In a significant protocol breach at New Delhi Airport, passengers arriving from overseas were dropped at the domestic arrivals section of the airport’s Terminal 3. Air India was the airline involved in this breach and tried rectifying the situation as soon as it was alerted.

To my best understanding third country nationals are not allowed to fly from Minsk to Moscow or vice versa for this very reason.

I guess the agency is TATA owned and since Air India is now owned by them, they are kinda hiring themselves. I think this is because all other services including the buses, food for passengers, etc. is all done by the different companies of TATA group.

Various financial and legal reasons. Basically it saves them money and looks better on financial statements.

That happens quite frequently at the airport I work in Germany... noone ever got fired because of that. I feel sorry for that bus driver.

Yes, but that is because EU requires passport checks at the country of origin and most of these international flights are actually within EU

Airlines must stop handing over their ground handling to third parties. They bring most of the damage to the airline’s reputation. Air India can atleast handle their ground operations in Mumbai and Delhi on their own.

By having third parties handle ground handling it saves the airlines money and looks better on their financial statements. And when mishaps like this happen they are more than happy to shift the blame to someone else.

Actually everywhere in India the ground operations of Air India and other airlines of TATA Group i.e. Vistara, Air india xpress, air asia the ground operations are handled by air india's subsidiary AIASL-Air India Airport services limited. So AI doesn't hand over this to 3rd party company. but to their own subsidiary

I hope that there is no terrible ego problem with airport management. Some professionals in senior positions just scapegoat juniors for serious errors! Communication breakdowns, sloppy management and late upskilling are the cause of blunders.

This happens at LAX every few years despite TBIT being heavily upgraded. LAX moves so slowly that nothing usually comes of it.

Air India needs to pay the premium for aerobridges, instead of cheaping out and making passengers take the shuttle to the terminal. Why outsource this rather than handle this themselves, especially at New Delhi, which is their main hub airport? New management, same old Air India.

Have there been able to get back into the secure part of the international terminal if they go through passenger transfer because don't the airport set up like these have international to domestic and domestic to international passenger transfer

India airline security standards are among the world’s lowest. I have experienced small children standing in the their seat while landing. It’s like everything else in India, low quality low safety and very dirty.
