The Mindful Movement

The Mindful Movement

2 жыл бұрын

It is your mind’s job to think, just as it is your stomach’s job to digest the food you eat. When practicing meditation, you may feel like you need to stop your thoughts or clear your mind completely. Your thoughts do not cause suffering, when you attach to your thoughts, and believe they are absolutely true with no other possible reality, this is what causes suffering. Because it is impossible to stop your thoughts entirely, I invite you to shift your intention to one of releasing attachments to thoughts.
Whether your thoughts are scattered and disorganized or intrusive and cyclical, change your relationship with your thoughts to reduce suffering due to undesirable thoughts.
Let this practice be your training for dealing with thoughts outside of meditation. Be patient and compassionate with yourself during this process and know that thoughts, like breath will come and go.

I used to get migraines atleast once a week and once I started meditating daily AND going gluten free, I truly believe the combination helped me only get them rarely now. Exciting to not have to refill an imitrex prescription within two weeks! Thank you Sarah for all you share with us and May you all feel better with way less migraines!!!!! 🧘‍♀️

Dear Sara, about a month ago I started practicing your meditations, morning and night, and what a transformation I’ve had. Can’t thank you enough. I also became a member, when I pick a meditation that feels right to work on at the moment. It’s better than a therapy for me, and I do not look elsewhere to practice. I can now say that I’m healing from a recent trauma, one day at a time, and am thankful for you everyday.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzfaq.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

Thank you Sarah. My Meditation Practices have always been 'interrupted' by my thoughts. I have used many techniques for allowing thoughts to come and go. In this Practice this morning, I have embraced my thoughts, allowing and letting go with a kindness and gentleness that brought me to a very peaceful place. I am very grateful to you Sarah for all these Meditation Practices, each one is special. Blessings to you, Les and all who are on this journey 🙏

Hey there Sarah and The Mindful Movement. Thought I'd stop by to say thank you for your videos. The guided meditations are perfect when I need when I need some assistance in facilitating a productive session of maximum benefit. Lacking the know how and motivation to prolonged time periods spent frozen in a rigid seated positon within a dark silent room. Alone. Anxious. Nothing but my wavering resolve. Fortunately I didn't give up. The practice method just mentioned is commonly misconstrued as being the only way to meditate. Without exposure to basic meditation principles we are blind to the numerous types and ways to practice. Sitting in silence is only one of many. So before it's discovery, I would work all day, every day, in a never ending sea of monotonous and identical days, back to back, on repeate, reruns only. A high strung, high speed work environment, show pony to the miniature hoard of cracked out adult babies, a public facing position, glued to a desk, a phone and strung out CRMs. Work life was a slow agonizing death but was resurrected each morning. Doomed to live life in an endless loop. At this point I doubt your surprised to hear I also suffer from a anxiety disorder born of nightmares. I am blessed with excruciatingly painful panic attacks that demand constant staycays at nearby hospitals and ER lobbies. Life was always an immense struggle. Steadily I would plunge toward rock bottom watching as my world crumbled around me. Utterly powerless and without defense against life's crushing blows which mutilated my self worth, my confidence, my mind. I was forever rebuilding, picking up the pieces of my past and trudging through the wreckage that was my accomplishments, my success, my reputation, my relationships and just about everything else we work to build durning our lives. Starting over from a pile of ashes over and over and over again became my normal. The sickness I had yet awakened to, the spiritual malady I couldn't face, the ownership and responsibility of everything happening in my life I had yet to take. I was to learn to become an active member in life and it was up to me to fix what was broken. For many years, maybe the majority of my life, I was hostage to a brutally intense reality will metastasis and return without meticulous attention to mind, body and spirit. When I rest on my laurels or I sink into complacency or stop trying, I begin the insideous process that allows my horror stories actualize. Something I'm working on is eliminating any guilt or shame around the fact that I feel totally responsible for everything that has happened which is dangerous. that recently came back to haunt me. If there's one thing I know, it's falling down. That's the easy part. It's like riding a bike down a huge hill. Little effort required. Theres only one way to fall. Sureender to destiny as gravity throws you to the ground. How can I fix this? What are my options? Am I the only one going through something like this? After a time, light emerges from way across the black void and we discover meditation. And it's individuals like Mindful Movement who make that light brighter by walking us through some basics. Giving us the resources to grow and eventually find control, mindfulness, serenity. Before long we notice how we don't notice the negatives about the stressful, relentlessly high pased and unhealthy work environment. You might realize alot of what used to defeat me at work were misperceptions and difficulties of my own making. Suffering the torture from highly frequent, volital and dibilitating panic attacks since 2008 was my reality and once my only option. All I could do was suffer through every single episode which can last for an entire week. Non stop abdominal pain at a steady 10, nausea, vomiting for days on end, cold hospitals, frustrated Prima Donna doctors protecting their ego over patient health. The list of pain goes on. But I kept walking toward that light which got brighter and warmer with each advancing step. Soon I was there and all I had to do to stay there was continuing commitment to a lifestyle of daily meditations, daily work and attention to my spiritual fitness, excercisig 6 days at week, adherence to clean dieting, strengthening awareness to mental health, building a social life through community groups, gaining interest in others and less on myself and investing in the power of positivity by minimizing fear. All this new mindfulness that cultivates all these great benefits that come from meditation. Anyway Mindful Movement helped shaped the person I am today and I make it a point to pass their name along to anyone who could benefit. Thank you Sarah for your voice. Grounded , comforting, gently pased. A great relief as many guides make themselves sound ridiculous. Before finding this channel I resigned to the belief that all meditation guides sounded like the village idiot. They take much pride when saying "reeeelaaaxsssss" at a glacial pace and trick you to believe the word relax is spelt with 29 minutes worth of "S" on the end. Shameful plug to my lonely wimpy channel. Please spread the love. Leave a rude comment or something. Light up my little thumb hand with some likes. Muy muy arigato y'all. Aloha

