I like the juxtaposition. The tray is rustic and natural whereas the handles are even, symmetrical, and refined.

Work is outstanding, were you using a metal mallet to hit your hatchet? A nice wooden mallet would be easier on the head of the ax.

They are “tennis elbow” bands. They really take the pressure and abuse off of your elbows.

The bowl looks very nice. 👍🏻💪🏻 I believe the saying on your t-shirt, I'll put it on a t-shirt too. 😁 Where you've worked the inside of the shell with a chisel and a polyurethane hammer, you're missing a short hand adze. You did the preparatory work with a "normal" adze, the coopers had the coopers (barrel makers) or the people who made the troughs.

@@ChopWithChris sry buddy, but looks like wrong sharpening angle or lenticular cutting edge. at low angles the axe tends to leave the tree. can you shave with your axe after sharpening?

@@ChopWithChris Well, I watched more of your videos and have a couple of comments. You have strong hands and good accuracy and I understand your love for big axes. But most of your axes are too heavy for your job. And I called them inconvenient for these reasons: Axes with a wide, straight blade are good for meat or execution, but not for wood. The wood is made straight from precise hit and not from a straight blade. Straight handle - suitable for felling and splitting wood, but not for carpentry. An imaginary line extending the blade at the axe for precision work must intersect with the end of the handle. it is ergonomic and comfortable. Axes with a blade parallel to the handle - for young scouts and weekend tourists. In terms of shape and weight, try 2 axe. if you look at examples on Amazon, the first as "Adler Canoe Axe" and the second as "Hults Bruk Almike Small All Purpose Hatchet". They will cover 90% + of your needs, and the rest of the axes will decorate your walls(and some tests) beautifully. And some rare cases you want small hatchet with straight blade. Usable angle of sharpening from 30 to small hatchet up to 35 for biggest. Best radius of blade rounding - 30cm(draw a circle and place axe to check). For careful work i use hatchet with 25 angle but is up to you. If you not expirienced with sharpening try to use angle setting tools or sharpeners with angle setting. your grinding wheel with pedals - is not good. A good sharpened axe must can shave.
