Howdy, fellow gearheads and metal aficionados! 🤖 Ever wondered what it takes to tackle a colossal 3000KG pinion shaft using technology straight out of the history books? 📜 Well, hold onto your hats because the Pakistani Machinists are about to blow your mind with their vintage prowess! 🇵🇰💥
In this jaw-dropping KZfaq extravaganza, we're diving deep into the world of machining, where grit, grease, and a pinch of old-school charm come together like peanut butter and jelly! 🥜✨ Watch in awe as our intrepid machinists fire up their trusty horizontal lathe, ready to shave off chunks of metal with the finesse of a sushi chef! 🍣💪
But wait, there's more! Ever heard of a double helical pinion shaft? Neither had we until these wizards decided to take on the challenge! 🌀 Watch as they twist and turn their way through the metal, creating a masterpiece that'd make Da Vinci himself raise an impressed eyebrow! 🎨👨‍🎨
Now, hold onto your seats as we switch gears (pun absolutely intended) and head over to an old American machine straight out of Toronto! 🇺🇸🍁 It may be vintage, but boy does it pack a punch! With a flick of a switch and a sprinkle of magic dust, our machinists dive headfirst into cutting teeth with the precision of a neurosurgeon! ⚙️🔬
But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was this pinion shaft! It took these dedicated maestros a whopping 21 days to complete the project! 🗓️🕰️ From dawn till dusk, they toiled away, fueled by nothing but determination and cups of chai! ☕️🔧
So, buckle up and join us on this wild ride through time and technology, where the past meets the present in a symphony of sparks and steel! 🎶✨
Don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe for more epic machinist adventures, and remember, if it ain't broke, don't fix it-unless you're a machinist, then you can fix anything! 🛠️💥

Most of the comments are sarcastic, either about the work environment or safety standards. If this machine were in Europe or America, it would be in the Museum of the Industrial Revolution, but these young people still create wonderful mechanical masterpieces with it. The first thing is to raise our hat out of respect for them.

Lived in a steelmill 24/7 for almost 40 years. All I got to show for it is sitting on a bar-stool sipping on fish bowl in a bar called the Steelers outside 1 gate in a movie called the Deer Hunter.

I think most of the comments are complimentary to these men. They did what they had to do. No one was hurt so they applied sufficient safety practices. I bet there are not many machine shops in the US sthat could handle this! It would be returned to factory for a rebuild - for a lot more than these guys charged - IMHO. Thanks for the video.

Fascinating. Looks like the setup could take longer than the actual milling time. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.

That's not a full heat treat. The ends were not hot enough on the shaft. So they just done the middle.

In the end a product is provided for a larger machine that needs it. Many people were employed and made salaries that fed families . Not everything can be made in a pristine, high tech, surgery room environment. Many have to do with what they have . If it meets the need then mission accomplished.

Im a machinist in America and I wear and old sportcoat in the shop. It has a lot of handy pockets. I’m betting they have them because formal office wear is out of style in America and tons of it is going to Goodwill. A lot of them end up packed into bales and sold to rag buyers by the ton. Then they get shipped overseas and sold. There’s a guy who pioneered the process and he’s a multi millionaire now. I started because I thought it would be funny to wear an Armani suit jacket to work in a machine shop, but I found them to be very comfortable and handy. I eventually moved on to a Harris Tweed light wool one from Brooks Brothers of London

38 Rockwell is a bit low for hardness. However, the enterprise has done tremendous work and the basic principle and machinery is the same, this being the 1st generation tools, whereas Europe is on the 5th and 6th generation tooling.
