I can tell you really enjoyed making this mud farm! I love how one simple new discovery (the waterlogged stair not flowing into azalea bushes) is able to increase the bone meal efficiency of the farm by 50 times its previous efficiency. I also can't wait to see what people do with the new dried mangrove block once it's fully implemented into the game 👍

@Nanamowa
@Nanamowa 2 жыл бұрын
Not to mention that rooted dirt can be converted into potzol and dirt with shovels, so by using the rooted dirt in a secondary spruce-wood farm, you can produce regular dirt as well. What I'm excited for is to see this in ultra-hardcore skyblocks, since dirt production is rare. Iron and redstone can be obtained in skyblocks automatically with iron farms and witch farms, so the biggest barrier to a machine like this would be the tnt duping and obtaining a single moss block to start things off. I don't think sand is renewable by any means currently unfortunately, so obtaining tnt in the first place seems impossible in skyblock

As a redstone novice, it’s incredible watching ilmango chain together modules and mechanisms. Having the interesting high level ideas explained. The low level or medium level things are second nature to ilmango and are only explained when they’re interesting, so I don’t get confused interpreting how the redstone components do things, I just hear “block stream” and get it. It’s cool to see how the details of the implementation can affect rates, efficiency, ease of building, lag, and so on. And how the ideas evolve.

It's got nothing to do with the chest. It's just that the hopper update order looks cares about the Y level. This is so hopper towers work as expected. Note that you can override this update order by manually placing the hoppers yourself. However, when you reload the chunk, the update order will reset.

a very good design indeed. in fact, i feel like this concept, but focusing more on the wood part instead of the rooted dirt (obtaining both, but losing some time on collecting the trees) could probably not only be almost self-suficient but also probably be the best azalea tree farm design out there in terms of bonemeal/wood obtained rates.

For anyone who made this farm, if you all of a sudden start having your mud stream dry up: try to place a 64 stack of empty bottles and 4 water bottles in each of the 5 slots of the hoppers below the top hopper minecart. So for each of the 3 hoppers below it: 1 full stack of empty bottles, and 4 full water bottles. This seems to fix issues where these hoppers become full with waterbottles when the farm misses a tic.

this has got to be the most clever farm of yours ive seen. the trick with the waterlogged stair and acacia, the constraints of fitting all the mechanisms for the rooted dirt farm into a limited space, the necessity to make systems that account for a wildly varying input speed--all just extremely good stuff

Love this and use it in my singleplayer world! One issue I run into from time to time when the machine is off is that a zombie will spawn inside the chamber where the azalea sapplings are grown and it will pick up and item and prevent the blockstream from flowing normally, messing up the stone generator. Not sure how to prevent this, but if you're on singleplayer and have a weird issue with one stone generator exploding, check this area!

"much better auto mud farm" yeah, when it works correctly. I have found several occasions where it will casually just cause a catastrophe. Everything from two pistons trying to clash with each other, the pistons in the back at the beginning where the stone generators are getting pushed up by stone, you name it. When it works, it's great. When it doesn't... well, hope you remember where everything is, 'cause you're gonna need to fix it.

( adding double extender to move the stone / changing all the timing ) I understand that it's more efficient having the main moss block under the stone now that we can ( since it's 4 block added by module ) but for all the rest ? ( and i see aswell that the piston in the middle were clearly overkill, didn't knew that sign could prevent a piston from pushing tbh haha ) Are you going to make a video about it, explaining that "new" version ? To make it TNT-Dupe Patch proof, could we potentially just push the logs next to burning Netherrack. I was going to originally suggest pushing them one 12x12x1 sheet at a time over a 12x1x12 floor of burning netherrack, with a whole system dedicated to pushing down unburnt logs, but realized we could just snake them all through a Burning Nether-rack S-Maze of sorts, built in proper length such that eventually every one of them has been consumed. Maybe we could alternate which maze we feed them into every once in a while so as to allow them to sit still for a while (if moving them puts out the fire), but that requires a counter system. Not certain how complex they get, if it just grows by 2^n, n being the layers of counter, then I really wouldn't mind it, but if it requires some ungodly mix of mini counters alongside the main counter to hit a specific number before it flips, it's not going to be an easy build.

Wouldn't it be slightly better in terms of resource costs (nether quarz for observers) to use something like oak doors for that observer tower up to the TNT dupers? You could delay it further with repeaters there, but use less observers (And even less redstone for the note blocks) to transmit the signal.
