Very good, detailed instructions. One thing that helped me is I ran the jeep and pulled the relay for the fuel pump, and it relived all of that pressure.

I thought about it but I've heard stories about computer getting confused and I'm about to go on a 4000 mile trip so I didn't want any surprises. But they certainly might be in the future

@@officialWWM Better atomization of the fuel which reportedly gives better throttle response, better idle. Possibly better MPG. There's a video by "injector rehab" (put that + "jeep" in the search) which shows exactly what it does. Cheers

@@MajorWeakness I did go with the 4 port injectors, my PCM went haywire. I had multiple codes thrown P0172, along with the 0300 multiple misfires codes, and both O2 sensors went bad. I fixed everything new O2 sensors, and bought 4 port injectors from K suspension, it fixed the issues I had. The PCM issue I had was with the cheap Chinese made 4 port injectors I bought off eBay were bad. Lesson learned, don’t buy cheap Chinese injectors, they are either a hit or miss. Everything is working fine on my 99 XJ now, no more codes.

I had heat soak on the #3 inj for several months. Tried to jury rig some insulation, but no dice. Decided to go with 4 hole injectors used but cleaned and tested from K Suspension, and the DE heat shield kit. I found that the throttle response seemed more immediate and precise, but maybe that's because they are clean and fresh? Your presentation of the procedure was very clear.

After making this video it seems the Duralast is now a better value. Either way they were the same unit as of the making of this video

Noticeable change yes. Completely eliminated heat soak no. I've since learned that if your fuel pump is old the check valve is weak allowing pressure to fall while off. This allowing vapor lock on startup of a warm engine. I changed fuel pump on one of. My XJs and problem solved

Could you put the injector covers on before you install them back on the engine?

No because you would not have access to the electrical plugs

It's designed for 97-04 jeep 4.0 engines only. The same company might have some universal wrapping material you can use. Go to their website and check out
