Dry Cleaning is nothing like washing clothes, the use of water in washing, is what changes the clothing from its new feel, there is no water used in dry cleaning, so it is a far more fabric friendly process 😁

If you are losing such a significant amount of quality of your clothing after one wash then your clothes are crap. I have 6 tracksuits from 3 years ago that I have washed literally every week and they look and feel brand new.

Everything puts some wear on clothes. Even using the coat normally will affect it. The plaintiff was expecting way too much considering the coat was used for 3 years.

Well, the burden of proof is on the plaintiff. If the plaintiff fails to prove their claim, the defendant doesn't need to say anything.

And they can hear it too. I've seen some people crack up, especially whenever they use the "blank her, he hardly knew her" line. There's a case out there where somebody gets into a car accident where their car is hit from behind, and they say that the defendant is "accused of slamming a guy in the rear". Everybody in the courtroom starts peeing their pants. It's pretty funny.

Excellent point. From what I saw on the internet, alpaca should be cleaned with an eco-friendly solution, not the typical trichlorethylene. It can be washed at home, but it needs to be a certain procedure in order to preserve the clothing to as close to original as possible. After the wash, it's going to change texture, and maybe even color. But they also say you can use a conditioner on the fabric. Maybe that's all she really needs to do. If the dry cleaning dried out the alpaca fabric, maybe she can use a conditioner to soften it up. I mean, it is hair, just like human hair, so I imagine it will get softer with conditioning.

But because money is involved shouldn't they have known that? Shouldn't they have been the ones to research the type of cleanser? Afterall, she trusted the professionals who are in the business for looking up various solutions to use on various textures in a dry clean service? A specialty dry clean service at that?

@@Lanie-sl9ne That's a great point. And I would agree with you that the dry cleaner would have some kind of liability, but he sent it out to a specialty service. That specialty service should have been the ones to tell him they can't do it, or they should have told him to send it somewhere else. So he may have a case against them. But when it comes to the dry cleaner and the customer, he is still responsible to her. Does that mean he has to do his research, if he is going to get out to a specialty cleaner? That's tough. That's why he sent it out to a specialty cleaner, because he didn't know how to do it. At the end of the day, the customer sues the dry cleaner, and if she wins, the dry cleaner can sue the specialty cleaner. In my opinion, if the dry cleaner sends the coat out, he doesn't have to know anything about the material. Whoever agrees to accept the coat and clean it must know enough to not mess it up. If the specialty cleaner screws it up, the dry cleaner sues them, The dry cleaner reimburses the customer, and the customer doesn't file a lawsuit.

I usually use a gentle washer cycle or soak in bathtub and use a delicate soap like Woolite or some other mild liquid soap.

She went thru all of that trouble because she needed the $700..that's y she mentioned she only wore it a few times..so as to get alot of money for it* if it was abt sentimental value she wouldn't emphasize thst thr coat was barely used

She expected to get money from the court for it. And having a new coat for free and keep the old one too. Why? Because of entitlement, unfortunately it's very common these days.

Why? It's not leather, it's hair. Leather is skin, whereas alpaca is hair, so the two different substances need different treatments. What she should have done was go on the internet and researched how to do it, and then chosen the appropriate dry cleaner. This guy did what he needed to do, and that's what many professional dry cleaners would do, regardless of what they charge. I don't know where you get off calling this guy cheap, we didn't even hear how much he charged her. Maybe he's one of the best in the city. You don't know.
