Ribbiks treating Ultra-Violence like they're a kung-fu master who lives on a mountaintop is very funny and also very foreboding, good luck Pumpkin Man!

Decino: Swam with whales, went to space on stardate 20X6/7, gained Italian citizenship in Italo doom, and lusted over the sun Ribbiks: prove to me you can play it on ultra violence

I can't get over how visually pleasing this map looks, these are the kind of maps I would constantly re-watch just because its that good.

It's amazing that DooM is still good after all these years. No modern FPS holds a candle to it, all of these beautiful and unique fan projects are superior.

They're very probably different songs compositionally, but the theme to this level sounds extremely similar to the "Kingdom of Zeal" overworld theme from Chrono Trigger (probably because Ribbiks grew up with that game, since he's already used full CT midis in at least two other maps from previous megawads). Thanks for starting a playthrough of this, Decino!

unpopular opinion While ribbiks' skill as a mapmaker is unquestionable, doing this whole "Mwhaha prove yourself before you can play UV" REEKS of prima donna attitude.

This set is both beautiful and brutalizing. There’s a fight in Map 03 that I feel is one of Ribbiks’s worst, in several senses of the word. I don’t know if he’s still doing the UV copies, but I guess we’ll know here soon.

It always amazes me how you memorize such complex maps like this. I realize lots of practice runs are why, but still it’s a lot of stuff to remember to do! Well done!

I knew it! Had a feeling it was on the horizon. Was playing it this afternoon, strangely enough. Map 01 is good fun, things get even more interesting after that. Soon you shall weep for there will be no more Rubbiks to conquer.

I hope that Ribbiks will see this video and immediately send you the UV map pack. I am certain he is aware that decino is worthy of UV 😁.

Ribbiks should make a Hedon-style total conversion boomer shooter in GZDoom, where you play a barbarian warrior who runs around epic fantasy landscapes and raids creepy evil citadels while punching things to death. That's probably the one thing that can make decino moan more than ten Archviles getting crushed to death at the same time.

Not gonna lie. These are the kinds of maps i enjoy decino the most. Although entertaining to watch a continuous demon slaying, i can do other stuff without watching and i won't miss much. BUT with maps like these i can't stop watching. My eyes are glued at the screen, pausing or rewinding the video if i miss a few seconds. And this is where decino's commentary shines through.

I'm so confused as to what happened to the wall of Barons and the turret/pillar standing Barons, you never went back to kill them after the squeeze at 29:08, nor did they add to the kill counter at any point after that Edit: Just watched Map 02. Never mind!

It will be interesting to see a playthrough of this on HMP and UV, especially since it's only 3 maps. If Ribbiks is making UV something that players have to prove they are ready for, especially Decino who's conquered Quantum Strike and God Machine, I hope UV for these maps is especially brutal

Absolutely brilliant level beautifully designed loved the visuals I was taken back at first when I saw how many secrets there was but also kinda surprised at the amount of demon's like at first glance I would have thought at least 500 demon's for a level this size but looking at the combat the way it was done which I actually really liked it made sense the amount of demon's very clever definitely gunner be looking forward to seeing more of this. Oh, that nickname... Sounds like a sign of quality. Jeez, I love that "stealth section" with ledge-crawling. It makes best description for term "Duality". When you watch it, it looks almost hilarious. But actual process of passing above them feels tense. Just like that room with bombs and tripwires from HL. One miscalculated move - and if your skills as modest, as mine, than that's it. (In general Darian's voice) You're toast. Maaan, there are so many mooha-boys. Although I love how yo make them infight. I hadn't seen a fight like that since I first saw gachimuchi memes. My eyes are in love with all that colours and lighting. And these map tricks to simulate reflecting floor... I"d like a yellow screen video of how it is possible. :-)

Hell yes!!! This is one of my favorite wads.

Love the atmosphere on this map. Love the art. Love the music. The fights are a bit too challenging for me, but that's solveable with enough tries. What prevents me from progressing is the lowering of the left pillar with a potion that blocks a switch at the room at 30:30. I tried and looked everywhere but was unable to find even a hint. Therefore i left and started to play sokoban instead.

