This was such a blast to do! I wouldn’t have watched this movie without you 😂❤

The movie isn’t perfect but I’ve already rewatched it many times already as it feels more healing. It made me feel better about the whole season five fiasco. The things I liked are: Gabriel didn’t enjoy being a villain. In fact, in the movie, he was a sad man who lost himself in grief and sorrow and got corrupted by the power. I loved how hesitant he was in using the miraculous at first as he didn’t want to hurt anyone or destroy Paris but then he finally makes his decision when the corruption got the best of him. And even though he wasn’t a bad person, he still did bad things and I love how realistic it was to have him arrested and not get a slap on the wrist. He stops when he realizes the harm he inflicted on his son and actually regretted it!!! The “my little boy! What have I done!” lines actually hurt my heart. Now that is how you write a sympathetic villain. A not so bad man making bad decisions instead of a psycho who just enjoys being a villain. I like marinette being shy and alone due to her insecurities and klutziness but gains confidence as a superhero. Her especially being shy around her crush is relatable and her newfound confidence actually allows her to talk to him like a normal person. She only stumbled here and there rather than all the time. She was actually able to befriend him and hang out with him like a normal person. Her awkwardness didn’t over stay it’s welcome and her quirkiness is actually cute. And she’s not a stalker so there’s that. I also like og Felix Adrien. He’s a bit more sassy and assertive. He wasn’t afraid to call out his father which was a kicker to his fathers path to redemption. He is basically a moody teen grieving over loosing his mother and listens to music as a distraction to cope with his loss. He’s flirtatious and fun as his superhero persona. He’s still friendly and kind as he was probably one of the first people to show concern for Marinette which makes her falling for him make more sense. He’s kind, gentle and sweet to her despite thinking she’s weird but also seems to find that part of herself endearing. I know people complain when he acts cold towards ladybug after being rejected, not to excuse him, but I find it understandable with how loosing his mother and being neglected by his father would take a toll on his emotional being. He wants to be loved and when there’s a longing, it makes it all the more harder to accept rejection that that person you’ve confessed to and feel strongly towards doesn’t return that love. He knows that he can’t force someone to love him back, he knows its not right getting mad but it’s how he feels and he never learned to cope in a healthy way. It’s his right to feel how he feels, he just had to learn how to handle it. And I love that he cried happy tears upon learning who the girl was behind the mask and it was the girl who loved him all along which clears up a misunderstanding. Meaning he wasn’t truly rejected after all. That’s part of teen drama, there will be heartbreak, rejections and even misunderstandings. Also, Chloe and Sabrina were treated with respect. So there’s a bonus. And there’s no Zoe or Lila. The characters aren’t idiots and no world ending consequences for identity reveal. And GENDER EQUALITY!!!!!!! Stronger together!!! That’s going to be on my new t shirt.

What I liked about the film is that it felt a little more like the pv than the show. Though of course Marinette was a little more shy then her pv counterpart, but with Adrien he did feel a little bit like og Felix. Then you see the fiery world like at the end of the pv and that made me happy to see it being used.

I think it was a good movie. Except Plagg. Why did they make him a fart joke?! That's not the tsndere caring cheese loving Cat! That's an abomination!

Haven't watch the movie yet but the fact Thomas didn't write this makes it more consistent. I am a budding writer and worldbuilder, Thomas is a example to me of what not to do. Great Review. Please don't call yourself cringe. Edit: Grammar.

The one thing I loved that they changed was Gabriel's/Hawkmoth's reaction to the fact that his own son was Chat Noir. I had a *MAJOR* problem with Show-Hawkmoth's reaction. In the show, Hawkmoth learns multiple times (in the time travel/alternate timeline bs the show loves) that Adrien is Chat Noir, and is thrilled by this news because "Oh shit, my life is so much easier now!" This made me lose all respect for Gabriel as a character aside from having one of my favorite English VAs. In the movie, he had the reaction I originally hoped for/expected. He's HORRIFIED that he's unintentionally and unknowingly caused his son to be directly in harm's way for the sake of his own goals. This should have been what was in the show, a man who realizes how insane his plan is because he finally realizes what effect this is having on people, especially Adrien, his son and the last piece of his wife that still remains with him

