iilluminaughtii, AKA Blair, recently threatened former members of sad milk (Wonderstruck Guy and Oz Media) with cease and desists after they spoke out about her), and has threatened to foreclose on Oz Media's home - but we finally have an update.
Plus Hbomberguy has uploaded a video on plagiarism including iilluminaughtii which may have had some consequences for her.
Until now: After the controversies with LegalEagle and plagiarism, former sad milk members like Wonderstruck, OzMedia, the Click, and One Topic, and controversies with Tommy C, Nicholas DeOrio, and Cruel World Happy Mind - iiluminaughtii (a.k.a. My family keeps a ledger, but only because we're all adults now and we need to distribute shopping and bills evenly (treats that you buy for yourself don't count). My Mum owes me $600 rn but she's a relief teacher and there's no way I'm gonna ask for that kind of money until next year when she can actually work to earn it. I can count on her to pay me back though, just like she can count on me to support us through school breaks.

Not only has she not stoped and took the critique of everyone and tried to better things but continues to dig herself into this hole. Harris Bomberguy's video on plagiarism was in production for months. So it probably contains outdated info because that segment is from a while ago now. I saw that segment on his Patreon back in I think July.

I can't lie, I'm really confused by what you mean about hbomberguy's video. I watched both of them pertaining to plagerism that he recently released and I'm not entirely sure where there could be any issues. He was fairly factually passive. Sure, he exaggerated a lot for comedic effect (especially in the Plagerism and You(Tube) video) but I don't remember anything coming off as offensive or incorrect. The best thing I can think of is him pointing out that he's been plagerized, but that came off to me as a sort of "look it's even happened to me in this hilarious way" thing, not an actual complaint

Her views actually bumped up a bit after hbomberguy's video essay, but that had to be people checking to confirm what he'd said. It won't last. Before that, they were down to 20k views on average, some closer to 15k. She's lost another 20,000 subscribers in the past two weeks, btw.

This is entirely speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if her goal to foreclose his home before Christmas was 100% a strategic move because that would make him homeless at the worst possible time: winter. All of you who have donated, know you've done an incredible deed and it's really saddening that people can stay without homes AT ALL.

I get the feeling (maybe I'm wrong) that the bit of Hbomb's vid you took issue with was when he mentioned that people covering the illuminaughtii story have also been plagiarising each other to the point where videos on the topic are abundant and rarely add anything new. I'd be interested to hear your argument if that is in fact what you took issue with. I'd say you very clearly do not fall into that category, your interview with an ex-employee added to the discourse. But speaking as a person who ends up watching vids on this topic in the background, I've personally gotten really sick of the channels upon channels that just recite the same facts as everyone else, as if they did the work to collect all of it rather than getting the info from other channels they aren't crediting, with maybe a "woah" or a "that's crazy" type reaction. It's gotten the point where if someone actually presented something new and unique to them, I would miss it because I've been trained to assume it'll just be the same facts I already know. Of course I expect some level of recapping what has already been established, but then I expect something new. But no, 9/10 times, the video just ends after the recap is done.

I also think that people who are making videos to fund other projects tend to behave more professionally than people who are just content farming because they want to make a lot of money on very little effort. Both cause and effect are different, so I don’t think she should be so self-conscious about it. She’s doing this as a job and she added value while citing her sources.

@@MrMancreatedgod because I like listening to something I can tune in and out of when I'm writing or doing art. It can be distracting to have to fully disengage from a project I'm invested in in order to find a novel thing to listen to. It strikes the same balance of a thing I know enough about that I can get distracted for a few minutes without getting wholly lost, and a thing with enough of a new perspective that it can still provide something to analyze during the bits when I'm doing the more tedious manual steps. It's the same reason people watch multiple people play the same video game, there is an unimportant intrigue to seeing how other people with different perspectives process the same information.

Did Blair technically do Tax Evasion? Just a thought because I don't know much about law, especially American law, but it suddenly came to me. She bought so many things using Oz name, reclaimed a car that wasn't insured to her, and has racked up debt we have no idea how much at this point. whatever happens with potential tax evasion, that's really up to the IRS. as for all her manipulation and fraud, it depends on how much evidence the state can collect. but even with strong evidence, sometimes the state doesn't prosecute. and sometimes if a victim wants to press charges, police won't carry through. the best option might be for the plagiarized writers to hit her with copyright claims, lawsuits, even small claims filings (which are all risky & require capital).

Vangelina, it isn't plagiarism to show the video that Blair plagiarized, as long as you either mention or cite the original source on screen. Plagiarism is strictly to knowingly pass others work as your own or alluding to it being your own, by not giving credit to the original creators. So you can definitely show the video, as you have repeatedly proven yourself to be a reliable source, since you do cite your sources (mostly verbally) and never claim credit for something that isn't yours. You have nothing to fear from the hbomberguy video. The only people who have something to fear, are those who knowingly plagiarize in order to rake in as much money as possible, with Blair being a brilliant example.

