Seeing Miley Cyrus perform at the Grammys and we all asked MILEY CYRUS WHAT IS YOUR ARM WORKOUT?! I love seeing how top performers train so they are physically and mentally prepared for their performance. This weeks episode I'm taking it 1 step farther, not just doing miley Cyrus workouts for 30 days, but yes ALSO LEARNING TO SING. Come along for pilates, yoga, her Flowers routine, and more.

GIRL This was super vulnerable and something that is a major fear for me and probably so many others and it was so awesome. I’m so proud of you and I don’t even know you. This was, in my humble opinion, your hardest video yet, and it was really cool to see. I admire this process so much and big congrats for making it through. Ok as someone that has considered myself a musician and vocalist my entire life, I really appreciate the effort you put in here! And you absolutely improved over the course of the challenge! It’s also really fun to watch a video of yours where you take on something outside of the fitness and wellness where you’re building from the start instead of being an expert from the get go. Love the song ❤

Not going to lie, listening to the difference in vocal power while you were on the treadmill put a bit of mist in my eyes. Singer here, and I think those of us who've been lifelong singers take for granted how hard it is for folks who have never done it before in any capacity outside of singing in the shower. But you're right, its just like training for a sport, and baby, you're on the right track (pun very much intended). Quick tip! When you're singing with your earbud in, it can be hard to hear yourself and it's easy to get off-key. I like to cup my hand behind whichever ear doesn't have a bud in, my voice comes through way better and I can keep on key much easier. Proud of you girl. 😊

@@larahorhor5470 prices vary depending on the studio. I used to pay $230 for all access pass. Now I just use class pass because it’s actually cheaper and more flexible with my schedule. But like I said I have a white collar job and can afford it. It’s all about how you want to prioritize your cash. I don’t shop a lot and I mostly eat at home because I prefer to spend my money on fitness. If you prefer to buy clothes more often, for instance, maybe not the best investment for you.

Awesome to see you pursuing more things your curious and passionate about. I have a thought for you that might help this endeavor. Remember when you were taking ballet classes and your instructor told you to embody the story through emotion during the dance routine? It translates the same in singing. Emote from your heart. It’s not just about singing the lyrics, it’s about feeling them. Record yourself singing but not intending to post it. Just for yourself. Play with the vocals like the artists do, give yourself the permission to do so. Then you might really start liking how you sound. ❤😊

Every trained vocalist out here was like …. Wait, she’s doing what what now?! Lol. Girl, you jumped into the deep end of an Olympic size swimming pool even TRYING to sing whilst running. Singing is a very human thing to do. So many people say they can’t sing or that they are tone deaf (which is an extremely rare condition that would affect your speaking voice as well. You’d sound very odd indeed). The hardest part of learning how to sing well is that there are so many tiny muscles you can’t feel like you feel the big muscles in your body all along your vocal tract which includes the muscles in your torso to control the flow of air, level of compression, and where you are placing the sound, forming and shaping the sound in your resonators. It’s a lot. Singing is a full body sport for sure. I’m constantly amazed how often I’m in a full sweat after a training session. But it’s also amazing how quickly your brain figures it all out. You have a good voice, Keltie. You have a nice tone. If you want to unleash your voice, you absolutely can. But be patient and realistic. It takes YEARS of dedicated practice to gain the kind of control that singers like Miley have. I’m so freaking proud of you. I’m excited for you. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤

Also in that video you talked about wanting to be able to dance and sing, look at you now! ❤ I think people sometimes underestimate what it takes for an artist not just to sing, but also be able to perform/dance/look good/have stamina etc. They're constantly being watched and we criticize them if they "don't look good/can't dance/have bad breath control" etc....

Your voice absolutely is a set of muscles! The thyro-arytenoid muscle is the primary muscle of the vocal tract and the voice 1,000% needs to be treated just like any workout. Proper warmup stretches before a vocal "workout", training the voice intentionally just like how we train our bodies intentionally (leg day, chest day, arm farm, cardio, etc.), the main workout, cool down stretches, and the awareness that alcohol impacts the voice just like it does the body. So so glad to see new singers learning about how complicated singing truly is and that learning to sing well requires practice, technique, and body awareness, and so much more! Keep singing, keep learning, and keep up the good work!! ❤❤❤