🐈‍⬛🐞 (SPOILERS AHEAD!) I've mentioned this to some of my friends, but to me, the movie feels like it's tailor-made for people who liked the potential of Miraculous but were disappointed and/or frustrated with its lackluster execution. Hence why I liked it so much xD I agree with you guys that there are still things that could've been handled better with a potentially longer runtime, but it was overall a breath of fresh air from the trainwreck that the show ended up being. Seeing an identity reveal that DIDN'T get reset, Gabriel and Adrien finding out the other's secret, and Gabriel feeling ACTUAL regret for putting his son in danger, are things that I will ALWAYS be grateful at this movie and Jeremy Zag for actually doing. It was fun hearing your and Callimara's thoughts on this film! Wouldn't mind you guys collabbing again in the future (doesn't have to be MLB-related btw, since I know you guys would rather escape the show 😂) Also, YES! Queen Bee for movie 2 please! 👏 Good news is, Jeremy Zag actually does have a great fondness for Queen Bee, and at this point, I definitely trust him with Chloé's character more than Thomas Astruc. So here's hoping. 🤞

Something you guys talked about how Hawkmoth seemed kinda fun That's something that I really wanted to see because I always felt like how Adrien and Marinette let their "true selves" under the mask, Gabriel also did, he really got into the whole super villain drama As weird as it was, HE LIKES BEING A VILLAIN, he even talks to Mayura when they're alone like they're super villains, it's like they're role playing and stuff, in the show it's established in S4-S5 that Gabriel had kinda of a Marinette origin, he was a no one and did his art in ways to make other people happy express himself even if it was some goofy stuff like making a superhero based on food, but that he left that after growing and meeting Emilie It's not something very deep in the show (because thomas can't write) but it's kinda there, so every scene where Hawkmoth is enjoying villainy makes me happy because it makes something very cartoonish into a part of his character, really wished we got more time with him in the movie considering that IT SEEMS like Mayura will be the main villain in the second one, and Gabriel is in prison

At this point, fanfics written by kids are better than the show 😅

The whole Marinette getting embarrassed by her Dad situation might get resolved in the sequel of this movie. YES THERE IS GOING TO BE 2 OR 3 Awakening moivie's. Also we might see what happened to Gabriel in the next movie 🎬

i think the quantum masking is still there, but it's only the mask, if IT IS DAMAGED them you will able to recognize that person, in the movie the suits aren't indestructible like the show (to not have to create battle damaged models) so yeah

The movie isn't perfect, but the premise is much better than the show. Still, I feel the movie needed to be a trilogy or a show in order to fully flesh out the characters, as it seemed kind of rushed. Perhaps if the TV show had the premise and story of the movie, it would have been better. Jeremy Zag should've been the writer, not Astruc.

The prison HawkMoth visited is actually exists in the real world, in Paris. A long time ago, because of a contagious sickness people were dying. And when there were no more places left to burry the bodies they build that underground place to put the bodies in. That's why there were skulls everywhere Also, in the early versions of the storyboard, after Ladybug and Cat Noir actually fought HawkMoth together Gabriel sacrificed himself and Adrien hopelessly screamed his name a few times.That's problably why we didn't see what happened to Gabriel. And why the end credits only had Gabriel's voice while Nathalie was alone. Nathalie might not know Adrien's identity. Gabriel might refused to tell her his son's secret

🐞🐈‍⬛ Okay, I'll make another comment once I finish the video, but I'm currently at about 43 minutes and I gotta get this out of the way, because otherwise I'll forget later xD (Spoilers btw) I actually feel like, while it was still imperfect, the movie did pull off the equality between Ladybug and Chat WAY better than the show did, for one simple thing: Working together ACTUALLY does make them stronger! Not even figuratively, but their powers literally become more effective when they work as a team as opposed to individuals! That's why Hawkmoth ultimately did beat them when they each tried to take him down by themselves, and he only lost because he realized he was attacking his son (something that IMO also makes him superior to show Gabe, because that guy was beyond careless towards his son's safety multiple times 😑) And I think the crowd only cheered for Ladybug at the end because she was the only one there. Adrien was with his dad, and considering how it's implied Gabriel was arrested and the news was there and all that, it would've made sense for Adrien to go hide while all that happened, since his mask was torn and that would've exposed his identity to the entire planet. But if Chat had been with Ladybug when she gave that final speech, I feel like they would've cheered for him, too. It's not like the show where he's standing RIGHT THERE and the people only see Ladybug. 🙄 So yeah, in summary, Ladybug and Chat felt like much more of an actual team here, and splitting up was actually detrimental for them. So I personally don't feel like the "hero and her sidekick" thing would've worked for this iteration.

