You can 100% be queer and muslim but since queer relationships are not allowed it makes sense that they wouldn’t include it in the app just like how premarital relationships are not allowed so the app focuses on people who want to get married.

@@KevenTalks I know a few younger straight guys who quit dating apps because there was so many trans women on there. They wouldn't tell these guys straight up they was trans and then they'd meet up for a dates and then confess at the last minute(before sex because they still had a penis) and turn really vicious when the guy rejected them. I've heard quite a few stories like this. I guess the guys are too scared of backlass and getting called transphobic to put no transwomen in their bios. I think everyone should be allowed a preference without being attacked and called transphobic, straight people who want the opposite biological sex and gay men and lesbians who want the same biological sex. No one should attack or be cruel to any trans people but they should have the right to reject them sexually on the bases of their biological sex.

As usual, great story telling Keven. You are right, it's disheartening that a dating app excludes gay men. I can relate completely as I am half Egyptian and tried to fond a Muslim gay app one day to find more relatable guys and was also shocked like you. Many similarities...😍🤫

Hi Keven, have you heard any of the speeches by Enes Freedom? I ask this because he grew up in Turkey with Muslim parents. He moved here to the USA to escape the bad situation in Turkey. Enes mentioned that gay relationships are looked down upon in the Muslim world. It makes sense with that said that they would not have and Man seeking Man option on a Muslim dating sight.

Interesting video idea. Thank you for sharing about your background. I that that is interesting about your Turkish and Muslim background. Stand proud. If you had not mentioned it, I would not have known or thought about it at all or asked. They still condemn us as as whole as gays. There are segments of our society that operate as you mentioned and we are not apart of their thinking or conversation. Being gay is not just about sex, but that is how we are viewed unfairly. It is sad how they still exempt us or we have to segregate to get what we need out of life. It is no different what society reflects and people follow that. Good job Keven.

When you told us you didn't see any men (due to no sexuality choice), I was like hmmm if you go back and say you're a woman and then put in ur bio that you're gay then you'll see men. Haha but that's if you are adamant about using the app 🤭.

With respect to what you say starting at 5:40, according to the 2024 Gallup poll results, 7.6% of U.S. adults now identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or some other sexual orientation besides heterosexual. The current figure is up from 5.6% four years ago and 3.5% in 2012, Gallup’s first year of measuring sexual orientation and transgender identity. Gallup has also documented that Americans consistently overestimate the Gay population. In 2019, U.S. adults estimated that nearly one in four Americans (23.6%) are gay or lesbian. Gallup had previously found that Americans have greatly overestimated the U.S. gay population, recording similar average estimates of 24.6% in 2011 and 23.2% in 2015. In each of the three polls in which Gallup has asked this question, a majority of Americans estimated this population to be 20% or greater. Note that Gallup, Inc. is a non-governmental, American multinational analytics and advisory company.

Thanks for this stat - though I would assume dating apps have disproportionately higher gay (or gay-curious) individuals using them? (since it's harder for gay people to meet organically, there's a lot of shame/stigma, etc)

@@KevenTalks That's a good point. On the other hand, for an app like Muzz that is targeted toward a community that has traditionally opposed homosexuality, there may be a disproportionately lower number of gay individuals willing to use the app since many of the gay individuals may want to leave behind all ties to a community that had rejected them. Without supporting statistical data, while perhaps plausible, the ideas about the proportion of gay users of such an app being either greater or less than in the general population are just unsupported hypotheses.