Keltie! Your control got so much better over the 30 days! Love this video, and love that you’re already looking at practicing your instrument as being similar to fitness. It literally IS training up muscles, just smaller ones in a really specific way with a really active mind-muscle connection. It took me YEARS to look at it this way and start bringing some of my sports training mentality into the practice room. Coincidentally, I’ve been singing while running lately, but mostly started as a way to keep myself in zone 2 lol. I’d love a Dua video, and think as far as singer ranges to emulate Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift may be good places to start.

amazing video ! a lot of things you've said resonated with me, especially about struggling to call yourself a musician (please, do!) and fearing to put your music out... My bf is very similar in this and one thing I learned from him is that everybody can sing, it just requires practice and devotion... not everybody will sing like Fredy Mercury or Beyonce, but it is possible. I am glad that you showed to people that it is normal not sounding your best right from the beginning and that it is simply a process and you will improve with time. Fingers crossed for your future endeavours.

Another singer here and I fully support your statements! Keltie is spot on with her philosophy of being a vocal athlete. This remindes me of Marci Daniels Rosenberg and Wendy D. LeBorgne's book "The Vocal Athlete." Adding to the tips, dear Keltie, continue recording yourself and listening back. Like a dancer watches themselves in the mirror, a recording device is a singer's mirror that reflects the sounds they are making. With practice & experimentation, you can learn to craft your own unique sound. Sending you lots of encouragement from a ~fellow~ musician! ❤

hi keltie! loved this video so much and just being able to see you put yourself out there with all these challenges! i'm not sure if you play any musical instruments, but something similar to singing while dancing would be doing marching band where you play and move. might be something fun to try if you're able to!

Awesome video!!! Singing is a learned skill just like everything else! I will die on this hill lol Some people may be starting at different places and improve at different rates, but I guarantee that everyone you hear who sounds amazing singing has worked on it. It's surprisingly similar to training your body. Consistency and steady growth over time :)

Have you ever did a video on reviewing an experience with “The Class” workouts. I’m super intrigued. The whole crossover between emotional/spiritual/physical fitness feels like it would be an interesting video!

Hey Keltie you’re doing so great. It’s so sad to me that you were so intimidated in your childhood so you hid your singing voice. You are so right,as a singer (although not a pro), it is a lot of work and training and not just „talent“ (sorry I sometimes get angry when people put to much emphasis on talent) singing has a lot to do with muscle memory and controlling your body. I feel Sport and singing are actually quite similar and they can go hand in hand very well. I hope you got the spark as you will get better. Only in the 30 days you have made huge progress in my opinion. Be kind to yourself. It‘s a skill and it takes time and work but I think it’s so worth it❤ loved the video. Btw who is a runner? Someone who runs regularly . Who is a singer? Someone who sings regularly. And haters are most often can’t do it better and don’t know anything about what it takes. I never judge people who try singing und try always to encourage and if they want it I will give a few tips, as it can be very hard to try and learn new things. But I also think there is beauty in sucking a little bit at a new skill 😂love the video, love you and wishing the best for everybody who tries something new 💕

Okay I'm back again because Keltie I went through the same singing trauma at school. I always loved to sing but I have a low voice (I'd like to compare it to Toni Braxton 🤣) but when we had to practice a song, which was v minor key, the kids laughed at me and since that day even my husband can't get me to sing.

I know we are only seeing small clips of your vocal lessons but I hope your coach is teaching your about vocal placement in terms of keeping an open mouth/throat and proper vowel shapes. I saw a lot of tension around your neck in some of the later clips and just wanna stress the importance of protecting your vocal chords. Keep learning and working on your voice!!! Music is amazing and you can totally learn and be amazing

You and I are living similar but reverse lives. I live in Australia where it is always hot. I have grown up learning music (classical flute) and completed a degree in music. I was NOT sporty in my younger years. I spent my early years performing. I also studied ballet and dance when I was young and went back to it at 19 (it fell by the wayside when I got married, but one day I will go back to it... maybe... if I find time). Now, in my 40s, I've discovered fitness and being sporty... for the first time in my life. Good on you for singing on camera, this is something that is really hard to do. Even though I am trained, it is something I fear! You are a very inspirational young woman and I admire your transparency with all that you do. Keep being you!

I have met so many people with amazing singing voices who stopped bc of an insult or similar during their childhood or teen years. People are awful. PS I did singing lessons during and post COVID and it transformed my view of myself. PS still not entertainer level but I understand what it takes and that it is a skill more so than a talent (excluding opera ) Have a great time. Sending huge support !!!!
