About the first... I wrote a story about an sociopath MC 😅 They aren't emotionless, but their specturm of emotions are big. So it's mostly agner and fear. He tries, to the best of his ablities tries to see himself in another person's shoes, but... that's the best of it. And no, we shouldn't hate him.

My main character (who is promoted to become THE main character late in the story) hardly draws any empathy from other POV characters, no matter if friend, foe or neutral. She is considered a piece of filthy rabble, a hired criminal working for evil people. (Which is true.) And it will be no big loss for anyone if she gets killed or has to rot in prison. (Which is not true.) Meanwhile she is thinking a lot about those other people, what their background might by and how bad thing may affect their lives and their loved ones. We don't see her doing anything really evil, she gets attacked by the good guys just for being a henchwoman of some bad guys. I hope she draws empathy from the readers though.
