How To Spot An INFJ Instantly

To understand an INFJ, one must realize that an INFJ does not exist.
Rather, the INFJ is a paradoxical truth of the world we live in.
And as some may know, this world is just a dream.
Therefore, does it really exists?

Fun fact: This video "failed" to export hence it never actually existed on my desktop despite the icon being there, meaning my attempts to delete it were impossible since you can't delete a file that doesn't exist. HOWEVER, I was able to upload it here... just another day in the life of an INFJ paradox

Being an INFJ is great because as a nurse it comes in so useful and my patients love me because I can relate to them and I know what they are saying and feeling. However, at times it is a curse. If I get overwhelmed or work too many shifts I become physically, mentally, and psychologically drained. I love people but hate them at the same time. When people ask me to describe myself, I say “I am the walking contradiction of everything!”

One of the things that scares me about being an INFJ is the ability to empathize with people no matter how wrong or evil they are. It's not that I condone these things, but I just can't help seeing their point of view, putting myself in a neutral position, and seeing where I can find points of agreement.
@brianon4049
@brianon4049 3 жыл бұрын
It might be due to the fact that "evil" is a matter of perspective - someone who steals from the rich and gives to the poor would be a villain in the eyes of one but a savior to others. I believe there's no such thing as good or bad but rather a difference in perspective. Where one could say something is "evil", I'd say is when it impedes upon another's free will.

As an infj I know what you mean. For me it goes beyond that. I got screwed by a narc. Besides learning about myself, selfcare, bounderies and the fact that i am an infj. In order to recognise them I studied their behaviour. The dark triade are definately evil. If you have no empathy (/humanity, capacity to feel or love) and purposefully harm others for money, attention and control....yeah thats evil. But the horrible part of being an infj is....part of me is the objective observer...its fascinating to me. I didn't know its that easy to manipulate, control or destroy a person to their very core. They hardly do anything and their victim destroys themselves from within while completely loyal to them. Part of me is wondering if you can use it for good. The ability is neither good nor evil...it just is...the intend behind it from the user is what makes it good or evil. And in ways its simular to what infj's do. We see your core trauma and know how to heal it while a narc uses it to destroy you with. But while we are hands on helping and getting not a thank you....the narc does hardly anything and gets praised. Its cause I don't think controlling others in any way is acceptable....I can see the tricks now and part of me thinks its fascinating.

@@maaiker2977 In order to help others one must understand what they are up against The Dark Triad can be good or bad depending on how someone uses it - for example, an INFJ who once used it to harm others but then later on decides to teach it to others, how to watch out for it, how to defend yourself etc. would be considered a positive outcome The problem I see is that no one even wants to explore that aspect, and thus, they can never defend themselves against it "It takes a thief to catch a thief"

This is the best advice I can give anyone who is an INFJ empath. Things are getting really crazy out there. I know that I have had a very rough life from beginning to now. I’m 49. My daughter is an empath my mother is an empath and I’m pretty sure my grandpa was too. If you are an empath, please protect yourself right now. You can’t help everybody and you are not responsible for feeling everybody’s pain. You have a right to put yourself first and given the fact that we are literally watching the world burn down around us…….

Signs I exhibit, I stare up alot, mostly at birds , clouds and trees. I'm very careful where I step, as to avoid stepping on insects or little lizards and such. Not so much when I'm in a hurry. I admire architecture. The thought and planning of construction more than the physical appeal. I despise standing in lines and would rather be the last in a building or train, than to stand in a line. I tend to stare at people when they are reacting to a situation. Recently I have been wearing sun glasses in crowded places and feel naked without my Bluetooth ear pieces. I'm always attracted to animals and will converse with them when I think no one is watching. I get very passionate when speaking about injustices that I perceive to be. But I may not be INFJ, just a really weird individual. I hope you're having a really good day and if not, DON'T GIVE UP. Can I just take the time to say how much I appreciate the fact you talked about Hitler. I studied Hitler (& Germany for the interwar/war years) in History and I've read a couple of books on him as well and felt like I actually understood him - and that scared me. I am in no way a tyrant nor a malicious person but a lot of Hitler's traits are almost relatable, he's the epitomy of when an INFJ turns too dark. Of course he is one of the worst people in history but I can't help but understand him, and I think only an INFJ would. It's a sensitive topic and only INFJs would be mature enough to talk about. But THANK YOU!!

Appreciate your comment and your willingness to delve deeper! I feel as though INFJ's are the only(?) personality type that's actually willing to dive off the deep end into the depths of the darkness that awaits them. Compared to other types, they simply just steer clear of it and never really examine what's underneath, which can lead to a lot of repressed issues and trauma later on in their lives. We don't know for sure what made Hitler turn to the dark side. But we can learn from history and hopefully, avoid going down that same route!

Todays society seems to be more concerned with what people might think of them, being politically correct and virtue signalling. I'm also afraid to say this things cause people tend to think that if we understand that means we agree, and that's not the case at all. How can you decide if something is worthy for you if you don't fully understand it? Plus how can you be sure you are not recreating the same exact storyline if you don't fully and deeply know it? Unfortunately this way to process things make us really easy to access by psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists too...

