It doesn't seem like we have had any trouble getting parts lately. Sometimes the direct replacement from the company is backordered, but if it is something simple like a bearing or a capacitor, you can order a cross replacement. I just installed some bearings on a Trane rooftop unit, and it would have been back-ordered for months if I'd try to order it from Trane, but I was able to order a cross replacement bearing.

@@ReubenSahlstrom i assume it would be a bigger problem for inverter driven cold climate heatpumps than anything else. the manufacturers ought to standardize parts and just need to swap over a chip for the right firmwear - but won't.

They probably went through trane to get the exact OEM part when they likely could have gone aftermarket to get you up and going faster. I wouldn't make a customer wait a MONTH with no cooling for a hard start. That is just silly.
