This is one of the best explanation videos I have seen for how to play a game. I clearly understand the rules now and have a good feel for the flow of the game. Additionally the zooming on the cards is a welcome touch as well... excellent job!

Glad to hear that GeordieGenes! Marvel Splendor is very good, and I think it is an improvement on the original Splendor, though if you have the original it is probably not really worth the upgrade. The components feel very nice and the gameplay is fast, strategic and fun! Enjoy! :)

I've been thinking about purchasing the original version of this game but after seeing your play through I would definitely get the Marvel version instead.

Hello Mrs Jackson! Splendor and Marvel Splendor are almost identical except for the Avengers tile and the Infinity Gauntlet. There is definitely no need to own both, but if you do not have either I would recommend Marvel as these additions do add a little bit to the game and the artwork is more fun! :)

Hi Matthew! We're delighted to hear that our video helped you learn the game. If you are playing with 4 players, the only difference is that you will not remove any of the Infinity Stone tokens. You will play with all of the components. Let us know how you get on when you get to play! Cheers.

Why do you use the grey shield token as a wild on any card? Isn’t it only suppose to be used on the card reserved?

Hello. No, the grey shield token can be used for any card. You don't necessarily have to use it on the reserved card.

At 7:50 when recruiting Mysterio she paid two Soul and a wild, but had a permanent soul with Yondu. Did she overpay?

What about the time token? And it needs 15 potins to win? Or more?

Hello. To trigger the end of the game you need to have 16 points or more, as well as 1 card of each colour and a time token. You get the time token from recruiting a level 3 card that has the token icon on it.

Hi Michael. We really like Marvel Splendor. I would definitely recommend it, if you do not own the original Splendor. The gameplay is not really different enough from Splendor to justify getting both, but if you do not have either this is the one I would recommend. It is a great game for people who regularly play boardgames because there is plenty of strategy in there, but it is also really good to play with people who do not normally play because the rules are very simple, the game is really quick to set up and start playing, and of course the Marvel theme is very appealing. The components are great too - the "Infinity Stones" are good quality poker chips, with a bit of weight to them and a good feel. There is good artwork on the cards too, and I really think the game mechanics are fun and addictive! I hope this helps!
