Please how did you repair that side plate with the broken bolt. Also where did the light unit and mounting bracket come from please, as they look a big improvement on the rusty old originals.

I drilled a hole where the broken bolt was, welded in a new bolt and ground it down with an angle grinder. Worked quite well.

@@neildonaldsonlotusexcelresto Brilliant, now that was a video all on its own, drilling out the bolt must have been a bit fun, unless you have a pillar drill. congrats

@@TheJensenInterceptor Thanks Neil. I do not have a pillar drill but I have developed a technique to drill holes quite precisely. Basically I drill into a scrap piece of metal and clamp that to the piece I want to drill. That gives good precision and stops the drill bit from slipping.

@@neildonaldsonlotusexcelresto Excellent Idea, like that, I am drill slipping expert, so thats why I I brought a pillar drill. I wonder I could start videos on my Elite 1975 as all i done so far is clean it and put on tailgate struts as these were seized, Elite has been stationary since 1990 when the owner died. luckily it was stored inside.