From what I have seen on Twitter, Vangelina is salty because she was in the list of "drama channels" that Hbomberguy called out, even though she credited him for the clip in her video. Although this is a sticky point, because I believe that Hbomberguy said that they should be crediting Deer, not him (which would be true if you were citing the vaccine info), but it seems to me that Hbomberguy IS the correct person to cite if you are using it for the plagiarism angle

Boxblax responded and I kinda agree with the response in that he's not claiming to be anything else that a tweet archivist WHO DOES credit the tweets. And to be fair, I am not even a big fan of bowblax, but do think he is honest as to what he is/does. So I think HBG probably attacked a few people as collateral that didnt deserve it.

Bowblax was mentioned in HBG's video, and maybe a bit aggressively, but HBG's point wasn't against Bowblax, it was against the people citing Bowblax as if he was the original source. Bowblax used part of HBG's video, don't remember if he cited correctly (not the point), and then a bunch of people used the same clip and cited Bowblax, even though it was HBG's clip... HBG's clip of a documentary from Deer, so Deer is probably the right person to cite, not HBG (which is what HBG said), but everyone was citing Bowblax anyways, so that doesn't matter because Bowblax was definitely the wrong person to cite.

Yeah a goal of $10k is *easily* achievable in a situation like this. I've watched charity streams go way beyond that that were much less personal so it's absolutely no surprise to me that it would be met that quickly. People generally want to help each other.

He avoided this foreclosure, but he is still in debt to her for the rest of these loans, which is around $120,000 (there are 2 loans)

I wish i was a famous lawyer so i could get in touch with OZ and tell him that contact isnt valid! A contract made in bad faith, fraudulently (like by lying about the specifics of the contract, i.e. "i committed embezzlement" "this is how our relationship will be salvaged") knowing what you are saying is a lie to manipulate a signature, and including unreasonable financial expectations is not a valid contract. Furthermore Oz could be said to have not been in the right state of mind to enter into a contract in the first place. Sefious stress about said finances where that contract was flaunted as the big saving grace to the mental anguish can be argued as yet another reason to void the contract. Thankfully he raised plenty of money and a good lawyer will be able to argue the same.

If you're a contract lawyer and you're confident in this and want to volunteer to help you could probably get in contact with him, regardless of your clout. At least you may be able to discuss the possible defense with his current lawyer(s) or something.

I’m a bit worried that the cure amount may not pay off Oz’s debt but just bring him current and Blair will sue him again in a few months. Abusers like this are excellent at trying to use the system to keep after their targets.

That’s the thing, it’s just a small amount of what’s owed, however if he keeps the payments current, she has no leg to stand on for trying to foreclose again. And even if something happens, many have said they’ve got his back again. I’m hopeful he can close this chapter soon.

She's actually trying to now. But from videos I've seen, what they've been able to decipher is that it's such a vague nothing burger that it shouldn't go in her favor. But at the same time, the people who she's going after, Oz, Wonder, and someone else are the ones who it looks like she's just trying to outspend.

I'm gonna go out on a limb guessing she foreclosed because she is running out of money - having bad credit, the BMW fixation and all the ecommerce boxes strewn around the place in Oz's photos suggest to me she's not good at managing money, likely has a spending problem and with her channel tanking, it's not rolling in anymore...

@@starcrysis23 I wouldn't really classify that as plagiarism, considering she still cites her sources, so if Hbombs defines that as plagiarism, then Hbombs definitely made a mistake, as the dictionary will disagree with him on that front. And the people writing the dictionary have a much higher responsibility than Hbombs can ever dream of, given how direct their work influences our societies.

@@Arterexius hi! i watched the hbomb video and from what I gathered, he wasn't implying that people who used his video were plagiarizing him. No one passed the video off as their own, but at the same time a lot of smaller drama channels fail to credit the video to him. He said it didn't matter at the end of the day since it's not a huge deal, but it just made a point about how drama channels often farm content by posting update videos as often as they can which can. He was just trying to say that in the hurry to point out blair's plagiarism, his credit for making the video was lost bc of this content farm-y way of making videos. As far as I can remember, he never accused these smaller channels of plagiarizing him (bc they didnt lol, they didnt claim to make the video themselves).

He said that not a single one bothered to check for themselves if Blair plagiarized any of her content, and then proceeded to show a lot of examples of plagiarism.

I'm not claiming that Hbomberguy is that important either, but dictionaries don't have an influence in societies, language works without them and evolves all the time.

The sheer amount of people donating to that stream...I joined 2-3 hours in because I was working when it started. The superchats and donations were so far behind that they were celebrating the 10 mark... It took 3 hours for it to finally get through 30 minutes of donations. I was insanely amazing to see.

