SCREEN UPDATE ISSUES?: Hello 3D Printing Friends! If you're having issues updating the LCD SCREEN, there are apparently newer versions of the LCD screen that DON'T look for the DWIN_SET folder, and instead look for a folder named *private* ...check this message on the JyersUI Github, from SiliconExarch: github.com/Jyers/Marlin/discussions/1768#discussioncomment-2078494

The Jyers firmware is incredible. My favorite feature has to be the mesh leveling, as it saved me the purchase of an ABL sensor. I get perfect first layers every time these days. The other added features like PID auto tune on the printer are very useful as well. Its incredible how much a simple firmware change can improve a printer. I swear..... I Was trying for hours to install the firmware from Creality and other videos and nothing was working to bring my CR touch leveling system on the UI of the stock screen. Every time I put a firmware on the sd card the V2 would NOT read anything. I tried so many different files and even choose the wrong board thinking they printed it on the board incorrectly. I had passed over your videos a dozen times feeling slightly intimidated about this, Jyers UI, never heard of it and this is my first ender printer so I wasn't about to experiment. Well, After loosing literally all hope I clicked and watch and hoped for the best. Your ability to explain things is on another level. you brought a sense of comfort with the level of detail you described all of the features. Funny thing to add, the screen flash didn't work but quickly went to the comments and found you update about changing the folder name to private and BAM, it worked. thank you so much for the content, I don't know what I would have done, I seriously was about to return the printer thinking the board was done with. I've been using the 5x5 manual mesh for a couple months now and it amazing. I highly recommend trying it out. Yes tuning each of the 25 points is a little tedious, but if you have a very irregular bed (I have a significant low spot dead center where everything is printed) it fully compensates for it and you don't really need to do it again. But besides the manual mesh, the whole firmware is just very well done (unlike the stock FW).

Possibly the greatest feature I’ve noticed was added fairly recently. You can do manual bed leveling with the BL touch. The probe moves to the corner and tells you how far up or down it is. It’s much more accurate than a piece of paper and my sense of touch. Within a few minutes I had my bed corners all leveled to within .01 mm from perfectly level. I’ll be changing my build plate to a magnetic spring steel plate in the next day so it’ll be nice to get it back to perfectly level in moments.

@@keviin1314 sure. Under “Prepare” choice “manual leveling”. Then check “use probe”. It’ll prob the bed a few times then let you select each point and tell you how high or low you are. Among the other noted benefits, I noticed that the useable print area is now 230*230mm, rather than the 200*200mm it allowed prior. Seems to be important to Reformat the SD card in FAT32 with 4k allocations to really make sure it's empty and readable. I did a full format the first time as the allocation was different and quick formats after that. Also if a firmware update fails and you get a blank screen try changing the bin file's name slightly before you try again. It seems it won't read in a bin if it's the same as the one it last saw. Firmware seems to be working now. :O)

If you just swap out the display, it just remains blank, and will go no further. You MUST upgrade the main boards software before hand, in order to have it work correctly. Update: Tried my first print with JyersUI and... NOT good. I had the bed leveled perfectly with both BL Touch and manual adjustments, started a print and the nozzle is a good 2-3mm off the print bed! Cancelled, homed the print head, dialed the Z down to zero, and the head was 2-3mm off the print bed again! Readjusted everything, got the bed back to level with the nozzle touching the bed at Z=0, started a print and AGAIN, the print head is 2-3mm off the bed! I can't figure out what is wrong and why it keeps doing that. I'm going to change to the 3 square version instead of the 5 square and see if it helps. BTW, the 5 square never finishes because the BL Touch goes off the right side of the bed.

I noticed how quickly the screen switched from blue to orange on my printer and I found out the screen hadn't updated at all. Looking in to how the screen works I found out that the sd-card reader on the screen doesn't support cards higher than 2Gb, so changing the card's format to 2Gb did the job. The screen stayed blue for a longer time before changing to orange and the screen's firmware was updated. Thanks for your video. Now I'm ready to try out the JyersUI.

Another great video, I followed your video while I upgraded my E3V2 and it worked flawlessly. Now I can change my z steps and it actually works. Love you channel and it is my go to for upgrades..

This is awesome compared to the factory firmware. The 5x5 mesh is great and the results in my bed visualization proves it. The white box around the selected item is also a welcome addition for those of us with older eyes. With no contrast control in the factory firmware it was always difficult for me to see exactly what icon was highlighted... now it's obvious. Well done, and great upgrade to my printer.

Great video and explanation. In the middle of a 26hr print, once done i will be updating to JyersUI. Yes please I'd love to see a video on the manual mesh bed leveling with the new UI.

Awesome video just upgraded both of my ender 3 v2 off of this video. Only thing i saw was if u are doing this later u have to scroll down for the marlin 1.3.4 zip for the screen update the 2.0 version does not have the files. Took me a minute to figure out but works great. Also as a tip for any one adjusting the z offset i put my bed close to all the way down adjusted the offset close and then manually leveled the bed with the knobs to get it close and the abl does the rest. Hope this helps some one else.

Interestingly, the issues you have highlighted in this video 2 years ago are still there in the stock firmware as of today. And I found this video in the Reddit discussion that goes beyond 3 years. Apparently, Creality software team cares soooo much about the user problems : )

Single handily the best thing that has happened to my Ender 3 V2, flashing that god horrible default firmware with JyersUI!!! No more "don't other operation" messages :-) Thanks BV3D you have gotten my subscription.. I have the 4.2.2 board, what is the difference between the 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 boards? DT

Thank you, i just finished upgrading my Ender3 V2 for the first time! I realy like it that you can add folders on the Sd card and that you can see all the files, not just the first 30 or so. I needed a 16 Gb Sd card to upgrade my display as well: 32 Gb or higher didnot work, but now it does. well worth a coffee!

I upgraded to JyersUI not long ago and it was such a great move to make, even for a completely new 3D printer user like myself. I had issues with the Creality firmware and the BLTouch, in that it sometimes never parked the sensor pin which would then crash into the side of the build plate, bending the pin. Nothing like that with JyersUI! Has worked perfectly every time, plus I love how much more information and control you have, and how configurable it is... even down to being able to tweak the loading screen. :-)

I love this firmware update, I've been using it over a month and it's great. Because of you I have changed to pusa for my slicer. Wow what a difference. I prefer this slicer much more over the other I was using. And the color change option is awesome. Thank you again.

Doing my first test print of a large single layer square after the new firmware/screen update and spent a few hours re leveling the bed using the 15x15 mesh. 10% into the print and it already looks LEAPS and BOUNDS better. This video just saved my wanting to use the Ender 3v2. Thank you for making this How-To. I have spent a month trying to figure out this machine. Also its great having the live adjust Z-Offset work properly during a print finally. Now I just need to get a new PEI sheet to fix the 2 gouges from the stock firmware live z adjust miss haps I had earlier in the month.
