I really enjoy watches and that's why I started this channel so I could review them regularly but my satisfaction is not found in owning or experiencing watches, no matter how many I may accumulate or how luxurious and expensive they may be . . .

The truth is, material possessions of any kind, money, power, etc. never can and never will satisfy our hungering souls. Only knowing, loving, and serving God can truly satisfy.

Alpina puts out some exceptional designs that are both rugged and reliable. I have the Startimer Pilot Heritage. I really like the watch you reviewed and I will have to check it out.

@@somewhereintimewatchreviews Yeah, that one is a little pricey. You might check out the brand Dan Henry and Spinnaker I believe they both have compressor style watches although Spinnaker might not produce theirs any more.

They use a sellita movement SW200. They use their own custom rotor. They source out the movements like most. Usually ETAs or Sellitas are the two that manufactures use.

Very nicely done review. The color combination is actually very nice. I actually have a Helson Hammerhead. It’s a Homage if the Longiness, very nicely done, mine has an ETA 2824-2, but the also have amore affordable Miyota 9015 Version. They are Hong Kong based but make very good watches. If you are interested you should check them out, they occasionally have 15% off sales.

@@TheTownWatch I've just seen the "just one more watch" review of the black and cream Alpina Heritage and while I can understand his gripes about the quirky position of the crowns and the date window...but honestly I find these little oddities give the watch some charm and a uniqueness of its own. If anything it would endear it to me even more. Some people crave symmetry and that's fine. Their eyes find anything not symmetrical weird and off-putting. For me, my visual preference is contrast...thats why I am drawn to the bronze seastrong heritage with the white rotating bezel...that white contrast with the brown sunburst dial just does it for me and the quirkiness of the layout is maybe too odd for some but I find it a charm 😊 but hey...each to their own as they say 👍

Kevin Tyrrell Yes, I agree with you. I mention some of the same things he does in his review but in the end they don’t make me love the watch any less. Actually, a number of compressor style watches don’t have symmetrical crowns.

Beautiful watch, I'd wear it proudly!! Unfortunately...it exceeds my $500ish Canadian max affordability limit...most of mine are well under that. LOL. I am a cheap watch person...Tissot, Seiko, Steeldive, Addiesdive, Heimdallr, Vostok...etc. I am a firm believer, we can get a pretty decent watch without getting a mortgage. :)

Amazing watch that could be sold for 3k if it was longines. Looks better than the lld too. Have you considered the tuxedo one/what's your opinion on it? Or the new model without the date? Also i would recommend getting a 22mm shark mesh and trying to fit it in. Looks amazing

How are you feeling about the date window? JOMW kinda ruined it for me. I probably would have never noticed it until he pointed it out. Certainly not a deal breaker but it seems odd. You definitely got the best looking dial of the spectrum. I’m looking for a compressor, just not sure which yet.

I definitely do not like AR coating on the exterior of the crystal. I’ve had bad luck keeping the integrity of the AR. It scratches and smudges permanently in my experience.

Hey Levi, yeah I watched JOMW’s review this morning we said a lot of the same things in the end although I did not really mention the date window too much. It seemed like the date window shape and position was a deal breaker for him along with the crowns not being symmetrical. For me, these things are not an issue. I think I recall seeing other compressor style watches where the crowns were not symmetrical too. As far as the AR coating goes, I don’t have any previous experience with top coated crystals so I’ll have to wait and see how it holds up! Thanks for stopping by, hope you’re doing well!

I really liked this watch at first glance, but the more I looked, the more the design details bothered me. The date window could have been placed at 6 o'clock, the crowns could have been symmetrically positioned, the indices seem to disappear into the chocolate dial (at most angles), who decided that 21mm would be the optimum lug width and for a 300 meter dive watch to have only the hands and bezel pip lumed makes it totally non-functional. I have both reissue and original supercompressor watches. Perhaps if could have scored one at $459, would overlook the flaws (probably not for long), but asking $1800, time spent on better design is expected, IMO.

ctw2450 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, I agree with much of what you are saying but as you said, I am willing to overlook these things for getting this watch so cheap. I really believe it is high quality craftsmanship on par with the Longines plus I like the dial style more than the Longines (minus the date window placement). Also, I could be wrong, but I believe the crown positions on the Longines are not symmetrical either.

The crowns being "symmetrical" would make it look like a steampunk gadget, they're far more aesthethically pleasing where they are. The date window is meant to line up with the crown and be trippy. lug width is decided based on aesthethics and design, not on your strap collection. Dive watches aren't functional, you use diving computers, watches are fashion accessories not tools and haven't been since the 70s, back when rolex was viewed as a screwdriver and not a status symbol. The design is good and clearly they spent a lot of time, otherwise it would look generic like the ones you wear. Also this is the same quality as a watch that's $3300 and you're complaining about price lol

@@Ballacha No one actually uses any "dive watch" for diving. You'd be an idiot to do so. Any diver knows you use a dedicated dive computers and certainly not a mechanical watch. They are a fashion item pure & simple, just like any watch these, but esp. automatic or manual watches. And I have a pair of skis I use on grass and sand - even used them on the street once, it's a thing - people are free to do whatever they want with their stuff. Get over it.

@@ckm-mkc lmao. it's totally fine that a diving watch is pressure tested to 20atm. but when people complain why a watch capable of going to 200m static water depth comes with a strap that disintegrates in water, you are suddenly triggered. news flash kid, no one needs a watch for anything. it's all looks and fantacy. why don't you go to a flieger watch review and cry about how it's too legible and no one needs that much legibility anymore? yikes.
