Prince Mustafa and Sultan Suleiman come face to face!
Prince Mustafa appears before Sultan Suleiman. He speaks to him harshly to be protect Mahidevran. Sultan Suleiman responds him in an unexpected way. Prince Mustafa can't decide how to react to his father's attitude.
Mustafa and Nora comes together even if it's late. Nora starts to use common methods.
Sultan Suleiman gets disturbed of the incidents happening over and over. He makes a new decision to be able to keep the order in harem. He appoints Daye to her former duty. The Sultana can't stand that Sultan Suleiman has crushed her decision. Mother and son comes face to face.
Bali Bey gets suspected on what Matrakçı told him about Ibrahim Pasha and tells Ibrahim about that. Ibrahim warns Matrakci for him him to be careful about Nigar. However, the rumors has already begun on the streets of the capital.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Mahidevran lies again and pits her son against his father. Good grief. OTOH Mustafa confronting Sulieman over favoritism of Hurrem was rich, considering how favored and spoiled rotten Mustafa was his entire life by every person inside and outside the palace.

Honestly Mahidevran doomed Mustafa by using him as her shield and emotional support. By the time he was in his own palace and she was trying to gove him good advice he was already set in his ways and his relationship to fragile to hold him up. Hurrem on the other hand did everything in her power to make sure her children had strong relationships with there father.

I understand Mustafa wanting to defend his mother, who wouldn't if their own father is making her suffer? But this move probably planted the seeds of his eventual assassination and Hurrem beginning to see Mustafa as a MAJOR threat to her and her children. Mustafa was old enough to be wise to hold his tongue and read the room (Hurrem was nearly assassinated, OF COURSE she'd be crying).

I agree. One thing everyone should understand is that, Suleyman is a father and a ruler too. Also, they have a culture of having multiple wives. There will always be a favorite.

How can anyone like Mahidevran after this??? She caused her son to overstep and disrespect his father over a lie. Hurrem did not corner her, she went to Hurrem's room. Hurrem didnt thregen her, she wanted to taunt Hurrem to make herself feel better and when Hurrem didn't back down she resorted to violence. The Sultan caught her and made her apologize, she's lucky that's all he did. After all Hurrem is the one sitting there with a burned face. Mustafa was way out of line and will continue cross the line with Hurrem. As a Prince and heir to the throne there's rules to follow and Mustafa never followed the rules. I could never see Hurrem's sons being disrespectful to Mahidevran, they were raised right and knew to respect their elders.

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with Mustafa. I get her wants to protect his mother but he’s shown where his loyalties lie. He has shown his father the Sultan multiple times that he’s loyal to his mother. He’s also shown he has no problem disrespecting the Sultans wife.

Mustafa's not too smart ... wasn't brought up to be a good leader and hence a sultan. Mahidrevan was also not smart to use Mustafa to go against Suleyman and Hureem. Suleyman hadn't chosen his hier yet ....

The difference between Hurrem's kids and Mustafa is, they don't argue with their Father and Mother. They obey the Padisah and they think of their own.

Hürrem, by comparison, holds an absolute expectation of this and makes it clear to her children, but it isn't always the case. There are some early hints to Bayezid's later rebellion while he's still young and Mihrimah learns how to issue challenges towards Suleiman, although it's much safer for her to do so and emulates her mother's gentler tactics more often than not.

@@Redluna32 Yep anytime one her kids tryed to challenge Suleiman her told them off vs Mahidevran who stood back and smiled. By the time Mustafa was grown and she actually tried to give him good advice he was to set in his ways and constantly made the worst choices possible.

@@CrimsonAngelWinges What would always frustrate me is that, more often than not, Mustafa would charge off to do these things, triggered by Mahidevran, and she would weep about how either he and or herself couldn't bear to face such punishment. Like, these are...the consequences of your actions? By comparison, Hürrem's children might have had their moments of rebellion, but she made it clear it wasn't expected of them and that she actively disapproved.

@@Redluna32 Hurrem actively worked to keep all of her children out of harem politics. In season 3 B when Mihrimah starts getting involved in all of the harem drama she has to force her way past her mother to do it. Yet Mahidevran tossed Mustafa in head first because she had already ready been using him as her emotional support and human shield from around the time he was five. She always cried in front of him making him solely responsible for her happiness vs Hurrem who actively avoids crying in front of her children.

He said wrong, he should never talk to his father about his fathers wife when defending his mother who's wrong. He didn't know the whole story and stormed a Sultanas quarters and demanded respect for his liar mother. This drew a further wedge between father and son. Suleiman caughet Mahidevran with her hand raised to smack him wifes already burnt face. An apology was not enough and to be honest Hurrem didn't seem to want her apology!!!

He never said that to Mehmed, in a similar scenario when he had a sword to Mehmed's throat he told him 'I had a vision of you (as a baby) sleeping on my throne, may God give you a long life' he all but told him right there he was his heir.

@@sunnybananny5737 I’m not saying hurrem is bad, trust me she’s my favourite but just saying that every character in this series is portrayed as a selfish human. Who claims one thing but is devoted only to their own self interests. Hurrem is no exception.

To be fair, her whole family was taken away from her. Besides Ayşe Hafsa's death was an accident, Ibrahim and Süleyman's sisters were hoisted by their own petards and her own kids were in danger if Mustafa took power. That's not to claim that Hürrem is faultless by any means, but the 'she is the root of all evil narrative' isn't accurate.
