These Shows are relaxing. I like the jazz and the 70s feel.

This was my favorite Lou Grant episode back when it was on TV. Been looking for either DVD releases or online. Thank you for posting this and all of the others!!

So they figured out the "new man" was Billie Newman & they still let her go to the house, alone! Another bit part actor playing a jucy part - Pat Finlay who plays the 'murdered' wife at the start also played Mrs P's speech therapist, an anti porn campaigner & probably other parts which I can't recall right just now. Bit parts can be crucial to the storyline so they Do Matter!

Playing with a Ouiji board is very very dangerous spiritually. It opens up a bad and evil influence.

Season 5 has hit a snag for me with several episodes that remind me more of Scooby Doo than Lou Grant. Ghosts, hunting for lost treasure, etc. Jazz was also one of those hacky things where Rossi suddenly has an obsession with jazz that never surfaced before. Getting pessimistic about the remaining episodes, hope I'm wrong.

actually Rossi had a love for Jazz in that Hollywood episode right? Or was that Animal?

I don't recall that but it's a great excuse to rewatch the episode.

They were pissed that Asner was getting so political so they started writing non-political shows and as a result they started to suck - Instead of admitting they made a mistake, they cancelled the show and blamed Asner - Paley was always an asshole..

Poor Patti Findlay. She didn’t last long in this episode.
@cathykinn4516 Жыл бұрын
She was in others - Mrs P's therapist, a censoring parent. They had a 'stock company' of bit part actors, quality ones they could rely on to produce the goods even for a few lines.

are any of these episodes based, however loosely, on real cases? i noticed how they referenced that case with the "twinkie defense"...

Never seen this episode but it is shure a good one 35;31 ,,,,, ALL BEEN INVOLVED IN PSYCHIC RESEARCH. with the US government that goes back down to Lincoln since his wife had been all her life a believer in those matters, the show SLIDERS even picked this up in one of it´´s episodes. But the serious push came just past World War II. when the USA did serious studies in this field done by various authorities and groups from the Military to the Universities. The reason for it had been Stalin, like Hitler he had been a firm believer in the Occult. So the Russians had tried to built up a psychic corps for World War III. Sounds like X-Men I know but the Russians really had worked on that so did the US government and the British also not to let out a possibility
