I think one pass on planer would help too also a few dowels then clamp that b..... but honestly gaps are giving me headache lol

It might seem fine for now but wood glue is meant to bind edge to edge, not face to face or any other way. The glue over the course of a few months will not hold. He had a better shot with jointing the peice together with dowels or internal joint work...

Shouldnt be a problem as long as you sand it. I was questioning cutting curves with the bansaw. I was taught not to cut curves

it’s bc of the angle of the clamps it it would squeeze the sides wrong and separate it

@@seykhocrazy nope. It will still work, part of the clamp will be in a valley while the other on a peak rubber or silicone pads on the clamp will help not damage it. Add paper towel to fill the empty space under the clamp in the valley

Carpenter here! 1. That thing will fall over really easily, unless you put the unsupported side inside a corner. 2. Clamps, clamps, clamps! 3. Gluing is nice, but I'd definitely use some dowels as well, for rigidity. 4. Next, make some epoxy fillings!

1st thing I see in this guys stuff that’s actually worth taking a note But now a note for you use a clamp when glueing wood makes it much stronger the bond than using tape

While I would advise using a finer grain wood so that the join can be hidden better this basic technique can be used for decorative table or chair legs

Should have cut a 3/16 chanfer on all in side corners, this would have provided a path for some wires and a socket for a beautiful lamp, INSTEAD just a wood curiosity.

Used enough glue to complete this piece about 15 times, but didn't use clamps and used the wrong tools for sanding. Too complex of a shape, hand sand it and keep those beautiful crisp edges instead of grinding them into curdled milk

I did this when I was a kid. I used this technique not having any clue if it would work or not lol. It was well before the internet. I made a dragon head and neck with the back scales as hooks for shirt hangers lol. I’m not even sure what ever happened to that thing.

Some people call it a flapper sanding wheel, useful in sanding deeply curved surfaces as in this video. Home Depot has them in the Ryobi brand and they can be found with different grits (roughness). There is a similar item called a flapping sanding disk, but it is mainly for flat surfaces.

Im always weirded out by the yellow funky wood glue like any little imperfection will show yellow and youll need to hide it meanwhile here in Denmark the wood glue is white and turns transparent so its barely visible
