what an incredible 3 part video. You must have been a teacher? Your explanation of the Lowery stand was impeccable. I have never seen such an in-depth video on a product before. I just cannot believe this was your first video. Your husband (or male friend) was funny too. I hope to see more videos from you. You are an excellent teacher!!!!

I bought the Lowery frame and adaptor, as well. They arrived from a store in England this past week, so I set the whole thing up in ten minutes and began stitching right away. Thanks for your well-done informative videos.

Thank you for this video, it really made me reflect on how awful my posture is while stitching. I tend to twist up like a pretzel when I stitch, and I'm sure it contributes to my migraines. I'm going to seriously consider getting a lowery stand to help with this.

Thank you for all three videos regarding the Lowery stand. After tons of research I've just purchased it and your videos were instrumental in helping me with my decision. It was especially nice to see you demonstrate it while sitting in a recliner, as that's my preferred chair to stitch in (and no other floor frame works well with a recliner).

Violet Stitches isn’t that the truth! I’ve spent a LOT of $$$$ finding this one solution! It was crucial for me to find a floor stand to fit in a small footprint for a recliner situation! Especially during this filming as I was going through CHEMO for breast cancer, it was about all the energy I could muster. Lololol. Almost a 3-yr Survivor! Whoop! Whoop!

You and your cameraman did a great job at demonstrating your techniques & tools. Very pleased and you sold me on the idea of using a frame adapter IF I didn't have to flip around my frame so often...(I don't use the pin stitch, but maybe someday. I have tried it, just didn't keep it. I bet your work is wonderful. Keep the vids coming, I'd love to see them.

Great videos! I have a Lowery stand but didn't know about the scroll frame adapter, I will have to keep an eye out for that (looks like it's out of stock on Sew and So's site). Thank you for posting these videos. I just got a K's Creation floor stand that came with a part that I could not figure out what it was. Luckily some ladies on a cross stitch Facebook group told me what it was. Which then lead me to these 3 videos. Not only did I learn about the adapter, but the gauze thing is a fantastic idea and I love how you keep your beads on the bar of the scroll. I have a project that has been set aside because I need to do the beading and have not felt like being stuck at a table working on the beads. What size tablet is that? I am looking into getting a tablet for using pattern keeper and that looks to be an ideal size.

Great videos, Interesting you use pin stitch to start I use to finish sometimes but find they pop out maybe I dont pull tight enough, also I keep baby wipes close to wipe my hands when needed 😊

I use a Mini iPad. Fits Nicely in the gutter of the rods, that doubles as I desk. Also, I have a “mic stand that I attached to the foundation pole of the Lowery stand as my latest “new greatest thing.” Lolol

Excellent video. Thank you. One question, how do you get to stitch the very top of a project? You cannot roll the material down to lower the stitching area as you are at the top of the material anyway and no more to scroll down? Thank you

I would like to see how you stitch at the very top. I find the frame ends up on the arm rest so I cannot lower it further, so I am stretching up to read the top of the work. I ended up having to fix the quantum upside down, so I was stitching then at the bottom, just had o remember to do my stitches in the opposite direction, which I kept forgetting.

I just was wondering how much did it cost you for shipping.? Also there is a gal (Left Handed Stitcher) that shows how to make scroll bars cover to protect your work. They work great.

Thank you for this video! I've been researching floor stands as I have recently purchased Millennium frames which are similar to the Omanik you are using. I have a Lowery with the longer L bar and a corner clamp but I do not have the wooden extender bar. Do you find the extender bar reduced the bounce of the Lowery? I have also had trouble with my frame tilting or drooping down with longer frames. Yours seem level. Any advice on this? Do you use a weight on the base plate? I would love to be able to get my Lowery to work for me so I could just add the extender bar without giving up on it. I have heard of some stitchers using two Lowery stands for longer heavier frames. Any assist you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for doing this video. I have found them very helpful. I was wondering what is the largest quantum frame you have used with the adapter? And did you have to prop up the end to keep it from drooping. That seems to be my issue. I am using the 90 cm frame

This has been so extremely helpful! I've now bought a lowery stand and hope to try with the set up you have shown here. Please would you do some more videos on how you do the pin stitch start and finish method since it would be hard to keep flipping the work over to the back side with this set up! Also your work is beautiful and I'd love to see more of it! Thank you for uploading this, it's really set me in a much more comfortable stitching path! All I need now is a super swivel comfy chair like yours!! Ha ha xx jo x

@bill bisbing Dear Pam. Watching this video in 2021. Such a great help. After viewing I got it clear what I need and not in terms of accesories. Would you be so kind to tell me if you have had any video to see how to stitch in between the frame and the magnifying lights. I have a magnifier light but I do not feel at ease stitching with it because all the times I sort out my needle gets into the magnyfier lamp or even worst the lens.

I’ll be honest, it just takes getting use to. As you see here, I am a 2-handed stitcher. After this video, I purchased CraftOptic lenses and have not looked back. They cost the same as a high-quality pair of prescription glasses, but TOTALLY INVALUABLE. I can now stitch anywhere as I can take them with me, either plug in or use the battery pack that comes with the Dream Light that attaches right to the glasses. Please I would love to learn the pin stitch. I have purchase a larger frame and I also have a lowery, but need to learn how to finish my threads. I'm unable to flip my work because the size of my frame and my recliner.

I've just dealt with this problem myself. In the end I decided I absolutely must have access to the back of my work and so had to make a few adjustments to my set-up. The biggest adjustment is that I had to move down to a 6" side bar/stretcher bar on my scroll frame. I don't like this as I can't see as much of my work while I'm stitching, but again, you'll be able to flip your work over on this smaller frame. If you have the Lowery Stand Long Frame Adaptor (the wood piece she shows in the video), you'll have to trim about 5 inches off the top of it...I used a mitre saw to get it done, but you can take it to any Home Depot or hardware store and they'll trim it for you. This will allow you to flip your work without the frame adaptor getting caught on the chair or your legs. :)

Tara Ward -No, I haven't demo' the pinhead stitch yet. If you have an iPad, check out thePDF-Notes app. There is a free version and a paid version. I loved the free version so much, that I bought it. There is a tutorial that goes with it. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have or things you are looking for in particular.

Trina Portner Hi Trina! The app is PDF-Notes is for the iPad but there are other apps for Android. For this I either receive my patterns in PDF format and open or move into the app, relate a “book “ for easy recognition. If I have a paper cart, I scan the chart, email to myself and open into the app. Hope this helps.

Theresa Atkinson hi there! The app is called PDF-Notes and it is used with the iPad! It has a tutorial. There is both a free version and a paid version. I went ahead and paid after a time as I use it exclusively for my XS every day. You can enlarge your area you’re stitching and highlight with different colors or makes notes, erase an area if you have to FROG etc. check it out! I love it!

Was hoping you also showed how to flip to the back of the work, and how you lock your stitches. Otherwise, outstanding.

I use the pinhead stitch to lock my stitches which basically allows me to start and end stitches from the top of my work. However to flip your work you would simply lift from the bottom of the scroll rod after loosening the arm and flip your work to the back. Hope that helps.

I apologize, this must have slipped by. I use a 3-inch border on all my fabrics. At the top and bottom , I either add in another 1-2 inches or you can sew some scrape material to the top and bottom if you didn’t allow enough to wrap around the scroll rods. Hope this helps.

@@bisbingb Thank you. Yes that helps. I had the normal 3 inch border but couldnt reach the top. So have now got some more material with enough extra added on that I can have the top of the work half way down :) so can reach it now. Thanks