If Blair's intending to make a whole new channel and rebrand, I doubt it'll work. Internet sleuths who follow stories like this are exceptional at sniffing out rebrands and new channels. This is going to follow her, especially if she insists on being the voice. She'll need to completely change her topics of interest (including the defunct ones like weird wild world), and hire a VA to get away from this. And even then there's no promise that she won't continue being horrible behind the scenes and drive employees away.

im genuinly convinced blair is trying to kill some of these people indirectly: azostan: blair said words possibly in an attempt to bait him into ending his own life wonderstruck: blair called police on someone who was mentally unstable with a gun at the time possibly, hopiing he dies in a shootout with the police OZmedia: blair tried to forclose his home during winter to hopefully make him die of frostbite (if she attempts to do it even though the cure was paid, then that would all but confirm it for me) i know this is a VERY FUCKED way to view some of the things blair did/is doing to these people, but all of the things i mentioned can lead to a fatal outcome and i dont think blair ever viewed them as people ever. blair very clearly wants people she doesnt like completely ruined and unable to live a normal life at the very least (if what blair tried to do to the click is anything to go off of). i dont think these are that much of a stretch.

I sure hope the flaw isn't another stupid attempt to try to make Internet Historian's plagiarism into fair use. Let me tell you a secret, it wasn't fair use. I just don't want to see anyone else using their biases to misrepresent plagiarism when it comes to people they are fans of. Could you imagine if I could just take a book from Stephen King, change a few words make a movie and then pretend it's fair use? Or if someone has an issue with the way he frames things through his ideological beliefs. Because, well, that's pretty common to ideological creators.

I don't watch a lot of commentary anymore, but your delivery is so gentle even on heavy topics and it's really appealing. If anyone is interested, Savantics did a great video very recently specifically highlighting what she gets wrong in her more recent videos. As for mythical creatures, the vast majority are pretty amazing, but dragons are classic, and you can do so much with them.

I'm designing a simple tattoo for my wrist of a simple stylized phoenix with a semicolon body. Because i almost put a period where it was too early to end the sentence. Guessing one of the flaws of Hbomberguy's video is about the drama channels. Where I did spot your name happening to fly by on-screen. Doubt that was a fun call out. I honestly found that a bit harsh. There is a bit of a divide of channels that just try to ride the coat-tails of topic popularity to the top like Blair herself did with reddit and essays. But there are also numerous who try to stand out and bring new info to the table while summarizing OR are just trying to figure out a niche for themselves. I wouldn't call someone like Swoop who does investigative work a mere regurgitator and i get the idea you are trying to avoid merely copy-pasting too

Idk I value some of the work swoop has done but she’s not perfect and she’s not immune to criticism. Neither is Vangelica or any other drama channel, the nature of these channels themselves deserve criticism. And I don’t mean that in a “they should all stop” way, I watch them a lot. But I think they really need to not take it personally when they’re the subject of discussion.

I am like 99.9% out for myself. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, I've fallen on serious hard times, and am just trying to look out for my fiancée and kid. I only just recently found out about this thing with Oz Media, and had I known he was streaming, I would have hopped on to give him SOMETHING, even if it was $10. I sympathize with his struggle, because I went through a similar (albeit far less severe) situation which left me 40k in debt, homeless, and pushed me to bankruptcy. This isn't a fucking game. I'll be monitoring Oz the best I can in hopes I get the opportunity to help out too. You guys are heroes! I seriously wish I had people like you around me 5 years ago 😂😂

As an ancient (by Internet standards) old skool jounarlist/researcher, I IMMEDIATELY fell out with the illuminaughtii channel when she outed another depression warrior for his "mental illness" and then wanted to blow her channel completely out of existence with the plagiarism. That said... My favorite mythological creature is Chupacabracorn. This is the result of cross breeding an El Chupacabra and a Unicorn. This creature is TOTALLY real, and can be found in remote sections of Puerto Rico and the southern United States. I'll let that sink in. But seriously, I love all the lore surrounding the gentry, aka, the shining ones or shining folk, or the fair folk, or the lords and ladies. We dare not speak their names because that would draw attention, and we could suffer the consequences. There's a reason we describe actual physical pain as "shooting," "throbbing," or "nagging," all of which are related to some type of mythological creature. Glad to see all the people Blair hurt thriving. Click recently surpassed her in subs, Oz raised the money to keep his home, and it appears that Wonder is retuning to making content as well. She is definitely livid her attempts to take them down only took herself down

Hell yes!!!! I've been working a lot and missed it! I would've donated in a heartbeat. This makes me so happy! Favorite mythical creature...hmmmm. I do like the Mermaids. As far as Irish folklore goes, The Sluagh are kinda creepy. I like creepy...haha! But how horrible would it be to not have a place to go really...for eternity? If they existed, my heart would go out to them to suffer in such a way. I also wouldn't go anywhere near them! haha! I'm fond of my soul and would like to keep it.
