I'm fused skull-T2. I woke up April 25, 2017 with my neck locked in flexion (forward). I figured it was easier to describe in a video vs writing. I also show the amount of mobility I have after a full neck fusion with hardware. You can read my story on my blog: thehalodiaries2016.blogspot.com/

How are you doing now? Hope your neck lock has eased up and less complications now? On third cervical rodeo now, just had c2-t2 fusion on 9/27. Have some locking up by sternocleidomuscles and both traps still. Feel for you

I hope everything is working out. I'm looking at some kind of fusion as soon at I can get insurance approval. Neurosurgeon referral has been denied already and I've had 1 mini stroke.

Reconstructing Leslie if you do I hope it goes well. I was forward because I was unstable directly below my fusion.

This is the first time I’ve heard of this condition and I’m fascinated by it, and how in your older videos you had normal function with your neck bent forward, and the amount of flexion in your neck. It looks really painful and frustrating. I am in nursing school and I want to know the science behind this!! I really hope you’re doing well and that you aren’t in too much pain :)

I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). It causes the body to produce faulty collagen which causes joint subluxations/dislocations, muscle/tendon/ligament tears as well as many comorbidities. The reason I had normal function with my neck bent is because with my neck in neutral it was compressing the nerves that supply the shoulder. Surprisingly I felt better with my neck in flexion vs. neutral because of the compressioni. Just saw a surgeon for a 2nd opinion. It's confirmed additional surgery is required. There are some hardware complications so I'm in the process of further investigation to check bone density & then surgery will be scheduled in the coming months.

I have full fusion as well. Surgery 21 yrs ago. I’m still in pain with other probs. I have KFS. I will pray for u

K Brogan unfortunately it is contraindicated in majority of patients with EDS which is a connective tissue disorder. This had to be surgically addressed last fall because my spine was unstable below my fusion.

Megan King sweet lady, you've been on my mind. So sorry for your struggles. I understand your pain, spinal injuries are very hard to overcome. Praying for Gods will, because I don't know what to say. This is simply a very tough situation, you are amazingly brave. I will never forget you! Thank you for sharing this experience.

Did everything get better? This seems like downright mal practice if they fused your neck into this god awful position, by the slipped disk.

With a lot of additional surgery, yes. In this video I was fused skull-T2. I became unstable at several levels below T2 which is why my neck was locked in this position.
