Could leather Branding be done on a pair of boots?

I lately got into the interest of branding leather just for fun. May I know what kind of leather is the best for branding and affordable? Some leather pieces I bought they shrink right away because of the heat and looking very ugly sorts of like melting to me. Thanks.

Using a press creates heat from the mass of pressure... also casing the leather will allow the stamp to leave the beauty of a dark impression without heat... practice... and you shouldn’t need additional heat.
