Vesmond wanted driftmark for himself and baela and rhaena come before him

Vaemond was greedy lol he didn’t give a fuck about the bloodline, his brother was still alive and he decided he wanted Driftmark for himself, if he did actually cared about the bloodline, he would have backed Rhaenys into making Balea the heir

@@wizardmongol4868 he was not the legal heir lol in that case the heir would be Baela, children of the one on the throne (and their children) take precedence over siblings, it was his greed talking not him actually caring about a “bastard” being the heir.

Literally my exact thoughts. Ryan condal is undoubtedly on the Black side(which wouldn’t be an issue if he was unbiased) and Miguel Sapochnik is too heavily focused on blockbuster endings as frequently as possible; both in which are definitely affecting the audience’s opinion towards greens more negativity than the blacks. From Rhaenys slaughtering hundreds of people during a coronation which will only be talked about briefly if at all to divert the audiences memory and preserve her “moral high standing” as well as the Blacks’, to Larys possessing some weird foot fetish with Alicent, to the glorious let’s make Aegon a r@pist and now they decided to top it off with Aegon has a weird urge to watch children mutilate each other…It’s quite sad what they’re doing to the Greens .

@@TheeSecondSon it’s absurd. Agree totally. Fire and Blood is supposed to be neutral. Neither favoring one side. The dragon busting through the floor goes against all 3 accounts in fire and blood. You would think something like that would be mentioned but it’s not. HBO could’ve found better ways to promote “female empowerment”.

A lot of NPC’s say “Raenys should be the Queen”. What a joke! Raenys is a mass murderer. She probably killed a thousand people in this episode. If this is the example of a “good female leader” then the people are better off with the rapist Aegon. All this is just dumb. It has the stink of Hollywood all over it. Just more sugary consumables for the masses (with no nutritional value).

@@TheeSecondSon They literally painted and polished the greens this season. They made Alicent look like a victim. They made everything look like a mistake, from usurping the throne to Luke’s death. The only dislikable people on team green is Aegon and Otto. They even gave Aemond more backstory and explained why he is the way he is. They made Daemon all black and no white. He murders his wife, beats his wife/niece, grooms Rhaenyra and constantly abandons her. The only person that was a little white washed was Rhaenyra. But in reality fire and blood was biased af. She’s so much more sympathetic than what people believe. She didn’t want her siblings dead at the start of the war. She was willing to forgive them. It was Daemon that set up blood and cheese. Rhaenys wasn’t even sent to kill Aegon or Aemond, she was sent out to defend rooks rest against the greens army. Then it was the greens that ambushed her! It took her until the death of Luke, Rhaenys and Jace until she descended on the capital. Even after taking the throne and holding Alicent and Helaena captive she spared them. Never once did she put them to the sword. She only blamed Otto and took his head. Overall they white washed everyone apart from Daemon. Rhaenyra, Alicent, Aemond were all made more sympathetic but still realistic.

Vaemond never tried to usurp Corlys even when his brother was sick. He just hated how his brother let bastards, with no Velaryon blood, inherit Driftmark. He ironically did not die in vain when Lucerys was accidentally killed by Aemond when the latter lost control of Vhagar. Vaemond's only ambition is to keep his family's blood and power pure and secure. Those who think Vaemond is a coward forget that he also fought in the Stepstones alongside his brother on the front lines.

Lol it can get confusing but firstly vaemond isn’t black in the book, Fire & Blood. Which is why a lot of fans had a problem with HBO making House Velaryon black. The history, longevity and intermingling between House Velaryon and Targaryen are so closely tied. Even Aegon the conqueror’s mother was a Velaryon. The lady Valaena Velaryon Secondly, legitimate blood rights has little to nothing to do with race and everything to do with titles and status. Not fathering children off a common whōre, fathering bastards etc . Which vaemond did none of & corlys did

I’m not condoning them making the Velaryons black at all…. But….A white kid can have a black grandmother and vice versa. Dave Chapelle is obviously black and his mother is half white and her mom obviously white.
