Sure, I'm willing to believe that communities can bear arms and be peaceful. Responsible gun ownership is what is really needed. In order for that to happen, especially in cities, there needs to be a robust system of safety checks, criminal background checks, and mental health screenings before people can buy guns. A lot of states lack even those basic measures and checks, which is so unfortunate.

In Croatia you have to have , not one, but three licences for a gun. Identity card, permit to possess and permit to carry weapons in public. The general conditions are: that he passed the hunting test, that he/she has not been legally convicted and that no criminal proceedings have been initiated against him/her. that he has not been legally punished in the Republic of Croatia and that no proceedings have been initiated against her for misdemeanors with elements of violence... and 5 other very strict conditions. P.S. Nobody EVER protested against that law.

Ex criminals can't have guns over here unless they appeal to get their rights back, but often times someone still manages to get some illegally. People still need to get a background check over here... ever since the 1960s. The school shooter kids often had mental health issues and wanted attention and they figured that's the only way to get 15 minutes of fame. After accounting for 5 cities with the highest gun violence rate, we rank the 4th safest country in the world. We also live next door to countries that have extreme gun control and they are overrun by cartels to the point migrants try to escape from there, so that's make a good reason to keep guns. Plus... The government is genocide happy and the cops don't really protect us that well

Were pretty egotistic compared to being logical. No one wants to live in harmony. We all want to live secluded. I think we should have free access to mental health care where its almost mandatory before going in for a background check. Shouldn't own a gun if you are prone to being a fuck up

Especially when the government changes the definition of mass shooting to mean "four or more people wounded." They did this in order to include black on black crimes in the statistic; just like when they changed the definition of rape to mean "anyone having sex under the age of 18," which skyrocketed the statistic. Back then, they had commercials lamenting "There is a rape every six seconds." Now they lament "There are 748 mass shootings per year." It's just political propaganda to FRIGHTEN We The People. Cuz, when people are frightened, they begin looking for someone to save them... and, that's when the government steps in and says, "We're here to protect you." That's how fascism and communism and totalitarianism and every other ism begins. The Founding Fathers created the Second Amendment in order to protect the United States from being taken over by sick, power-hungry regimes that want nothing more than to disarm its populace and use them as slaves. Just like they did in Australia.

Here I am again. Another mass shooting in American. Another revisit of this incredible piece of standup. I share this video once again with every American platform I can reach in the hope America finally changes its laws on guns in its country and once again, there will be another few protests and it’ll all go quiet again until the next time and the cycle repeats. Rest in peace to the victims in Nashville this week. I’m so sorry.

