This is solid teaching…..practice hitting to an impact bag slowly you’ll feel what this teacher is instructing….the entire club strikes the ball.

I love this swing concept and I’ve been working through it. One difficulty I’m having is when I swing the club back at the top of my swing my left wrist cups instead of flexing naturally like I’ve seen in others that have applied this technique. How do I swing the club back and have the lead wrist flex naturally instead of cupping?

Can we talk about a practical way to tap the power sources? Struggling with distance, would like to get to a 200 yard drive with any wood, I love the 3 wood because the driver seems clumsy to me.

Hi Trish, I’ve always understood that our position at impact is different than our position at address in order to achieve proper compression of the ball. Will we achieve the proper impact position with this drill when we take a “real” swing at the ball? Is the purpose of this drill to get us to know the feeling of swinging down with our upper arms? Thanks!
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc Жыл бұрын
Hi there.… You are correct, the positions are actually different. But, our body and brain really doesn’t convert that properly.… So, yes this is to simulate the real Swing forward in the direction of the target to the finish

Hello there, thanks so much for your question. Every single club, unless you are doing a specialty shot. Should be placed in the center of your stance. From driver to Putter

Could you explain the concept of swinging the club toward the target? If the swing is a circle on an inclined plane, wouldn't the club be toward the target for just an instant? Therefore, would swinging toward the target require dragging the club down the target line?

The club should hit the ball at the address position. So if your club is aimed at the target in your address position it should be hit toward the target. Keeping your body as zeroed out to the plane as possible will lead to less deviation. Club over shoulder swing to address and then release following the club. The body follows what the whole club does

Hello there, thank you so much for your question. It’s not Ball position.… It’s Club) position. For a normal flat lie. Yes, I try to play every club in the center.… That is the center of my body. Not necessarily the center of my feet. Does that make sense?

So...address and impact are not the same position. Doesn't this drill lead people to believe that it is? Or is it that you want to feel that you're bringing back to the address position? The advice to swing the "whole" club down from the end of the swing is amazing because you're right, all the bs out there about dragging the handle, retaining the angle...all of that destroyed my scores. Staying centered, swinging over the shoulder, brushing the grass and swinging over the other shoulder is all of the thinking I want to do (while maintaining the circle, of course)
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you so much for your comment. Yes, the 2 positions do look different. But it's the mental picture that we are trying to create. And I totally agree with you, this is the best way to do it in my humble opinion
@robsaxepga

@@815TeeTimeInc that's what I thought. In the videos that John posted, Manuel says that at impact the left arm and club shaft are in line but he does the same drill you showed. Is it his philosophy that the weight isn't transferred until after impact? I don't think so as the underhand throw motion causes the step forward as the arm is going back. Your thoughts?

If the handle moves, the rest of the club does too. The handle can't move by itself.

You are correct.… But most people try to move the clubhead independently of the handle and that’s what I was talking about

Hello there, that is not necessarily what happens during the golf swing but it’s what we try to visualize. Which therefore put us in the correct position
@333pg333
@333pg333 Жыл бұрын
@@815TeeTimeInc Ok. I'm fine with 'doing' vs 'feels'. I'd be curious how visualising hands back gets hands forward in reality though? Most amateurs struggle to get hands far enough forward on a standard mid-short iron swing.

Good video on the excellent de la Torre concept, but being up in age, I have a problem with the ambiguous and contradictory balance issues in the swing concept. I swing the club over my right shoulder using my hands, and I keep my weight evenly on both feet--- no way. I must lift my front foot to get the club over my shoulder. If not, the swing is too short, or I am forcing my body into a position it cannot easily reach, causing tension, to say the least. If I lift my front foot or heel, there is naturally more weight on my back foot, seemingly a de la Torre no-no. In this way, the simple swing becomes a cruel double-bind, no fun. Please solve.

Trish I like the way you present the material, but a windsock or shield might dramatically improve the intelligibility of audio and knock out the overpowering wind noise. Sometimes it completely obliterates your audio and as a general rule I won't watch breezy vids purely because it cannot hear the audio clearly enough. I'm sure you understand this, and hope that it does help your video production quality.