Please forgive the typos! I am aware they exist but honestly don't have the resolve fix anymore than I already have. That kids is called a half assed finished. In the end we live to fight another day and flawed syntax or a few missspelled words aren't gonna slow me down. At this point I don't even remember writing the dissertation of nonsense you see before you and therefore exempt from consequence regarding it's nature. Dang, that was a good example of reply box content to a comment I wrote. Smells like winning.

These videos do wonders for me. I’ve never gotten into meditation with any other videos or apps as much as I can get into it with this channel. Youre truly talented at what you do and have impacted my life for the better. I have gone through so much the end of 2023; it’s caused me to have severe anxiety to the point where I can’t even tell what’s real sometimes, but when I get stressed or anxious or upset I say “I need to meditate” lol and I go in my room and close the door and put on one of your videos. It’s helped me start daily good habits for myself and I can not thank you enough. You have earned a long-term well-devoted fan who would definitely recommend you guys to any who would like to try out meditation.

I have long covid which causes me to have non-epileptic seizures. They're not seizures where you jerk... During non-epileptic seizures you behave as if you have dementia or Alzheimer's. It can last for hours or days. I'm aware that something is wrong when I'm having these seizures but I can't think straight enough to push the button on my wrist that would someone to EMTs. During the most recent one I hit my head on something hard enough to cause a TBI, brain bleed & stroke. I was discovered by a friend who has a key & just happened to stop over. She found me under a cabinet. Not sure how long I've been there but it was long enough to have caused bed sores on my bum. I was rushed to Vanderbilt Hospital into emergency surgery where they had to remove the right half of my skull in order to relieve the pressure from my brain swelling. Yesterday 43 staples were removed. In about 4 wks the surgeon will do a CT scan and generate a map of the reconstruction that will need to be done to give me a skull on the right side. Currently I look like a cone head on that side. Really creepy and bizarre looking. My entire head was shaved. I had beautiful shoulder-length salt-and-pepper hair. I'll be wearing a special helmet for a while. I died at one point between my home and the end of the brain surgery. I didn't have any experiences with another realm like many people do. But I'll tell you what.... When I see my head in the mirror here at the rehab facility that I'll be staying at for at least three more wks, I don't see the strangeness of the shape of my head. I see a miracle & THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT is really helping me to keep that my focus. So far we see no cognitive or physical damage. My personality has not been altered. I AM STILL ME.... But with a greater sense of purpose I had discovered THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT just before this accident. I have a lot of time alone in my bed because recovering from a stroke requires rest so your brain can heal along with all the therapy. THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT is helping me make the best of that time. It's helping me heal my soul. Soul mind body... It's all interconnected. People are amazed at how well I'm doing. When I had 43 Staples removed yesterday, I listened to the mindful movement. It wouldn't hurt but it's just unsettling to think about being stapled and glued together like one of my furniture projects. I can't say everything is credited to THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT. but I consider what I have learned from them is medicine. It is healing me along with everything my doctors are offering me. Sorry for the monologue but I just wanted THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT to know how valuable is our work is Thank you! Thank you! Thank you. I appreciate you and your world appreciate you and your work.

I love your meditations, your voice is very calming. I am wondering however what you mean when you say, "you are what observes not what you observe" (@10:42). I can't seem to reason that thought. Can you help me there? Thanks again, i appreciate what you do. 🙏♥️

I think the message is to just simply observe your thoughts and not dwell onto it, become attached to it or let it become your reality. “what you observe” is not what you are.

There are some odd pauses between words and phrases that made it difficult for me to stay focused on the meditation in this one.
