I do custom work in linen! Tablecloths, napkins, curtains, french blinds, sheets, cases, etc.......also still have my connection with many Russian linen mills from my days of importing linen from there to the US. Early days but not a problem for a table that size!!!! So happy for you both....and the pups! Carry on, rejoicing!

What a nerve wracking trip!! I'd have been equally worried about the dogs! And yes, people were wonderful to you! I had a security guard at a Burger King in Ireland let me use his phone, to call home & say we'd arrived safely because my cell phone carrier charged us for international access that did not work! People can be lovely!

Your new home sounds absolutely intriguing what an adventure awaits you. How wonderful of be able to get all that information about the History of the Chateau. What a treasure! See, all the things you have donated, now the owners have left you some stuff to use and enjoy hopefully. We always reap what we sow. The dog looks quite contented on the rug, animals are just so reassuring in their behaviour. It would be lovely to share your Journey to the Chateau in future videos, cannot wait to see what creative things you are going to do. A grand legacy to leave behind will be your personal experience of buying and restoring the building and outbuildings. One aspect I am so happy to see, you both are so much more relaxed and happy, all the great concern is settled which is good health wise. It is also very pleasing when in the foreign Country and you have super people to advise and instruct which are better options. I am sure you would be back to that outlet in future to support them even more. I hope and trust on the days of removal and arrival the weather will be kind to you all and that the goods can get carried into the Chateau without rain, snow and mud. Just loved the opening of this vlog. Fabulous graphics. Too bad you couldn't take the 4 dogs but great that 2 made it safely. When those 2 reunite with the others it will be a joyful time. What a great update and you look so happy! Your brief comment on the local boulangerie completely validated our entire decision to move to France! We loved your expressions when discussing the "Tuscan effect" in the kitchen. It will be interesting to see what choices you make in the end. Appreciate that you shared this video with us. Soooo glad you got a bigger (longer) bed! Goodness, the both of you and 2 dogs are definitely a bit too tight for a standard bed! (Our pitties love to sleeping on our bed , but at night they need to sleep on their own beds cause it really is impossible to have a good night's rest on a queen size bed! (Wish we had more room for a bigger bed, then they could have slept with us. I believe you haven't lived and experienced peace if you haven't shared your bed with your dog(s)/pets. Glad you got all the other appliances, bedding etc and that you received such great service from the French! The bakery nearby sounds so lovely!!! Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread and real butter!! You mentioned before you have a cheese factory nearby: wine, bread and cheese, what more do you need? 😁 Cant wait to see more video of the Chateau on the inside and outsjde. (If I bought a Chateau I would have been so excited that I would not be able to sleep at night, especially cause you haven't been in all the outbuildings as yet!! Oh, and all those documents you mentioned are soooo exciting! Wow, you bought a large dining table fit for a chateau ! Think you will have to make you own table cloth, don't know where you will find such large table cloths! Hope somebody can sew!!!! On your 'colombes' , owning à dovecote (colombier or later pigeonnier) was a privelege of the gentry in pre-revolutiionary France (doves were raised for their meat and their dejections used as fertiliser , but they did terrible damage to crops), and this was inaccessible to commoners. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Kauf Ihres wundervollen Schlosses !! Hoffentlich werden Ihre Wünsche und Erwartungen für Ihr zukünftiges Leben als „châtelains“ wahr! Ich freue mich auf jeden Fall darauf , dank Ihrer Vlogs,an Ihrem Abenteuer teilhaben zu können. Danke dafür! Beim Erwerb von Haushaltgeräten , Elektro- Werkzeugen etc. ist es immer wichtig vor dem Kauf nach dem „ service après vente „ zu fragen, damit man ein defektes Gerät auch zur Reparatur bringen kann oder ein Fachmann nach Hause kommt ( Waschmaschine etc), und die Geräte innerhalb nützlicher Frist repariert wierden. Rasentraktoren, Rasenmäher etc die einen regelmässigen Service benötigen ( Ölwechsel….) kauft man am besten im Fachhandel und nicht bei einer grossen Ladenkette, da diese eigene Mechaniker haben. In Frankreich ( und auch in der Schweiz, England, Deutschland….) sind die guten Handwerker im Moment über Monate ausgebucht und die Beschaffung von gewissen Bauteilen ist sehr mühsam und mit langen Wartefristen verbunden. Wenn Sie also im Herbst/ Winter einen Handwerker brauchen, dann wäre es nicht schlecht, schon jetzt nach einem zu suchen….

I am so excited to watch your Journey as you restore your Château. Hen you showed the documents in the Library, I was, “ohhh, I want to read them”. I love History which is why I love watching you and other Château owners. In fact, when you were talking about your table and mentioned LaLande, Ash & Jonathan and others it was like you were talking about my “friends”. I am sure ideas will change again, as one Château owner stated, “let it speak to you”. Please keep us updated, even if it’s just a short video.

Just found your channel and love it. As for the tablecloth for your huge table, you don't need one that's 40ish feet long. Just buy two matching ones and place one at each end, then get one or two others (depending on their size) which complement the end ones and place them in the middle. Makes it look like you meant it to look that way. Voila!