It's been a minute since I've seen The Hercules Disney movie, but I do see the similarities, but can we also appreciate who great of a bad guy voice that Kieth Silverstein has? I know that he didn't voice hades (he was voiced by James Woods), but I kind of hold Kieth in regard with the acclaimed voice actor Jim Cummings who also has a voice that is I think fits well for the role of a bad guy, and both Jim and Kieth have voiced multiple villains throughout their careers.

I actually had the same idea of getting a bunch of Miraculous KZfaqrs together to talk about this movie, but I'm a small channel and always a bit nervous about talking to bigger KZfaqrs. You hear all the time about whiny kids demanding big KZfaqrs shout them out, which always scares me to come off that way. Which is why TVC is my only friend in this fandom. She's the only one I had the courage to reach out to.

Short answer: Why yes of course!

AHHHH I'M SO EXCITED!!! Two of my favorite artists and KZfaqrs collabing on a video 🤩

Here are some things that I wished that was done in the show. First off I think it would've been cool if Marinette and Nathalie interacted with each other since it would've been an interesting dynamic. Another thing I wished is that Adrien and Juleka had a brother and sisterly bond since with Luka gone and both of their superhero forms are based off of felines they would've had a elder brother and younger sister bond and Adrian's influence could boost up Julia's confidence. As for the episodes on season 5, it don't think tweet-seven…well sort of twenty-six episodes might not be enough. To me I think there should've been around thirty episodes, while others should be rescripted. Also it would've been cool if we had more London scenes and explored a bit more on Luka's journey for the with Su Han. Now here's a thing that the movie did which season 5 should've done, now is don't want to sound greedy or ungrateful but it is Gabriel's personality. Things might have gone better if they made Gabriel a little more considerate like in the movie instead of reversing and making things a little cliche with his role. It only took one episode for him to revert to his ways and go back on his promise to Adrian. Seriously very very cliche. To me I think it would've been better if they treated his role different while Kagami's mother and Lila were the ones trying to ruin Marinette and Adrian's relationship. Also speaking of Marinette and Adrian's relation ship, the movie handled everything perfectly and even made a reveal scene, while I think the show should've done that instead of stretch on diluting it out. Also there really should've been more answers than questions instead of more questions than answers. Seriously, to me I just hope Jeremy Zag handles thing better for the show. I don't want to sound greedy or ungrateful but seriously, the season keeps pulling this. Also, the season is kinda similar to Hello Neighbor when the game left us with more questions than answers.

To explain the singing choice (which I also thought was weird), the singer for Marinette is also the Frech dub's speaking voice, and she wouldn't agree to do the French dub unless she did the singing for the English dub. And they kind of needed a French dub since it's a French show. Also I'm not too sure how true this is, but I also heard they considered the casting choice because they thought Cristina had too strong of a singing voice for Marinette's character.

This started playing Right after the song I had on. I went from shooting Replicants to rock, to shooting then while hearing about teen drama and magic.

While this movie is not perfect, and could really improve on some stuff, this movie saved my interest in Miraculous and delivered what the show couldn’t. To summarize, it’s good but flawed.

Well, that section about Adrian being sad that a girl that he works with and sees her at her best and being hot, in his opinion I don't really care, basically broke his heart and it's obvious that he doesn't open up as much as the original is and your co hort calling him a bitch and pathetic really was a turn off but I'm continuing to watch because that's so far is my only issue.

Hey Aloubell This collab is very interesting and cool 🤩 i love callimara Videos I love this the movie ! 🐞🐈 Jeremy zag mixed the Show! Chloè was not a Monster but a normal mean girl Type of bully and Sabrina was amazing! I loved her Sabrina in the movie because in the Show she is Kind of mean ( yeah , she did get a redemtion arc in season 5 and it was understandabel because of Lila and stuff like that ) Marinette was not a creppy Stalker , just a normal shy clumsy girl ! I actually mostly enjoyed this movie, which really surprised me. But also, the show is so bad that anything was going to be an improvement. I do definitely think this movie would have been better if they had another 10 - 20 minutes to flesh out some character development, magic rules and some plot points. Still, it's way better than the show.
