When you said you didn't know who to relate to, that's the beauty of this series. The lines between good and bad are so thin and they overlap so often between the two main characters that neither one is entirely in the right, or in the wrong. The fun part is watching them learn as they go along.

@@LowReedExpert1 Exactly! Oftentimes I see people siding onto one character and completely hating off to another (in this fanbase), not realizing that we would've done the same thing as the one we hated. You can see how blinded real people are based on how they look onto this series. Nobody's perfect, all of us make unjustifiable decisions, and it's portrayed perfectly here that (majority of) people can't even see it. Anyways, stay safeee!

1.) Your average dealership keeps double the amount in cars in stock than they'd sell and the dealership filmed in the show can hold around 130 cars (I counted...). 2.) Larusso auto opened in 2002 and expanded to 4 more places giving them a total of 5 dealerships 4.) A Bonsai tree can take around 10-15 years to be grown/ shaped Knowing this information we can say he sells around 65 cars a month at 1 dealership, multiply that by 5 and that's 325 cars sold a month assuming all his dealerships are the same size, so lets say 235 cars a month, that would mean he's giving away 3900 trees a year... and they'd have to grow 235 trees a month to keep them in stock... AAANNDD that'd be assuming he only gives them to customers who have bought a car which doesn't seem to be the case... I did my research after watching season 1 for the third time! As you can tell it bothered me a lot!😂

You probably are aware of this already, but in the U.S it's very common for people to wear shoes inside. In fact, it's very rare that you'll be asked to take your shoes off anywhere. Dojos here still try to maintain the no shoes rule, but don't expect to at all times because it will be the nature of Americans to wear shoes everywhere. The only dojo's i've seen be very strict about this are the traditional japanese dojos and those are rare in the US. Shotokan is the most common traditional form of Karate you'll find in the U.S but you're even more likely to find American-ized styles/schools or non-japanese ones like taekwondo that don't care as much about traditon. Daniel though should know better because his style and training is meant to be more traditional than Cobra Kai. But it could have been a way of showing he doesn't respect the place as true dojo

I think the reason why Jonny is so nonchalant about the shoes on the matt is because of how long it's been since he was in a dojo. @@alexgrey7972 The shoe thing is more about tradition and some people's obsession about it. Same with shoes in the house. Many people do it and get by just fine in life, but some people think the sky will fall if you walk in a house with them on. When you look at it through a scientific standpoint, the blood, sweat, hair, bacteria and foot fungus's from our bodies is more of an issue on a mat. The mats should be cleaned daily regardless. Having some shoes on it doesn't make any difference. Yes it isn't good practice to always be walking on them with shoes as it shorten the life of the mat, but cleanliness not really. The same with trampolines. I know people that wear shoes on theirs and it does just fine. Yes some boots will be harder on it just like a mat but not sneakers.

I think there are little inside jokes (Easter Eggs) that you sometimes miss. When Miguel asked Johnny how he wanted the window washed it was an allusion to Daniel being taught "Wax on, wax off" by Mr. Miyagi, as one example. I also don't know if you got the kid who lied to Daniel by telling him Johnny attacked him. It's surprising how often the writers put the scenes together in such a way that just a few words would have ended the entire feud. For example, if Miguel had said "Johnny was defending me in the mall parking lot." In this last scene, probably would have ended the feud. In the first episode if Daniel had said "This is on me, I want to end our fighting." Even if he didn't believe he was at fault for the events of the movie, he could have taken the higher level and said "I want to do this because I hurt you and I want to mend fences." I think that would have ended the feud. Such a great show.

I think Johnny's way of teaching works great because it takes kids up at where they are mentally. His school is for troubled kids. Not the troublemaker kind - rather the kind that is at a point where they lost selfrespect and any sense of positivy. Oftentimes you don't reach children with that with absolute positivity. Maybe you as a teacher know cases like these. Kids who try to learn but just don't respond to you encouraging them, or believing in them. Every time they don't manage to do something they see it as proof they are absolute good for nothing failures and will never be able to do this. Until they walk out on you. Johnny meets them on eyelevel. he doesn't empower them. He goes "yeah you suck." His students believe him, because he talks to them in the same way they see themselves. So when he tells them "We'll do shit right!" they are motivated. Because if someone who actually "knows" they are worthless thinks they can improve then maybe there's hope. And a compliment from someone who's like that makes them see their own progress. I know it's dangerous because you run the risk of putting them down even further but there are people who benefit from something like that.

Love all your commentary. Can't wait for the others. I put a dojo in my garage and I'm actually considering starting to teach in 2022. I'll email you a picture as I don't seem to be able to add one in the comments here.

I’m late to watching this but I appreciate seeing your reactions from your perspective. Most reaction videos I’ve seen are from American creators and non-marital artists. I can’t wait to see the rest of your videos about Cobra Kai.

As he's finally explaining that Kyler and his friends were beating on Miguel I'm just like, "You could'a led with that, you fucking stooge." Love this show. Who are you supposed to root for, Johnny or Daniel? Yes! Who is the villain, Johnny or Daniel? Yes! Although Amanda Larusso is my favorite character of the entire series, Karate Kid movies included. I just love how she doesn't tolerate Daniel's bullshit. She speaks her mind, she can and does say "I love you but what you are doing is insane" etc. And of course the best line of the entire series is still, "Ooookaaayyyy. So. If we're all done comparing 'CLASS SIZES'"

I think the shoes in the Cobra Kai dojo are intended to represent it's non-conformity to traditional karate (and lack of "high culture"), as well as a representation of the heart/kokoro of the dojo itself (being dirty). That being said, the U.S. is a crossroads of cultures, kungfu gyms typically wear shoes (but usually practice on hard surfaces) and sport wrestling (folkstyle, freestyle, greco-roman) has mats but wear shoes. (It's irritating to go to a seminar at a semi-public venue to find that the hosts rented wrestling mats: so, so dirty!)

I turned my living room into a dojo during lockdown. Got some mats and a standing bag and pull up bar and trained on zoom. I couldn't have any visitors so it's not like I needed the space. I've only just pulled the mats up this week to decorate for Christmas. If we end up in another lockdown they will be going back down again.

Bonsai trees are so Spectacular and the tough of Johnny Lawrence throwing one in the first episode to the floor and also those beautiful trees diminished in the Karate Kid movies and the though of Daniel to give a Bonsai Tree to every costumer when are very Special little Trees and expensive make me think... These people actually show up the culture of Japan on Bonsais and the love for them, despite the damage to those beautiful little trees in their productions, is just magical to see those small trees and raise one is just a dream for every human being.

Thank you dear Yusuke, for sharing the true Japanese traditions when reacting to the show. You will have fun it's a great show. My recommendation- Don't watch trailers, watch it authentic, see how they build the story. If you think this is good, wait for you will see what's next, it only just began.

I find your analysis educational & entertaining. For instance you give us the correct name for the "Ghee". & the glifcs on the wall of Daniel's dojo. I love your observations of our American culture. Ive always respected the Japanese culture & found it interesting. Good job on these reaction videos. 👍
