Thanks for the video. Spring great idea. I was looking for videos because I only had a chain with my bag because we bought it used. Then I looked around and found the bracket that you have without the video I wouldn't have known about it. I would use lag screws. Those gold construction screws will bend and break over time. You might want to replace them so it doesn't fall on somebody.

For those of us in apartments would you ever recommend a heavy bag with a stand or perhaps a reflex bag is a better choice?
@Jonathan_8052
@Jonathan_8052 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Forbes personally I’d recommend you get a free standing bag if you’re in an apartment. If that’s not your style then you can get a bag with a stand but make sure you weigh the stand down so it doesn’t sway and come off the ground with the momentum of the bag (or you could fix it to the stand by tying it to the legs so it doesn’t sway). Now if that’s not an option then get a cobra bag or a double end bag.
@loslosthuy
@loslosthuy 4 жыл бұрын
Try the Per4m quick punch on amazon for a double end bag, I used one in our condo as the upstairs unit and never got a complaint. Pretty cheap too. Csquared actually does a review on it as well.
@tuffgong2568
@tuffgong2568 4 жыл бұрын
@@loslosthuy I think that is ultimately the best choice, between possible drywall damage from hanging a double bag and the noise of a heavy bag in an apartment building, that makes the most fiscal and practical sense.

Thanks for the video man. Moving into a new spot and was setting up a Fairtex bag in the garage. I noticed certain boxing bags have more "pop" than others... does that come down to the kind of fill? I can't seem to find anything other than tiny pieces of cloth, sand, or rubber mulch - what did you fill this bag with or what other kinds of fill have you noticed?
@csquaredboxing
@csquaredboxing 3 жыл бұрын
No prob. It all depends on the fill. This nazo bag came Pre filled with terry cotton material which gives it a firm but forgiving pop once completely broken in which is why a lot of pros use this brand. Typically heavy bags are filled with old clothes (sometimes shredded) and sand bags to add weight.

Pal, with all respect, I think it is an awesome idea, but, will the roof resist the heavy bag weight? Because I want to do the same in my house. Keep going the good work!

what is the height from the top of the D ring to the floor? We are about the same height... and I am looking to hang a heavy bag off of my squat rack. Let me know -- Thank you

yo carlo I just got a used ringside wrecking ball style bag for my garage. I went to home depot and got some hardware to hang it. I didnt use boxing specific hardware like you have here. I think the bag may be a little high atm for uppercuts because when I hit them(even when going extemely light) the whole house shakes like an earthquake. I think I need to reinforce the 2x4 that are hanging in my garage to reduce these by vibrations, but I wonder about your spring. You think it reduces vibrations? I feel like it would make them worse. ill likely add more 2x4 for support to help reduce vibrations but if you really think that spring would help ill try it out too

Try bracing a 2 x 4 between two of the ceiling trellis, then mount the hangar from there and use spring

@@csquaredboxing yeah thats what im thinking. Cant even touch the bag with anything that somewhat resembles an uppercut without the richter scale picking up movement

What if I don't own a power drill and I already spent two much money on my new double end bag and the 50 lb bag of sand to go in my Everlast double end bag anchor to be able to afford a power drill right now?

Maybe a few caribiners instead of a chain to hook it to ceiling mount
