Sound is freaking beautiful, gave me goose bumps when the car did a fly by.

Man it was really cold and humid outside, the oil temp kept rising and dropping with the revs. Lexus quality, the cooling system is so good, even at 9000rpm on a v10 hypercar it cools the engine passively.

Feel sorry for the clutch, the clutch engage during launch is kind of mess. The clutch seems going in and out.

I just love the short time between 00:07 and 00:10. Most cars have mechanical rev counters, in the LFA its digital so it responds quicker. This lets us see the launch controls work, the fight for grip... And you know its not some effect because what you hear and what you see conforms...

So lets say the speedometer says 100km/h, then the car is traveling at 100 kilometers in one hour. which is 100 000 meters in one hour.

I love that everyone just insults the car before doing a bit of research on it. The reason the transmission shifts slow is because its a single clutch, in order to give the car a better feeling for the driver, it makes a much more enjoyable car to drive, you just have to get used to it. And it may have slower acceleration but who cares? That's all corvettes are good for, they can't handle corners like the LFA can. The LFA tops any Corvette, Nissan, and various other maker's cars around tracks.

Looking at the water temp rise and drop is amazing.

@Dani01c I do agree that the standards of quality on the new BMW's are lower than they used to be, but i own a 1998 740Li BMW, I am the only owner the car has had, it has 330.000+ km on it and the leather looks awesome, the wood inside is still shiny, the engine works perfectly and so does all the electronic and it didn't need any fixing at all in the 13 years I've owned it. They are made to break so you spend more money, thus maximizing their profits. Don't confuse consumerism with low quality.

it's not only about performance. It looks fabulous, sounds amazing and the interior is very, very well-made. Plus, only 500 of them were made. To be honest, of course it's a lot of money, but i think it's worth it.

This is one of the greatest cars of all time. Top gear was 100% wrong about it in their original review. It belongs in the same rank as the 2005 Ford GT and Porsche Carrera GT

@rvind92g 1LR-GUE in LF-A using cross-plane crank design, standard port-type fuel injection (seen on old Honda's), intake design is more for max torque at low rpm to high and high rev power, and most fantastic thing, it's light as V6 and smaller than some V8's. Audi V10 in R8 and Gallardo is heavier, little bigger and produce same power with direct injection, flat-plane crank. Toyota engineers said that with DI and modified intake can extract more than 600hp at 9000rpm.

@karsseboomh22 1LR-GUE is V10 engine in LF-A, it's compact size as V8, light as V6, and powerful as V10. V10 in LF-A weights less than Chevy LS7.

The LF-A's performs better when revved very high. Bear in mind that its maximum power is achieved at a rather high 8,700rpm with the redline at 9,000rpm. However, its electronic fuel cut out is at 9,500rpm! That means you can change gears anywhere up to and including 9,500rpm, and the engine will still respond. If you watch carefully you will notice that the driver was actually changing up at just below 9,300rpm, which is still within the engine's safe performance envelope. Addictive sound!

Yes it is safe to shift in the red zone specifically for this car, the Lexus LFA, because the V10 was purpose built to be high-revving and responsive and can reach 9k revs in half a second (hence why they had to put in a digital tachometer, as analog needles couldn't keep up with the engine). Basically, redline revs is a normal occurrence for the LFA and causes no problems.

Lexus LFA - PlayStation on the wheels. I love that car. No Ferrari, no Lamborghini, no Porsche. Only LFA
