My sons neck has been bothering him after many trips to the er and ct- scans and then to his doctor she said that the only thing that was reported was an old neck fracture, which was never even reported to him ever. So he finally had an mri and now has an appointment with a neurologist this week. Thanks for sharing.

Megan... You're a strong young lady, and you have an incredible attitude. What an incredible journey you've been through. It's hard to imagine the emotions, pain, and uncertainty you've experienced. I'm happy that you're sharing this, as it's an inspiration to be grateful.

Wow! I'm so sorry you had to go through that and so glad you made it out the other side. I also really appreciate the reminder. I just scheduled my neck, x-rays and MRI and sometimes it's hard to remember that it is the right thing to push for answers when something feels really wrong.

Like you, I have had multiple surgeries & hospitalizations (21 surgeries & 4 non surgical hospital admissions just since 2010, the last surgery was was 10/2022.) I’m still dealing with issues. As a retired nurse it is so frustrating to see how patients are ignored. I have to constantly advocate for myself & twice for siblings who were both dying from cancer. The Lord is why I am still here. Listening to what you & your family have gone through is so frustrating to hear. I live with constant pain & if one has never dealt with severe pain, which is most medical staff, they have no understanding of how challenging it is to just function. To be ignored, pushed off, improperly diagnosed is now the reality of how patients are treated & sadly it is only going to get worse. Those few doctors & staff that really want to treat patients are being blocked by the hospitals that are now controlling most practices. Many have or are in the process of retiring. It is big business that is the priority & not patient care. I thank you for sharing your experience. I pray the Lord continues to give you & your family the support you will need throughout the rest of your lives. Your life is a marathon, not a sprint & you will need that support daily. My neck XRay looks very similar to yours. My situation is A.S. ( ankylosing spondylitis ) witch is only half my problems. My surgeon thinks the other 50% is bad genetics. I'm trying to put off having my skull fused to the spine for as long as possible but that day is near. I'm 32 and have no life due to my medical problems. You and I see things way different. To be honest, I believe that I am here to suffer. Because I am the black plague of bad luck. Not just for my spine problems but all my medical issues and life in general. I'm sorry for your pain and suffering. I hope you have more good days than bad!

I've been screwed back together, shattered pelvis lower spine. I was told I would never walk again, and even if I did walk, it wouldn't be for very long. It's been 10 years now, and I'm still walking. I've lost everything I've worked for. Life really sucks getting any treatment for pain is like I'm asking the doctor for heroin. I never gained any weight when people normally do gain weight, but I don't have enough money to gain weight! If these doctors had any compassion at all, they would have let me die. Doctors, nurses, and the whole medical system puts the bare minimum effort in. Meanwhile, if you're a alcoholic or drug addict the world is laid out at your feet, medical attention, and jobs. If you have an accident, if it's your fault or someone else's fault and you're screwed! I knew that night my life as I knew it was over whether I recovered or not. I'm really sick of the pain! I wish the DEA could be kicked out of the doctors office! I don't need pain medication every day just once in a while. Hurting physically inside makes life and socializing extremely difficult.

It can be so difficult when you're suffering so much to see that as purpose but the incredible thing about God is he can bring purpose out of absolutely anything and that brings us so much hope. I’m a Christian, and of late I’ve been suffering (again) from bad depression. I wonder why God allows such things to happen to me, and how I suffer from it. Then I received your post, and I (re) realise there is always somebody worse off. I was an alcoholic and God took it away from me miraculously, but he didn’t take the depression away. I reckon he has his reasons. I’ve been a subscriber of yours for some time, and each time I marvel at how faithful and trusting you are to God. I’m sure you have your moments or even days, months of doubt, as we all do. I don’t know why he allows you to suffer so badly, but I know he loves you, and I know there’s a reason known only to himself, and maybe you won’t know what it is this side of Heaven. I’m praying for you. I don’t precisely know what to pray for, but I pray he will ease your discomfort and give you strength to hang in there. I guess he has used your obvious issues to help the likes of me, if that helps a little. May he bless you.

You showed up in my feed today and it was the video of you getting the halo taken off in 2016. In that video you said you didn’t feel supported in the back and I could see exactly where you were referring to. I’m appalled a resident didn’t think your pain was real. I instantly could see what issues you were having after seeing your X-ray. I have multiple medical issues that have caused me to live in terrible pain for which I am taking pain medication for. I’ve seen a few of those type of doctors that do not believe you are in severe pain. I’m sorry that you experienced that level of pain and the doctor discharged you thinking it was nothing. Always listen to your body. No one will advocate for you better than you can. May God continue to protect you and watch over you. 🙏🏻♥️😊

Wow! 30 years ago an mri revealed a C1 fracture. The radiologist looked at me like I was a ghost. I can relate.

Sounds like she's doing well relative to her injury. I always trusted the mayo clinic more than anywhere else. I think that's still on existence. Rochester Minnesota.
