Fascinating. Have always wondered why the Banshee screams foretelling of death in only certain lines going back to old Irish families (5 of them I think). Based on what you said here, I'm wondering if that's because each of those families' ancestors had a Leannan Sidhe lover...or if the Banshee could be all traced back to a single Leannan Sidhe because those old families are all off-spring from the her lover...Any insight to this? My father was born in the US, his mother was Irish and the night she died he was the only one to hear the Banshee. They were of the McLoughlin line.

What Yeats described, in my limited understanding, though not properly a Leannan Sidhe according to Irish accounts and the accurate definition you are working with sounds more like the less consensual accounts of what some of the male kings have been known to do. However in the case of the Yeats type energetic vampiric story- less so on the physical plane... any thoughts on this?

More specifically I’m thinking of the story of Eithne kidnapped by Finvarra...maybe conflating but the quality of a persons spirit not being all there struck me as a possible connection.