You might not be familiar with the 2nd amendment we have here in America the constitution says A well regulated (regulated means organized) militia being necessary to the security of the free state the right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed. This was put in place to give us a way to protect ourselves from our government being tyrannical. Yes kids are dying but if you want a real solution put trained armed guards in schools. In a country with firearm ownership it’s just stupid to make a no gun zone and expect people who want to kill others just to respect a sign.
@BlackNomad1
@BlackNomad1 Жыл бұрын
@@igorzisky armed guards does not resolve the issue. A simple stoppage of selling the extreme guns would do wonders. There’s no reason why assault rifles need to be easily available. You can protect yourself, your family and rise up against a tyrannical government using a pistol. You don’t need assault rifles for that. If you have armed guards in schools, you have people living in fear. So then they buy more guns. More guns means more risk people use them. Means more deaths. Suddenly the government that has allowed such an act will be hated by others and as so many Americans would have the means, they’d use their weapons to take out the government. So you’d end up creating another civil war. And the end of structured society in America. America would stop being america. Is that what you want?
@gixG17
@gixG17 Жыл бұрын
@@igorzisky It's not about making a "no gun zone." This isn't like people are trying to stop others from smoking. The idea would be to ban ownership of guns from the entire country. The issue is the very idea that the USA is a country with firearm. As an international neighbour, I'm not familiar with any of the amendments to the USA constitution (nor am I familiar with the constitution itself) and I apologize if it comes as a bit brash but I'll tell you this: - Other countries manage very well without either having guns or a tyrannical government. Something's terribly wrong if, in this day and age, people have so much distrust in their own electoral proceedings that they FEAR tyranny and they're ironically willing to prioritize this "freedom" at the expense for their own safety. - I understand that the amendment was written as a way to acknowledge and learn from one's mistakes. The USA is a superpower now (compared to the bygone era prior to its independence). However you slice it, the resistance to change the constitution any further on that regard is enabling more mistakes to happen. - Your proposed "real solution" is for the government to invest more money into having more firearms near children by putting trained, armed guards like they're supposed to be at national borders... instead of eliminating a REAL, frequent national threat and investing that money into a better educational system. I don't believe that an environment where shootouts are prone to break out (regardless of who is involved) is a good and safe place for children to learn. With all due respect, you can't tell me it's to keep an organized militia in the event that your government is tyrannical when the Uber driver I took the other day (when traveling in Los Angeles) claimed to be carrying a gun in the car. I don't think people care about the 2nd amendment; they use it as an excuse to protect themselves from other civilians. Your nation could make another amendment and change things for the better but the entire world knows that won't happen.
@igorzisky
@igorzisky Жыл бұрын
@@gixG17 Yes, other countries do fine without their law-abiding citizens having guns, their criminals still have guns, however. No one should trust their government they are all run people and if history has shown us anything it's that people want power and will stop at nothing to achieve that power. It only takes one or two power hungry people to make a government tyrannical. “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety” is a quote and motto attributed to Benjamin Franklin. No, the amendment was not written for one to acknowledge and learn from their mistakes it was written to avoid tyranny. And the constitution was written as a base of principles on which this country was to run.
@igorzisky
@igorzisky Жыл бұрын
As to your the armed guards will just create shootouts thats just not true they are there as a deterrent and if worst comes to worst protection against an active threat. Lets think about this if there is an active threat you call the police when they show up to protect you what do they have? They have guns. If we already had a police presence patrolling the schools during a school day the shootings would drop. As for the uber driver he was with in his constitutional rights being able to defend yourself form other civilians is also what the 2a allows you to do. If someone attacks me I want the best tool available to defend myself with which is a gun. The police will not always get there in time its up to you to protect yourself.

It has a little target in the middle of it. You are observe and report dead guy! The call would go something like this. HI!!! PD! That is way more than the average security guard makes! I was a security guard for 6 years with several different companies. Most I ever made was $11 an hour for unarmed security. To even get an armed guard license to hopefully get maybe an extra $2 an hour you had to pay at least $300 for the training course AND provide your own gun! You also couldn't carry anything larger than a small handgun. Unless you just want to protect students for the fun of it and risk getting shot by an assault rifle what is the point?

+heybigsplendour I honestly have a hard time grasping the mental gymnastics here for the average pro-gun control person. You are aware of the Paris attacks last year? So if gun violence is enabled by liberal gun laws, as you imply, then how could the Paris attacks have happened at all? It seems to me they couldn't, which would then mean it's doubtful that it's because of the US gun laws and gun ownership. That and general crime and gun crime are declining in the US despite a steady gun ownership rate.
@crazypants88

***** That's my point, they can't be bought legally in France, yet that didn't stop the attackers from using the illegal guns to murder innocents. What doesn't make sense is to be for a measure that you yourself just stated won't work. That doesn't make sense. Please work this out for me, how are the US gun laws to blamed here when you literally just admitted it didn't stop the attacks in France? This is what they call doublethink.

Fix prisons, fix healthcare, fix education and mental health systems; this violence wouldn't be happening. These types of shootings are very specifically tied to young white men feeling like society has left them behind to rot. There is a weird level of disassociation these people have with those around them. Mix of incel beliefs and white nationalism, and a touch of paranoia. All of this can be remedied but we just yell about other nonissues while nothing changes.
