@blackpandaskate It depends a lot on the press, and how its cut out. Not to mention the weight of the rider. But they do tend to not be terribly flexy with this layup.

After seeing all the comments, I did google Woody Hyezmar's site and grabbed his book. I'm now happy to find myself working on some new exciting proyects this month :)

for a flex 2, do i only need to use 1 lengthwise grain layer at the bottom or use them both as in the video? thanks

i love ur videos ansd sorry if im asking too many questions but what would using fiberglass do and if i was too do it would i out the graphic on before the fiberglass or after...thanks\

Should i include at least one cross grain cut among the other vertical planks? Or can it all just be vertical cuts?

Nice tutorial man. One question though: would this layout be strong enough for drop through cutouts? Provided you keep enough wood at the ends, ofcourse.

In one of his other videos he said he used baltic birch wood, and a quater inch.

Hey, I live in Italy I was just wondering how thick the ply's are or if the measurements should be fairly standard throughout the world for Baltic Birch

so i've been getting into board making and i'm currently stocking up for my fourth board. i want to give it 9 plys and micro drop but i'm not sure if just wood would hold up for the micro drop. what would you suggest?

im going to do a freestyle deck for hard work, u recommend me to use fiberglass? and where? in the middle of all the ply?, sorry for bad english im from argentina, im going to use a wood, here is called "guatambu" .

For decorative veneers, Yes. If its high quality stuff. For structural components, no.

Fiberglass makes the flex a little more quick and poppy, and makes it SLIGHTLY stronger. Its expensive, messy, and totally unnecessary. Don't even mess with it unless you need to.

No, Fiberglassing is an expensive pain in the rear. It can allow you to do some pretty cool things, but what most people want to make can be done entirely with wood.

Guy one question, may sound stupid but I use centimeters so I don't understand a shit... This board would have a half inch thickness more or less?adding the 4 planches? And how would it flex be? Thanks
