@@whilemyguitarblowsup4174 you are thinking too small, he already stated that the guy by the kitchen was paying attention to make sure it didn’t escalate, tipically meaning that it has escalated before. But let’s assume it didn’t and it was just that, which I fully believe LS is making it sound way better for him, it is known that he would insult other managers, coworkers, loose his temper and walk out, like Sven stated that he had certain quirks that clearly are very negative to a workforce. And let’s say that many colleagues being that up to jack how they feel uncomfortable to work under the guy cause they feel like he might snap on them over small things cause he literally did snap over arguably very minor instances. Here jack has two options, fire the guy or stick with him. Let’s assume he stayed, now the people who complained have a giant target in their back cause they let it be known they feel uncomfortable with the guy, and we assume there is no change in LS attitude, you can argue that the work place has become unsafe for you as an employee due to your many formal complaints and consistent harassment which LS said is all documented. Like as someone who has been in corporate for a minute, there is a perfect work place lawsuit here for unsafe working conditions, hell even in California where C9 is located in you could argue for emotional distress with everything I just stated

@@tianolamas7832 my brother in Christ you cannot file a lawsuit on baseless assumptions and hearsay. Count the number of times you said “let’s say” or “let’s assume”. LS has never been convicted of anything violent and has no legal history of anything of the sort. None of that is based in anything that has actually happened. You seem to have some serious personal issues with the dude, but by all means, if you’d like to file a lawsuit for emotional distress in California, you could do so right now online. it’s incredibly expensive, which shouldn’t be so problem if you win the lawsuit because you can argue the cost of the suit is included in punitive costs. But if the judge rules it a frivolous case, costs are on you :) otherwise ur just all bark, no bite, cute imagination though

Hey. A basic rule is science is that, correlation does not equal causation. Authoritarian type of teaching, has significantly different results depending on culture and ethnicity of an individual. And, no surprise, one person will react differently than another. Basically, to shorten and dumb it down. Certin methods of coaching work on certin type of people. Its extreamly extremely rare for a coach to be this visibly influential I can only think of LS and Repeared (not so much more nowadays) most coaches its very hard to actually tell if they are doing a lot or doing nothing or being a detriment to the team 99% of the time you just don't know exactly what they're brining to the team, that doesn't mean they are bad but its just the reality of coaching in Esports atm.

I can't see Reapered or Max doing anything closely similar that made viewing LCS refreshing with new picks or interesting at all. problem is, this is not traditional sports, most esports developt of the "how the fuck can coaches know th game better than me if he isnt even top100" mentality. because its still very jung compared to football for example and acutall high lvl esports as we see it grow for the past couple of years is even junger... so actuall ingame coaches that know the gameinside out are rare and only start developing over the times (OW has a few that are awesome at startegy and teamcomps but suck themself at FPS but its easyer to make that disconnect in that game compared to CS or MOBAs). So they started as "generall manager", "stat research" and "teambuilder", someone that makes shure that the team gets along and does proper scrims/orgenises scrims. that is still the thing they do the mostly and the actuall positons like GM and stuff are even newer. It will take time until there is a proper "player coach relationship" at least in terms of micromanaging ingame playstyles and things like "items", "wardplacements" etc etc.. atm coaches do a more broad aproch because "top100 player knows items better than this random dude" (to say it in a simple way) even "old" players have the stigma of "game has changed so what do you know" you can say "but but LoL is out so long now" - Doublelift didnt retire so lang ago, we are in the second maybe third itterartion of playergeneration (no i dont count the players that come and go) and that is true for most of the games out. (well if you count CS from 1.6 you are probably in like the 5th, even quake is not that far into it - but they just dont have knew players comming out that mutch) i know that the way i wrote it is on the more extreme side, but it explains the underlying problem

Take this case as an example. Objectively it was true he is behind in mythic. Coach pointed out what the problem is after multiple reviews and told you. Which makes sense. I got good grades in college but I never researched my class topics on my own time out of interest. Only after I began a masters was I actually forced to budget my time. That actually improved my overall interest. That type of drive is often only cultivated out of circumstance. Sure, some genes and a good home help. Although I agree that coaches being hard on players is a good thing, there’s a level of respect and professionalism that a coach or player needs to show to one another to form a cohesive team. I can’t help but think there are many other ways that the situation could have been dealt with that conveys the same intentions. A coach is someone you respect and look up to and if that connection is severed, it won’t be long till the player decides to go against the rules.

is it professional though, to be hired to improve the team and its chances to win and then just sit there like a couchpotato and spectate a game and then be offended when you are called out for your inactivity? i think its more professional for a coach to call something like that out, because in the end its just wasting resources for basically nothing. you can do that in a semi-pro team or something but this is supposed to be the teams highest up the ladder, they are getting paid to play their best and improve. Lots of people seem to feel like smacking the table was no big deal. I actually do think it makes a difference than if LS just lashed out verbally. Think of the famous “harsh words” clip in LPL. They didn’t get physical. And to be honest (as a Chinese speaker) the tone of voice was nowhere near how heated LS can get on stream. It was actually quite calm, comparable to how Dardoch talks to Steve in that one documentary clip. I’ve known working-age people to literally get up and throw hands when triggered by something like what LS described (when not at work). The fact that he’s such an emotional person and can’t contain that in a workplace setting tells me all I need to know about why C9 let him go. You do something like that once and it makes people very uncomfortable. They’ll remember it. You do anything like that more than once and word gets to Jack, you will probably be let go. It might not seem like a big deal because LS is telling us the story and we know the whole timeline. But imagine you are at work and someone does that out of the blue, if you’re not expecting it you will feel very uncomfortable.

Most people (as far as I can tell) don't really seem to care about how LS acted, except for C9 who have no affiliation with Regi. C9 having a problem with the way one of their coaches act is much different than a founder, owner, and CEO of a company bullying people because there's pretty much no one above him that has a say in the matter. No one is saying that what Regi did was acceptable and how LS acted isn't so I don't understand your point here. Riot themselves did an investigation into Regi (even if it was pretty late considering how long he had been acting the way he does) but they did not do this for LS because it's not comparable.

Esports may be different, but I have been coached at a high level and this is tame compared to some coaches. There are coaches who throw you into the water to see if you can swim e.g. "earn your spot or don't play" which highlight players who perform under pressure, coaches who peacefully, philosophically bring a team together e.g phil jackson who bring out the best in genuine people who trust/buy into the system, and coaches that just treat you like a dog e.g most american football coaches or the coach from last chance u basketball who bring out the best in players who want to fight to win more than they care about themselves. All of these coaching strategies are conducive to winning a lot in a competitive environment, given that the pool of players is high enough. I agree that the first and the third are toxic and should be phased out of competitive environments for the sake of the people putting in the work, but saying coaches like this don't exist in elite competitive environments is just not true. They exist, they are effective, they are toxic, and they should not have a place in a healthy environment that is player-focused. All of these statements can co-exist. Some teams just care about the second one unfortunately. This experience though comes from a background of elite math/computer science competition and world class engineering training at a very selective organization so take it with a grain of salt. I'm just a huge fan of sports who has noticed the same coaching patterns.
