Even DURING the Indominus’ reign of terror we had people who somehow thought some of the animals in the first JW were fake-we all remember the people who called the Dimorphodons “mutant pterodactyl/T. rex hybrids” and _this year_ a friend of my sister’s, upon learning I liked dinosaurs, _asked me if the Mosasaurus was a real animal._ (The Mosasaurus was even NAME DROPPED in the movie wtf???) I don’t blame the public that much, hell, I’ve seen them get better at this when they do things like play Jurassic World Evolution 2. It’s really on the movies themselves for not doing a better job of explaining things.

I don't really blame people calling dimorphodon a "mutant tyrannosaurus pterosaur" cause it literally has a tyrannosaurus head, even the dimetrodon has a tyrannosaurus head, like it justs an identical head
@dracodracarys23392 жыл бұрын
not gonna lie, mutant t-rex/pterosaur hybrids sound kinda awesome. at this point, since they've basically ditched all scientific accuracy in the JW movies anyway they might as well go full "Chaos Effect". because nothing's worse than a dinosaur that's both inaccurate and boring. might as well commit to the full "movie monster" bit to highlight how Ingen's so called "dinosaurs" can barely even be considered "real" dinosaurs.

To all the people saying the "if-you-remove-dinosaurs-you'd-still-have-a-movie thing is bullshit": JP: people have to visit a dinosaur park, then a mess happens = if you remove them, *you don't have a movie* JP2: people have to do a documentary about the life of dinosaurs on an island, then the bad guys transport a rex on San Diego and a mess happens = if you remove them, *you don't have a movie* JP3: people have to save a kid lost on a dinosaur island = if you remove them, *you'd have a movie about people saving a kid on a regular island* (which would paradoxically work...) JW: the park of the first one is open...and a mess happens = if you remove them, *you don't have a movie* (i count indominus as a dinosaur) JW2: people have to save dinosaurs but they escape and spread on the planet = if you remove them, *you don't have a movie* JWD: an evil organization created mutated locusts to eat wheat and the protagonists have to stop that...then there's dinosaurs = *if you remove them, you'd have a movie...* (I know locusts have dino dna in them, but they're damn insects nonetheless)
@filippoagostani88962 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the long comment but I really wanted to point that out...
@markcobuzzi826 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. While I did not mind the prehistoric locusts being a subplot in the film and felt they did somewhat tie into Crichton’s themes, the Mesozoic reptiles still needed to be a primary driving force of the plot. I have always felt that the writers could have at least set it up, so that Dodgson was planning a mass sale of BioSyn dinosaur embryos on the world’s black markets, which would have also made the ecological disturbances worse if our protagonists did not uncover it. That way, the BioSyn locusts would have not been the only looming threat, and that ending with Earth’s ecosystems better adjusting to the dinosaurs could have felt more earned (since the protagonists had to intervene to stop it from getting worse, rather than the problem seemingly sorting itself out with their adventure having little impact on it). To take it a step further, I always felt this could have also been an opportunity to make the T-Rex vs. Giga conflict more relevant. Rather than inventing an ancient rivalry that never existed, Dodgson could have planned to stage a fight between his Giga and Rexy, so he could broadcast it to black market dealers as his sales pitch for BioSyn’s products overtaking InGen’s legacy. And just like that, the fight between the two large carnivores has more tie-ins with the broader story and its stakes.

That scene where the Atrociraptor was trying to get to Barry and he's just trying to escape by hitting a door that's locked from the other side made me a bit mad. They established earlier that he has a gun, not a taser, not a tranquilizer, an actual pistol that shot bullets. AND HE BARELY USES IT! that whole time when Barry was trying to get away from the Atrociraptor I kept saying "SHOOT HER! SHOOOT HER!!!"

Thank you for mentioning the set up for the Mosa killing the Indominus, although I wish you mentioned the use of Chekov’s gun with the reintroduction of Rexy in JW. Comparatively, the Giga gets one mention by Ramsay as the camera pans down to him sleeping in the forest…then the Giga and Rexy have a cat fight pretty midway through the movie…and then we’re supposed to believe that’s enough for them to have a full blown rivalry. The Prologue doesn’t even help with this because the Giga was also kinda just hanging out before Cretaceous Rex wanted to fight them.

