When you have extra tomato paste measure it out by the Tablespoon into an ice tray. Once it is frozen you can put it in a bag/container and the next time you need 1 Tbsp of tomato paste, you just use one cube. 👍

As I don’t really measure tomato paste I bypass the ice cube tray and just put it straight into the baggie. I flatten the bag so I can easily break off frozen pieces as needed. I use frequently so in the freezer door works for me. But, as frozen leftovers get lost/forgotten in my freezer I now use a tub in my freezer to hold those hard to find things and a small items that fall out when I open the door. The bin I use takes up about 1/4 of the space (camping wash size Rubbermaid bin). When hungry and in a hurry or haven’t done groceries - pull the bin out and enjoy a mystery meal.

I have made this at least three times since I stumbled on this recipe about two months ago. I absolutely love it. I will be making it for a get together with friends. Fairly new to the plant based way of living. I haven’t had any meat since May 2022 and I am hoping to get my family on board as well. Thanks for all the great recipes and the moments of laughter. Good health to everyone.

Taste the rainbow with this one!!! Very interesting with that amount of lemon indeed. Definitely gonna try this style since it covers more veggie variety. I try to spare cooking the veggies to death like in the old days or how my family did things. I believe el dente keeps the live enzymes for maximum health benefit. So i would lean to cooking all at the same time starting with hardest to soft. Maybe if your families have the time to experiment with different cooking times to give us your taste review to see if going rogue is too detrimental to it. I love how you talk about the serendipity of how we cook with what we have. I threw together a chili recently using what i had to include sweet potatoes and lentils for the first time and found it to be fantastic! BUT for days I was having an odd feeling about it that i couldn't put my finger on until a friend said he really enjoyed that i didn't put beans in it... lol i guess this is part of getting old. I think i made Dahl. Imagine if they served this in hospitals how healthy patients would be!!!

How long do you cook it? My Mama, God bless her, had a set answer for that question. She was born at the beginning of the 20th century on a farm in rural South Georgia. She cooked on wood stoves, kerosene stoves, gas stoves and loved her microwave at the end of her cooking career. Mama’s answer to how long you cook it? “Til it’s done!”

I’m trying plant based intermittent fasting and am experiencing extreme hunger. Suggestions?
@bakarangerpinku
@bakarangerpinku 2 жыл бұрын
Depending on what you’re doing, you might require actual food. Sometimes fasting isn’t suitable… Have a smoothie. It sounds like you’re not ready to be water fasting. It sounds like you’re in the stage of needing to wean yourself down on food before you can fast. But you’re just trying to go hard core water fasting. Smoothies for now. You’re going to get some nutrition, but you’re going to grow accustomed to not actually chewing your food which prepares you for fasting. That’s also probably part of it but you don’t realize. So, if you binge the day before you planned fast, you’re probably not going to be able to do it lol. Or, you have great willpower and you _can_ do it, but you make it that much harder for yourself. 😅 Fasting isn’t for everybody. Personally I want to do a Daniel Fast, because doing a water fast doesn’t really agree with me. The last time I did that I had hallucinations and I think I might’ve been knocking on death’s door for some reason. I probably have something undiagnosed that says I should never go without for days on end… Anyway, please consider that every _body_ is different. Maybe it’s really not for you. What’s good for one person, isn’t always good for the next person. Think about going on a Daniel Fast. The food list is even more strict than theirs lol. Usually people do the Daniel Fast to get closer to God, and for breakthrough in their life, but you can do it for anything. Other people have experienced miraculous healing when they’ve done this fast because they were asking for healing. Trust me. It’s still fasting. You think it’s not fasting when you go into it because you’re eating food, but when you start eating the Daniel Fast foods, you realize it’s still totally fasting. Good luck and GBY!

3:01 NO! Jane, you actually should have waited. Because minced garlic is so small, it cooks much faster than everything else in there, and then it burns. When it burns, it makes it bitter. Maybe you’re okay with the bitter flavor, Jane, but I don’t like it either, Ann! It only really takes 15-60 seconds to cook. Beyond that is bitter and burnt… Okay carry on lol.
