The inside nut is stationary like the outside nut. Loosen the BOLT. Use a long wrench or impact gun with extension and swivel socket from below. Comes off easy.

She had a problem with the upper bolt because nut is stationary. It's not supposed to move. She actually broke it off. Remove from other end only

You just have to heat and quench, there’s just no way you can loosen the bolt from the other end because there is no room for you to put a breaker bar or a ratchet there.

Why didn't you replace the outside bushing? I noticed you adjusted the abs holes to the correct orientation off camera. It's ok to bring it up in the video after showing how you aligned it then put it on with the holes facing up. Just like the welded nut. None of us are perfect. It could possibly confuse someone following everything you did. After all your videos are step by step and very helpful. Overall a very good video.

I have an 04 element that does not have ABS, my mechanic ordered ABS rear control arms on accident, can abs control arms be put on my element that does not have ABS?

Putting the load down and then tighten both bushings, right? Confused as to why you tightened just the inner bolt and then let the car down and tightened the outer nut. Shouldn't you tighten both bolts with the load on? Also, I can see why you might want to break that inner welded nut free as there's very little room to break the bolt free and remove it from the other side. I had a heck of a time getting that bolt out. Someone in the thread mentioned 69 ft lbs torque spec - yeah, good luck getting a torque wrench in there!

The inner bolt is going through a sleeve so it moves freely. The outer is in a rubber bushing.

So now we have gone from two to four potential points of wear and tear. I see these aftermarket parts fail all the time. Do yourself a favor, order the OEM part. It lasted 12 years for a reason! Other than that, nice repair job and great video.

Whats the point of making adjustable upper control arms . the ones I have on my car aint adjustable. Most of teh after market parts are adjustable
@jwattie144
@jwattie144 4 жыл бұрын
If you go to get an alignment they may not be able to adjust the rear camber on the wheels properly to get the front to line up. These adjustable arms solve that problem.
@nobiazcustomsinc5030
@nobiazcustomsinc5030 4 жыл бұрын
the vast majority of elements suffer from an unsolved negative camber angle in the rear wheels that is not repaired by replacing the parts with OEM units. Changing the suspension components with oem parts most of the time will not solve the issue. So replacing with adjustable upper control arms allows you to correct the negative camber angle(tops of wheels towards center of vehicle). if youre ever behind an element on the road youll see it unless theyve done this fix

I have a 08 sc element and yes I have seen other elements with this negative chamber. I think this happens when the rear shocks are worn out so the car drops and the wheels go out of alignment with new shocks this went away for me . But I will eventually gef these adjustable version put in