@Fyr355552 жыл бұрын
To be honest I was disappointed with Dr Wu's redemption arc at the end. It felt too basic and it could have been much better. One idea I thought of after watching the film is that there is a scenario where Dodgson takes Maisie Lockwood away from the main cast to bargain for his escape (presumably he puts a gun to her head). Dr Woo is supposed to come with him and restart his projects on the locusts and maybe he has a specimen to take with him that is the closest he has come to replicating what Maisie's mum did. They get attacked by a dinosaur and Dodgson manages to escape into the hyper loop but Woo and Maisie are left trapped outside, the dinosaur has Maisie cornered and Dr Woo has a chance to escape through another door with his work but he decides to help Maisie instead and gets fatally wounded before the main cast come along, and the dinosaur is killed by the character who flies shit. Dr Woo dies but tells Maisie about his latest work and they are able to take it with them away from the sanctuary leading to the same final resolution but Dr Woo died in the end. My idea with this is that Dr Woo finally realizes all his experiments have somehow gone wrong at some point and he makes the moral choice to save Maisie instead of repeating the same mistakes that have already led to so much death and destruction. I also think it gives more of a point to the way he opens up to Maisie, maybe he feels guilty about what happened to her mother and thinks this is a way of redeeming himself.

The only thing that kinda helped me get through this movie was the old characters chemistry and charisma. I liked some elements of the movie, like showing a bit on how human and dinosaurs co-exist. Mainly how humans use them to make money. The Giganotosaurus design was so off putting to me. !Spoilers! During the final battle I honestly thought Rexy would die. They killed the Brachiosaurus in the previous movie and I was like: "They officially killed the Jurassic Park franchise. Kinda sad, but it's fitting." Rexy is old, probably weak since Giga is getting more food. As cruel as it sounds but Rexy would probably be dead. But nope she uses the overly aggressive Therisinosaurus to finish it. As overly aggressive as this dude is, he probably killed Rexy right afterwards. The freaking Pyroraptor (I liked that design more) behaves like a freaking shark. I mean they probably could swim, but ever heard of Hyperthermia? I hate the trope that carnivores will try to kill their prey even if it means they die. Maisy was... something. I get how she feels trapped, but when your life is at risk I think you can live in a nice cottage with peoplr who obviously care about you. And how the fuck did they mess up Betas design that badly!? She looked like she had a cardboard box for a head. !Spoiler! She is identical to Blue, so they had the perfect excuse to use the model from the previous movie. I mean propa that they went all the way and made a new one, but Beta looks so bad. Also I love the fact that half-way through the movie they forget about her, only to remember that they have to bring her back home and capture her.

I liked it more than fallen kingdom for me this movie is like a 6.5 not amazing but not horrible just ehh the same way the rise of skywalker was just ehh in fact they share a lot of the same issues weird pacing, major plot stuff being set up in stupid ways, things not being explained, and lots of “go here and do this” and then never bring it back up or have it not mean anything in the long run. Also a lot of the dinosaurs only have 1 or 2 scenes/segments which is fine unless it’s the Dino that kills the villain, is the villain, or has a decent amount of marketing around it.

Mostly due to a lot of us having the hidden sadistic side to take pleasure in other people's pain because our lives are already miserable. And because it feels like putting certain people on too high a pedestal that they become just as corrupt as the people they speak against. (Hint-hint: Cinema Sins and Channel Awesome) And continues to make the reputation of critics seen as pretentious by the general public. Though I wish the director's cut was the one released since that would've helped saved the mess of an aftermath in the fandom. Where if the person may have legitimate criticisms, most people don't like their opinions and world-view contradicted and would fight for that point so they could be seen in the right(As in right or wrong, not right or left wing politics). And if you try to explain to them, it feels like a waste of time because they're not giving what the person wants, but is only getting them to the point where they don't want to associate with it anymore because all they could think of is the negativity. No wonder why most people before millennial age (Our parents, grandparents, bosses, or any corporate CEO)see us millennials as entitled ungrateful brats who can't accept any change and just want anything catered it to their way and don't care about everyone else's feelings. You're not helping yourself and your friends with this.

It looks a lot better than the first Jurassic World, but that's not saying much. It's like the Last Jedi being the best of the Star Wars sequels. Yeah, it's better than the Force Awakens. That's not hard, and it doesn't make it NOT bad.

As a fan of Jurassic Park, I thought this movie was fun. It’s the Fast and Furious of Jurassic World movies and I’m fine with that. But then again I’m also the most biased person in the world.

@@ExtremeMadnessX (if you ignore that canonically the Indom, which wasn’t actually fully grown, would’ve been atleast a meter longer than it.)
