Casey makes a good point. This is a weaker conference and we have one of the easiest schedules this year in that conference. If we can’t take a step up this year, no matter who is under center, then we will have taken a step back even with the same record of 7-5.

I think that Tech will have between 8 to 10 wins this season. We had great back to back recruiting classes. We have made changes to upgrade our O-line, both with players and coach. Having to play 3 quarterbacks for each of the last 2 seasons has been our biggest obstacle. So, I think 9 wins is pretty obtainable. There are really only 4 games that look tough to me. Arizona on the road, TCU in Fort Worth, Iowa State in Ames, and OSU in Stillwater. To hit 9, we just have to take care of business in the games we should win, and then win 1 of these 4 games on the road. GUNS UP, LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!

1. Chris: you should always go for the Big 12 in out of conference games. Especially now that UT and OU are gone 2. Casey: I agree, Tech has to have a 8-9 team floor (minimum) if Tech wants to progress as a program. The fans and boosters deserve nothing less. As usual, great show you two!!

It really doesn't, it relies on the o-line like it always has. Which is why Tech has historically struggled to be anything better than slightly above average. Thanks for watching #GunsUp

Something I've been thinking about with Behren recovering during spring training is that it allows backup QBs to get some more time and focus. At this point, we have to assume the starting QB won't play every game. I hope that isn't the case, but we can't blame injured QBs for bad seasons with how common it's been over the years. We need to have some focus on backups and I'm glad we understand how great Tahj is and can rely on him as well. I think it took too long to get Tahj involved. With this schedule, 9+ wins should be obtainable.

Ok……………. Since we in el Doce Grande need money (Tech not quite as bad as some other schools) Why not at least try to saturate the market of those who will pay in our league to advertise on the field and the jerseys ASAP to have some kind of edge. Think about the generosity of the Red Raider Club and other entities that contribute to Tech and other Big 12 schools. Btw for Joey and our team, building this thing with a Texas pride (large percentage of Texans and Blanchard stamp of approval on all players) in our players I believe is building a culture that will endure. As money becomes more distracting and pressure is applied, it sure seems like Joey is about two important things: heart and mind. We hear so much about heart and we hope the mind can flourish here. I like the flavor of the Kool Aid and hopefully the men who make things happen on the field can find strength that will outlast the competition. “Alright alright let us pray”. Haha 😄. And we wait. JO

Other than a few quarters here and there why do people even think that Morton is that good? Where does he rank in Big12 qb’s? Maybe mid level?

Good question. I (Casey) have very low expectations for him, though I think I have higher expectations for anyone that's next in line because I expected diddly squat from Tyler Shough. If this is not a Brooks, Brooks, & more Brooks offense I think they're pumping a dry well. We'll see. Thanks for watching #GunsUp

Expectations? Regardless of schedule, anything less than 10 regular season wins is not acceptable! We should be winning the conference and competing for nat'l championship every year. I have not seen anything that makes me believe an 8-win season is likely. I think 6-6 will be the best they manage.

Don't blame you, though they were 6-6 "good" even with Texas on the schedule. Without OU & UT in the mix shouldn't that be worth at least one or two more wins a year? Maybe, but the Tech fan in me says don't count any chickens before they hatch. Thanks for watching #GunsUp
