I'm not a bigot. Don't get me wrong - I hate a lot of people, but my hatred doesn't discriminate. For example, I don't hate someone because of their religion, sexual orientation, or colour of their skin. I hate them because they cut me off on the sidewalk, or jumped the line, or stood in the way at the bottom of the escalator, or sneezed into their hands and proceeded to touch all of the things. Bigotry is so limiting when there's a whole world of reasons to hate. :P

There will never be total acceptance and harmony bridging gender, sexuality, religion, political views, etc. We, as humans, need something to fight against. Since the beginning of civilization; we have fought against our fellow humans for one reason or another. I doubt it will change unless an outside party threatens humanity as a whole like in Independence Day.

I would say anyone who is unwilling to have a respectful conversation and discussion (not an argument) with someone of the opposite convictions/opinion, etc is bigoted- Someone who cannot compassionately listen to both sides of the issue or who is unwilling to examine evidence for or against their personal views with a critical eye. This does not mean that you have to "convert" or change your views after the discussion (although this may happen). You just need to be willing to have one and do it peacefully without attacking the other person because they disagree with you.

Never own their behavior, instead downplay/ justify/ blame or deflect and then leave because there is never a good argument behind sheer hatred

A lot of that stuff, like the 'God hates you' signs are awful, and a lot of people are screwed up. But I am always called a bigot because my views differ from yours. That always leads to the generalization that I am like those 'bigots' even though I don't judge others and I am never rude or mean to those who are pro-homosexuality. I am a Christian and conservative. The only part of this video that got me mad was that the term 'Homophobia' is used in the mainstream media to describe anybody who is anti-homosexuality. This is a bad use of the word because the word, broken down, means a fear of homosexuality, which most people are not afraid of it, just against it.

But what made me angry was jewish real state office that really ignored me and my broker, didn't answer the calls and when we went to their office because we wanted to rent the apartment, they didn't even check the bank account statements or the other docuemtns proving I had the money. they just dismissed me as "You don't qualify because we don't know you will be able to afford the second year here" That was a really bullshit excuse because the deal is for 1 year and they didn't accept the papers. I have black, Mexican, and Asian friends. I have an atheist friend. The simple answer is homosexuality goes against my religious and personal beliefs. I do not think homosexuals should be genocided or any other kill crap because this is America and everyone belongs. It’s just the people who look for fights about this stuff I hate. (There are exceptions like political discords or if they will have a respectful debate.)

I think it's fair to say that bigotry can be judged similarly to psychosis. Put another way, everyone is someone else's psycho. Likewise, everyone is someone else's bigot. It's all relative. I prefer to have only one rule: Don't be an ass hole. If you can do that much, then let's have a beer.

The words 'Bigot' always contradicts itself that's why I always win against arguments when someone calls me a bigot and also why I never use it. if you call someone a bigot because they are anti-gay and don't tolerate people's opinion on their sexuality, aren't you technically a bigot because you are intolerant of their opinion on homosexuality. To call someone a bigot is when you accept their opinion but they won't accept yours as an opinion.
