I remember back in the arcade days you'd walk in and the SF2 cab would be all the way in the back and you could hear those damn elephants from the entrance.

For as bare bones his moveset was in this game, Zangief's strongest feature was without a doubt his *SPD.* Besides being one of the most damaging moves in the game, landing it gave Zangief some of the most *_disgusting_* Oki with the greatest of ease, all because he didn't get put full screen after landing it, letting Zangief *keep* his pressure going, just to land another SPD to start it all over again. If Smug fought MegamanX-8 on *_this,_* he'd never sleep at night.

if you mean dhalsim's spinning jump/air attacks... it's not so much the move itself... but rather just dhalsim, who's slow... all of his attacks (and his movement too, aside from his slide, lol) is so slow the down-angled one, is a bit better... it still will be easily punished (if I remember right), but the more forward spinning air/jump one... that's just suicidal for you... lol

the big problem with dhalsim (aside from being slow)... his long extension punchs and kicks... can get hit... they're a "double edge sword"... as, with some practice, people can get good at hitting dhalsim's long range extending punches and kicks

at least in the original/classic SF2, if I remember, there was actually a code input you had to do on/before the start-up/main-menu screen... in order to be able to have the 2nd palette for the characters, enabling mirror matches, lol I used to have it memorized... let's see... lol.... down, R, up, L, Y, B wow, I looked it up... I got it right!.... wow... I thought I had forgotten it... after these... few decades... lol

zangief's greatest feature is grabbing you from half screen lol

It's always 3/4 the screen distance at half map. So the closer to the corner your opponent gets the further zangief can be away to do spd. So in turn zangief can grab most characters just outside of their sweep in the corner. Mid screen he grabs at the edge of his hurt box.

Yoga Fire still sounds like oh damn fire to me. When I used Dhalsim in the arcade Zangief seemed to easily slap away Dhalsim's attacks.

ken/ryu (and "maybe" dhalsim) only ones that can take on guile, as you need fireballs to counter/match guile's fireballs (err, sonic booms)... no one else can do anything against guile...

well... I guess, you could use anyone against guile... and jump over his sonic booms... and if able, you'd get draws, or guile will come at you, and you can get damage/win on him, or guile comes at you, and still beats you, lol
