A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

It cracks me up every time the judge asks the defense if they want to cross examine the witness and they say "no thank you " as if they were being offered coffee 😅

Brett testifying that July 1st was his birthday and that also being the day his brother died was heartwrenching

You know Chandler's heart about fell out of his butt when she told him that the cops had already been by and gotten all of the footage and she didn't know what was on it. He was fishing to see what the cops were going to see and was probably panicking knowing that their surveillance system is so extensive and that the cops WON'T see his parents leaving but WILL see him opening all of the windows and having a fire in the fireplace all night. Probably made him shake in his boots. Good.

Instinctively personable prosecutor effectively relaxes Mrs. Schuster who couldn't even breathe normally because of nervousness when she first sat to testify.

I love this judge 👨‍⚖️ he always sounds so positive, kind and shows everyone common courtesy. He treats everyone the SAME while still staying so professional!!

It makes me so frustrated that these parents worked their entire lives to provide for their children - pinched pennies where they could - and their own ungrateful son kills them. They were just starting to enjoy the fruits of their labor, renovating their home, and then, gone. I believe they would've given Chandler the world if he let them.

I feel so bad for the uncle. Imagine your own brother being brutally murdered and mutilated by someone you’ve known since they were born and may have even helped raise. I can’t even begin to imagine the feelings of betrayal, sadness, and anger he must be having.

The “Midwest Nice” is very strong in this trial, from the cute little chipper judge to all of the witnesses.

I just want to say thank you to whoever compiled these video’s in the order in which they appear, along with the identity of the witnesses and how they are related to the case. This is in consecutive order and SO MUCH EASIER to watch a trial from day 1 forward and know that you haven’t missed anything. THANK YOU, Can you do this with ALL of the trials?

Chandler obviously did not love his family. The fact that he took the parents away from the people who did love them who loved them very much is heartbreaking. It seems that anyone who got to know them love them. Cat did not know them that well but you could tell she loved them

The main prosecutor has great people skills, putting clients at ease. This is on top of his excellent oratory skills seen when he presented his case on Day One.

Just think how ironic. The son that put up his mother’s security cameras could not even dreamed while installing those, would seal the deal of a horrific murder case. The same son that installed the security cameras at the possible correctional facility where the murderer would be kept to continue to watch him the rest of his life. Can’t make it up. 👏👏👏👏

These people are showing unknowingly concern and love towards the person who committed such a horrendous act. You know your screwed when your attorney is not cross examining any of the witnesses
