Yay. Couch Smells! I loved the show. Needs work, equipment is lore accurate and the games take place after this I can overlook the changes to the silver timeline. Heck. They touched on gene song, something most people wouldn't pick up.

Basically how I went in to watch Justice League after all the reviews came out. I was reasonably entertained by it. Granted the Zach Snyder version obliterated the OG version. But I digress.

It's a 7/10 show for me so far. It's nothing revolutionary, it's probably not going to be the show we all waited a decade for, but it's got me hooked and I'm definitely going to watch the entire season.

The unsc and ONI specifically have always been villains. Especially ONI. There are some evil mfs running the office of naval intelligence.

So a couple of thoughts : The UNSC yes was thought of as the enemy based on a series of issues such as Spartans and Marines taking out targets deemed a crutch to the over all ideas of the UNSC as well as propaganda pushing by the other colonies that have had to contend with the UNSC. The roots needed to power the slip space technology is mined on these colony planets. Next, Halsey has other motives and plans for the Spartan program that differ from the UNSC. (Canon) 117 has “visions” after touching the 4 runner artifact doesn’t really surprise Halsey because part of the programming of the Spartans is to seek out 4 runner tech and 117 having the visions is needed to show he still is human. The biggest reason we all love Master Chief is because he pushed against UNSC when he knew what they were doing wasn’t always right. The comment that Kwan He makes about faking video is made because that’s what she believes up to this point. The fact is that the UNSC pushed propaganda to let the colonies know that they were not the enemy and that was realized when the old guy tells Kwan He that the propaganda was true that the Spartans weren’t against them.

I really enjoyed it, there's some CGI I wish was a little bit better but other then that I'm excited for Thursday, we have Moon Knight and Halo this week so I'm stoked! Now if there was a new starwars show I'd be set!

10 out 10. I've been playing halo since I was 16, when it launched. 20 years now. The show didn't disappointed. I am all that is halo.

I haven't seen it yet, been busy with Elden Ring. But I plan on watching it and I'm 100% sure I will enjoy it.

I’m just completely surprised he took his helmet off in the first episode. I personally think the actor looks extremely goofy and I cannot wait for him to but the bucket back on.

5:26 Not essentially disagreeing but the way I took that scene and situation is these Rebels or whatever, these Settler's are very unaware of Elites tactics and more less seem.more prepared and used to dealing with unsc So to me he wasn't being poorly written but they implied her mother had a more emotional attachment and the father was.just their and taught her but seems.she has heavily learned as.much as.she could from.her mom. Enough to be a possibilty to get taken out as a target and I like how this Master Chief is acting like he would a lot like from fall of reach novel imo . The sniper is my favorite reminds me of Kat from Reach as well

Question, and not trying to sound judgey. You let your kid watch a Mature rated tv show that shows other kids getting their heads blown off? You mention that right at the start of this vid. Short of surprising. But other than that, glad you enjoyed it. And kudos for being able to see this as an alternative reality and being open to it. Many people can’t do that and want things to be exactly the way they’ve seen things before.

I liked it. It's definitely on model and feels like halo. I agree the writing is bad. Writing is typically bad for these types of shows with a deep lore and history. The flash for example had been bad for 6 seasons straight because they keep regressing character development and using horrible cliche plot devices. It being a departure from established lore is actually a benefit imo.

Hey i agree with alot of what you said the lazy writing is my biggest problem and another thing that made no sense is that the mastercheif would not keep his helmet off in a possible combat situation with the unsc that made no sense and spartens would never even think about fighting eachother especially sparten 2s they refer to eachother as family

its when normal people shoot a turret it does nothing, chief rips one off and suddenly it actually does some damage lmao

I enjoyed the first episode a ton. My take they took an angle to rope in new Halo fans, guess what it worked my wife loved it and never played a single Halo game.

didn't I comment on this already? I said the idea that something new in a franchise "isn't for you" isn't correct. It's objective that if you don't make something for a part of your target demographic that that percentage of the demographic will not end up within the fans of said new addition to the franchise.

I rate it as 3.75/5 for the first episode. I’m excited for it. I went into it not expecting anything and separating it completely from the Halo lore. I can appreciate it for what it is. I’m excited to see it grow.

I agree with your review! with low expectations it's actually really good. The only real problem is "lazy writing" describes it best. Since the beginning of movies and story telling it's always been about the story. All the bells and whistles are cool but what really matter is the writing.

Epic like you though Infinite was going to be steadily outfitted with desync fixes and new ranked modes and maps? Yeah, that kind of epic.

This show is really good, but some of the CGI is off

A lot of people said it was alright, but I actually LOVED the first episode. I have NO interest in the video game lore, even though I have beat all of the games. I just... Never really understood or thought those stories were that good. The episode was great direction for the Series. Interested to see what episode 2 has to offer

You do realize is not a "halo Infinite" show right?

First, I just wanna point out this definitely was not a “brand new Halo Infinite video” 😂 Paramount definitely didn’t spend the money to make sure this show succeeds. The writing is weak af, the CGI is bad, and just really poorly done. Admittedly there were parts that I enjoyed in the battle scene, but when chief throws the assault rifle on the ground you can tell it was a CG affect. When chief does the big jump to provide cover fire to help another Spartan, the jump looked terrible. The part where the Elite kills the insurgent leader, your telling me chief didn’t hear the guy yelling and firing his gun at the Elite? Chief only went to kill the Elite after he walked around a corner and saw the Elite sword the guy. Apparently the DMR is a fully automatic weapon now. The Plasma Pistol can explode Elite’s heads. All of the weapon problems could have been avoided just by looking at a Halo game. And that female general was probably one of the least believable characters so far. I don’t know what it is about her, but they definitely could have done that character better. It was definitely difficult to watch. Overall I’m not gonna give up on it yet, but goddamn it certainly left a lot to be desired.

“Good” show so far. Not amazing, but not that bad. I don’t get the hate, but whatever.