At the very beginning when I saw 270 monsters and 40 minutes long video I was like "What the hell will happen here?! It's gonna be massacre" But this time it's just beutiful designed map with puzzles and many secrets - imagin finding them playing blind :D And some hardcore fights too :) Great map and Mr. Ribbiks is an artist

MyHouse got me into Doom but this map is what got me into *Doom* as a skill game. This and Saturnine tower were my first exposures to fights being the core of the level rather than the Story. Next stop, Sunlust.

It is one of the projects that is characterized a lot by its scenarios although in challenges it is unlikely that it will cause you frustration!!! Grettings 😁😎

Very nice map , nicely done. It's a real maze when you play it for the first time. You really did wel decino and found the great tactics on the pacifist fights. Really curious about the upcoming maps.

Map makers should do more of these collectible hunts, with shootable switches, unnoticeable ridges like hidden paths and puzzles. I like treasure hunts in games, is it even possible to use the Wolfenstein parts/decorations in Doom?

Excited to see your playthrough of MAP03. It is indeed a beast, during my blind, casual playthrough of Magnolia it took me a few hours to get through due to having to keep retrying fights and just struggling to find my way around. Would definitely be interesting to know if there's a repository of the exclusive UV maps, but I guess people might be reticent to share them publicly. Oku's Revenge II and Stomm were pretty easy to find just with a quick google search, but hopefully the others eventually see the light of day.

Cool side project. At first I thought you were going to hammer out Fractured Worlds because of the "baby cyberdemons"-- I got real excited at first since Nirvana made some difficult maps. But, nevertheless my excitement remains for more Ribbiks action. GLHF!

Man, I was wondering when you'd finally play this :D. The music alone makes me want to stay in this map. There's something... cozy? About it. Anyways, I thought the green cyberdemons were neat and secret hunting was fun although kind of tricky. Ribbiks outdid himself with these maps. You're gonna love this wad, I guarantee it 😉.

This WAD is surprisingly the only Ribbiks thing I've ever played. I'm not sure why I picked this over some of his other sets. Maybe the color palate, or maybe since it's got more of a focus on puzzles. Either way, I did enjoy it, even if there were some fights that took me a ton of attempts. Didn't find all the secrets either. Don't have time right now to watch this, but I'm looking forward to doing so later! Not going to lie, been burnt out on anything Doom for a bit so I haven't kept up with your playthroughs lately. This should pull me back in.

Man what a tough level for a 1st map?! Not to mention on Hurt Me Plenty?! What is this insane mode?! 😱 It's a nice map for sure but at what cost that Normal Mode for this can kill you very easily if your not that prepared at all?! 😮 Love the Teal Cyber's though. I say this is one heck of a start so very nice play here. 🙂 Can't wait to see other maps. 👍

Just watched. I've watched a UV-Max of this before, but it was uncommentated, so I appreciate you actually explaining things like the I-IV switch puzzle. The Cyb Fiesta is a really cool, if unpredictable fight. I had a harder time with the first part with 3 teals and 1 normal than the giant room right after tho. Not finding the secrets makes you miss a lot of this map, so it was cool to see all that I missed, like the PE fight. Also, it being non-linear means you can miss stuff like the pacifist hall that you almost died in, cause I totally missed that. I honestly can't wait for your map 3 vid, since like you said, it's a beast. Also, did you mention that barons don't count towards the kill count? I don't recall hearing that in the vid, so if someone's looking in the comments wondering why they didn't die, that's why.

This is one of those wads that I really wanted to see, but I know I don't have the chops for it.

With Ribbiks we always have a nice pallet color change. Like Swim With The Whales was the blue sunlust. Now we have teal sunlust.

Teals are a rare case of custom monster that seem to be on the way to becoming a darling in cl9 high difficulty stuff. Can't argue with high applicability range for high threat on a (relatively) glass cannon, I guess.
