He has had experience in kids pulling alarms to cause chaos or to postpone tests they don't want to take. It was thoughtful of him to provide a clear example of his own intellectual and developmental maturity.

His "school" is trash also. In the "academy" he founded like 1/3 of the people there can read at their grade level and 1/4 of them can preform basic arithmetic at their grade level. So if those are the numbers for his "students" maybe he can't tell.

The sad thing is, I’ve met Democrat voters who will most likely use this as an excuse as to why he pulled it.

It's not even an accident. He pulled it intentionally, knowing it was a fire alarm, but thinking that would unlock the door. It's beyond stupidity.

They know we're not that stupid and they're banking on the fact a lot of dems will even say he was confused because they know it will piss us off. Each thing they do is intentional and it's like a seed being planted that will hopefully lead to a full blown altercation between a pissed off white Republican and them. He was a principal or vice principal of a school. He would have organized, participated in, and conducted the response from pulling the fire alarm on many occasions. Schools on thr US conduct fire drills and instructional training so that both students and staff can orderly and safely exist the building in case of a fire. It's hard to imagine someone in that environment at that high of a level or position not understanding what first graders across the country are expected to understand.

Same boat as OP. Some 15 years ago in high school the plastic covering of the fire alarm baited the curiosity of me. I knew the handle would trigger the alarm, but a plastic cover? Turns out it's the exact same thing. Boy, I was more red than the alarm with embarrassment.

The funny part is that this cartoon actually _downplays_ how preposterous it is. In reality, the fire alarm wasn't even on the same wall as the door, let alone right next to it. It was on a perpendicular wall, away from the door. Even someone from a thrid world Country, who couldn't read English, would not think the fire alarm would open the door.

Why do we even entertain their lies? Are we really that desperate to find good in them?

the uni dorm i was at with my gf needed those... every week you could guarantee some day someone would set off a fire alarm a 2 in the bloody morning and everyone would have to be stood outside for an hour or more while the fire department checked the entire building. and no one ever got punished.