Wow, you’ve absolutely nailed my newfound position on Hitler, which is something I understandably cannot share with anyone I know. I’m also half Ashkenazi, which makes my ideas even more taboo, I guess. Seeing how America will do absolutely anything to control the narrative, and therefore the world, makes what you said, and what I agree with, not a big stretch. But we’ve experienced 80 years of thought control regarding WW2, and considering most people aren’t capable of nuance in the way we are, I understand why they can’t see it from this perspective.

"Tell a lie, tell it long enough and the people will believe it." - A.H I think many people don't want to acknowledge such a perspective because they've been told what to believe for so long. To see another perspective would be to admit they were wrong, which our ego's prevent us from doing 🙂

I used to think really clever people were always the odd and geeky sort. Being an INFJ, I was not quite like that, being more human-connected but also distant in a different way. Now I know about MBTI, so much makes sense now which previously didn’t. It’s not as simple, as many say/think, that we simply ‘are what we are, love on!’ NO, for an INFJ especially, typology allows much greater self-knowledge which is sooo powerful. It’s truly one of the greatest gifts an INFJ could obtain. In particular, it can help us find our path much quicker in life.

Hello fellow INFJ! Thanks for sharing. Yes...yes yes.. How strange to find these traits you speak of which are so pertaining to me and i had NO clue!!! Used to be always in a clueless cycle of people pleasing, energy drained, seeking solitude...at my older age, i have started putting real effort to analysing my own self. But i shudder to think of INFJ Hitler! Can an INFJ really go that far? But thanks for your analysis....

I always thought I didn't move when speaking to others (I always wasn't a fan when seeing others move a lot when speaking) but I recorded a video of myself doing presentation and I was so shocked. Moving my hands around was one thing but i looked like i was talking to them with my head being somewhere else, in another world😂 I understand the comment people say how we look inside and try to convey what we are trying to say in are head. I see it now. My teacher got annoyed like really really annoyed with how long it took me to answer a really simple question. Id try to think but because the questions were so suddenly asked and tricky to prosses as quickly as she wanted. I forget all thoughts and went blank every time. It confused her because my work written down is nearly perfect.

Hi Brian. I am an INFJ too. I am not sure who made the determination that Hitler was an INFJ: I really believe a better fit would be the ENTJ. Like that terrible chef that scares people on tv. I read that he is an ENTJ. I heard it said that he said “ I may be a jerk but at least I am an efficient jerk”. Wouldn’t that be a better fit for Hitler? I read the ENTJ are called the Commander. That is what Hitler was.

Thing is.. there are other facets to a person than personality.. for instance, I'm an INFJ with a 52% Feeling 48%Thinking function.. but I'm also a Choleric76% Melancholic 24% regarding my temperament. I am a Questioner ( using Gretchen Rubin's 4 tendencies test). And so you can have an INFJ who is a Melancholic-Phlegmatic temperament or Mel-Chol etc.. or an INFJ who is an Obliger or a Rebel. I think these other combinations also explains why INFJ types differ from person to person.
@brianon4049
@brianon4049 2 жыл бұрын
I agree - a person's background will determine their other facets besides just MBTI and is in most cases the most accurate For an overall picture though I like to use MBTI since a persons background is unique to them and it's difficult to account for everything that goes on

About Jesus, Jesus is not INFJ. in fact, we shouldn't even type him. He was not more introverted than extroverted or more intuitive than sensing or anything like that. He just does what's right. He can act both introverted and extroverted, etc. according to what is right thing to do. He has all 8 functions perfectly developed and none of them being dominant or submissive to any of the others. No personality type is perfect but he is. Please think about it👆 I too used to think that Jesus is INFJ but I was wrong

INFJs are completely different from each other , you wouldn't expect any two of them to have much similarities. On my point of view , Jesus was a self-actualized INFJ. There's a reason why nobody, even a closest friend , who can predict the action of an INFJ friend.(this applied even if the friend is also an INFJ) That's why I think the 12 disciples always tried to follow him in all places he went to learn from him. There's also other examples of self-actualized INFJs to ever walk on this earth. e.g Buddha, Krishna e.t.c

In explaining the trajectory of Hitler's life you demonstrated a very prominent INFJ trait, which was to acknowledge Hitler's positive contributions and not just going straight for the "morally congruent repulsion to his war crimes. Its not that his malevolence and pathological ideations are given pass. Its more of fundamental standard of approach that INFJs use as a frame work that's grounded in the bitter truths. its the bitter truths that will serve as our anchor for morality as well as the formwork that's used for casting more consistent and intellectually honest postulations.
@brianon4049
@brianon4049 2 жыл бұрын
Bitter truths are difficult to swallow let alone acknowledge It is far easier to simply pretend they do not exist and to enjoy one's life without their pretense - what most people do not understand that INFJ's seem to have grasped is that life is worth living because it's bittersweet :)

If you believe that part of being a narcissist is having an elevated sense of self, then how could Hitler be one? He offed himself. A sociopath definitely wouldn’t do that. Look at the state the world is in right now. It’s not good. Hitler probably saw it coming, and wanted to do whatever he felt necessary to prevent getting to where we are now.
