This video shows you how to install a CV axle in your 2005-2009 Subaru Outback. A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. If your vehicle needs a new CV axle, install a quality TRQ axle that is engineered to your vehicle’s specifications.

Excellent video. Was very easy to follow. Gave all the sizes sockets and what parts to remove in the order they needed to be. Was clear and not our of focus.

Weird tutorial but it worked for me! Things I learned: 1: use a rubber mallet when hitting the spindle 2: have automotive grease handy 3: nobody’s tie rod just slides out like that. You WILL need a tie rod remover 4: there’s probably a way around removing the lower control arm, but make sure you don’t entirely disconnect it from the spindle, leave it resting on top 5: twice she says 14mm when she means 15. Gave me a big headache thinking I was doing the wrong thing 6: for a few of the inner bolts near the axle you might need an extender, even though it doesn’t show it in the video. 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5

You don't have to take the wheel bearing and hub out for this correct? You were just replacing the wheel bearing as well as the cv right?

I appreciate the factory procedure. But around 3:20 you beat the heck out of the axle spindle. By 5:00 there is a magically new axle spindle. I'd rather remove the strut and save the spindle.
