I'm also going over how I lost my initial position in Abbvie by selling covered calls. By sharing the mistake I made, my goal is to help new investors not make the same mistake. I also answer the question.. "Is Abbvie stock a Buy right now?"
I also go over Apple's recent news and talks of Apple getting into the electric vehicle space. Reports are that Apple is set to be working on their own battery technology for an iCar. I believe Apple will be a great longterm investment in every stock portfolio.

Is the reason you didn't sell CSP was because you wanted 100 shares prior to ex-div?

right, I was looking at selling a CSP expiring 1/8 before ex-div but I don’t want to risk missing out on buying it around this price, and then next thing you know, it shoots back up to $110 ish... the premium isn’t even worth it, plus I just want to own it.

You don't need multiple positions if your picking the right stocks & buying them at the right times. However if your buying things that may fall out of favor in the future....it's better to spread some of the money out into other sectors. That is the true purpose of diversifying, some if these areas fall out of favor with the consumer..... that can last for years..... you want some money in others areas so your portfolio stays intact some what.

Tesla and Apple will be competitors. I used to have ABBV, but sold right before the crash in March. I've debated getting back into it, but with my portfolio already having over 30 different companies, I really want to focus on the ones I have and maybe even eliminate a few to have a leaner portfolio. It's just hard trying to determine what I should cut. :/

Yes it’s a nice way to make extra income. Just do it with 100 shares you don’t mind owning and you also don’t mind losing

This is why I hate partial shares.. Instead with those $500 I could have bought ABBV at $81 and seen more gains, AND in a shorter amount of time..

@@ThinkMoneyBenny I did like Kevin and had a few brokerage accounts spread out. But come to find out that Fidelity has EVERYTHING! And I have the money to buy 3-5 shares of a big dog company instead of tiny fractions of a lot. The way I see it why not have everything in Fidelity lol. But yeah at the same time I agree. There are levels to the stock market, and ANYONE can start with a very small fraction of a share, the eventually you'll be able to do covered calls (I'm not there yet lol) But the point is, there are levels to this. BUT I had the money to buy full shares, I should have taken the money out of M1 Finance as soon as possible lol. Live and learn I guess :)
