a "quartz soldier," not a "rose quartz." So its possible a Rose Quartz didnt exist until her turning into a quartz solider. All the gems are named by the diamonds seen with the pyrite and the smokey quartz thing (and because smokey was figuring out her own name, im assuming rose never fused with amythest. Compared to her other fusions, they knew who they were when they fused.) Basically, she probably invented a whole facet of Rose Quartz for the human zoo, but because the diamonds bubbled all the rose quartz, they were replaced bt amythests, the closes thing to the rose quartz

If you want more answers just look up what properties Rose Quartz brings to someone when used. (i.e. withccraft, mental and spiritual healing, decorations and pretty much what ancient times thought what the rocks brought to someone who wore it)

Idk man, it always seemed to me that the Rose Quartzes would have been made as soldier gems just like any other Quartz. It’s possible that they were already incubating or even already existed when the first Amethyst soldiers emerged. Are we to believe Pink Diamond had NO members of her OWN court prior to getting earth as her colony? that seems silly to me. Also, I’m a little confused that people still seem to assume that Rose Quartz gems would have all the same powers as our Rose did. She was a DIAMOND, she had DIAMOND powers. I don’t think them being composed entirely of Pink’s essence would automatically give them all her abilities, even if weakened. We don’t see any yellow gems have Yellow Diamonds electrokinesis, you know ?
