Looking forward to the North American Fairies book.

I saw a female fae in June 2023..she was dressed as of the 1980's white blouse light blue trousers about 18yo 4'10" short black hair glasses..she didn't speak she just gave me a LOOK to get off the path i had just stood on..this was in a forest beside a lake in County Cavan Ireland

As a costuming / historical fashion nerd, I love this. The misinterpretation of high-end or even just normal clothing from the past = conical everyday fairy fashion is hilarious to me. I also would love to see a modern day fairy story with the fae in either fancier modern brands or typical fashion from 20-30 years ago, as I think it’s a missed opportunity for the fantasy literature community.

It makes sense that fairies would wear contemporary clothings, even if you are three hundreds years old or so you probably wouldn't just wear the exact same fashion and never change, it's not like most millennials are still wearing clothes from the eighties and nineties. However, I would have expected that they would also have their own fashion, especially those that live in Faerie. Are there references in folklore for faeries having a separate fashion from humans, particularly in Faerie?

Have you heard that some kind of show or movie is in the works based on Brian froud's books produced by Jim Henson company.

I can understand why an extremely hairy being would prefer not to wear clothes. Clothes would likely pull on the hair and be uncomfy. Likely other reasons too.
