Learn how to make these Brabantian Sausage Rolls from The Netherlands. This recipe of delicious soft white bread filled with a ground meat sausage is easy to make. These Dutch savory snacks from the province of Noord-Brabant are typically eaten at Christmas time, but you can find them at cafes year-round. The meat is perfectly spiced with just a hint of nutmeg, and the bread is deliciously fluffy!
We spent quite a bit of time in Noord-Brabant, since that's where my mom, and her family, are from. As such, I was introduced to worstenbroodjes at an early age; and I loved them right away. I mean, what is not to love, it's fluffy white bread with a nicely spiced sausage on the inside. I'd dip it in a little bit of Curry Gewürz Ketchup (spicy ketchup), and would never stop at just 1.
After I moved to the United States, my parents moved back Noord-Brabant from Utrecht, and my dad learned to make these; he now often makes these with my niece for special occasions.

This is a typical snack from Noord-Brabant, so depending where you visit, you may not see a lot of these. They are great… a little bit more effort to make than a Saucijzenbroodje, but indeed delicious. Did you see my saucijzenbroodje video?

Well this guy from Zuid Oost Brabant will be making worstenbroodjes in SoCal for the first time in 20 years :) I already made the pork/beef mix for the 'worstjes' now it's time to make the dough. Thanks for making it easy to follow.

Remia curry is verboden. Hela is de enige optie! Maar ikzelf heb nog nooit curry gebruikt bij een worstenbroodje.

Oh sorry heb ik dat gemist. Onze traditie is bij aankomst op Schiphol, een lekkere vette halve Hema worst te eten! En dan als we bij m’n zus aan komen bestellen we altijd van de friettent!! Frites, frikandel speciaal en een bamischijf die gauw eens een keer ga maken!! Heb nog nooit een eigengemaakte bamischijf gehad, jij wel?

Ik heb natuurlijk veel geleerd van naar mijn moeder, oma’s, en tantes kijken terwijl ze kookten. . Maar mijn echte liefde voor koken is pas begonnen toen ik wat ouder werd. Dus zelf aangeleerd, zonder echte opleidingen. Veel gelezen, gekeken, en geoefend.

Het deeg blijft kruimelig in de machine. Wat kan ik eventueel toevoegen?

Je kunt wat meer vloeistof (melk of water) toevoegen.

if you have meat on your bench, just cleaning with soap and water is fine. The meat you used is not laden with germs. Or else you would be sick and the butcher would be in big trouble. Much easier to weigh our your meat and then divide into how many rolls you want. The same for the dough? How ridiculous

Thanksb yeah, you can definitely sanitize the board, which we do. Using some paper just reduces risks. As for the the method to divide it into portions, I said that weighing is definitely something you can do… but I show how my dad does it.

@@ap4010 nah, the engineers way would be using a scale. Drawing a line and working like that is more something an architect would do.
